They didn't come close to winning UCL until 2022 and even that win by many is considered a miracle with all these three goals comebacks against PSG/City and Courtois having probably the best performence by a goalkeeper in the UCL final ever. This year is also special in a way because RM got in konckout rounds : the worst Liverpool side in 5/6 years which didn't even got top 4 in PL this season and the worst Chelsea side since the times before Abramovicz bought Chelsea (around 2003 iirc) which at some point could have been in the relegation battle.
