To START with everyone might want to play a frost mage. For exactly two reasons. One, teleport/portal. Two, more importantly, AOE GRIND. You can grind out levels faster than any other class. You can make gold faster than any other class. You can farm RNG drops faster than any other class. It's the backbone of your toon harem. You just have to learn to walk that line between order and OMG I'M FKING DEAD! You have to learn how to handle different types of mobs with it and also how to avoid or handle ranged mobs mixed in the groups. Done properly it looks ridiculously easy, which is deceptive. One tiny mistake or even a small bit of bad luck and you're standing in the graveyard.

Fire mages are actually pretty good in Molten core as pure fire spec, if you have hybrid fire/frost like in AQ40 you able to play every raid in the game.

It is not true that there are so many warriors because it is cookie cutter meta whatever class. It is because how the Warrior class has been introduced in this video.

From tanking as Shaman in every leveling dungeon but Mara (totems make this way easier than it sounds) as well as doing some OT'ing in raids, I'd say the tanking aspect was never misplaced - just reserved for dungeons and for adds and trash in raids rather than ever being a raid MT. Don't get me wrong, shamans are indeed good MT in a number of fights thanks to their innate elemental res, but compared to druid, pally and warr they don't have as much mitigation in most fights. On top of that, like Pallys they don't have a taunt either, granted they have the biggest threat bomb in the game in Earth Shock which has a 20yd range albeit on a 5s cd with talents. There's a bit of a hurdle for endgame raids when it comes to mana management as well, but once you're geared enough you'll be really comfy. There's tons of upside to being a tank shaman, even in endgame - if you have any doubts or questions just go visit the warden discord.

people need on bows and guns just for the stats with a hunter in the group so its only fair that a hunter needs on melee weapons just for the stats, and I would say a hunter is forced into melee more often then a meleer uses their ranged weapon, and when a hunter does need to use melee the melee attacks play a larger role in the outcome of the fight then the few times meleers shoot (pulling, which you can do with a vendor throwind knife)

My best "me being a smart ass" moment in wow. I was with a 25 man in ICC. A holy priest in the group kept complaining that he was doing all of the healing and was first in heals. Someone then linked the healing meter, and my druid was actually first with more than double the amount of healing as the priest. So then the guy that linked it said "Looks like you're not first. You may want to ask Wagabag (my resto druids name) how to heal. So I reply with "Delete your priest and reroll a druid." 😀😥🙃

Whenever I would heal, I always preferred druids heals. There's just something about it that's so much fun. They were really good in wotlk. I remember always being invited into 25 man ICC and being on top of the healing charts. Not trying to brag, just showing how good they were in wrath.

@Moredhel83 I loved it. I also remember when they brought thorns back and it was so over powered. I was a max level resto druid fighting a max level warrior and I beat him because all I had to do was throw on thorns and heal myself and let him beat himself. Good times lol.

@Inujosha I remember when Druid healing was so easy that we'd do Strat and Scholo with me only using Rejuvination. A Regrowth was rare, even when fighting bosses :D I think that was right before MoP came out, everything was an absolute breeze back then!

@Moredhel83 Same. I know they don't heal as much as a huge case from like a Holy Priest or something, but I love being able to put a hot on someone and they will continue to gain health for a short time so I can focus on someone else that needs healing in the meantime.

Druids are my fav healers too, I just love HoT's!

As a mage since vanilla, I can tell you that many times I would park myself in Orgrimmar by the auction house selling portals and food to make money.

I understand that not everyone has enough time to dedicate to playing video games, but i've always been of the opinion that giving people LESS reasons to play a game is never a good idea. Which is exactly what the ability to buy ingame advantages for real-world money does. You basically pay to not have to play, which inherently cheapens the experience of playing the game. Normally the game itself is supposed to be the main draw for playing. You play because the game itself is fun. When you pay to not have to play all of that disappears, which means you have to invent other reasons for people to spend time in the game. Which is where cosmetics and other gimmicks like azerite come into play. But the thing is that all these things are just that - gimmicks. Novelty. Things that are kinda cool for five minutes until the novelty wears off and you have to find another gimmick to attract your attention. A pale substitute for the engagement that is supposed to be what motivates you to keep playing the game.

I love the gear you can recognize and isnt necessarily the 6 month grind in a good guild legendary item. It used to have personality. I still identify more in classic wow than the new stuff :(

If you play a caster, you get a ranged slot for a Wand weapon. They're more useful on priests and warlocks for solo damage, especially with some DoTs. Early on you get greater magic wand, then you get a really good one in the Blackfathom Deeps dungeon from a quest, that one will last you to the 50's.
