I agree with the fact in this video, Indonesia really has to move its capital city considering that the island of Java is already very densely populated. The discourse of moving the capital city of Jakarta has also existed since Indonesia was still colonized by the Dutch, precisely during the reign of Governor Herman Willem Daendels. Many factors caused Indonesia to have to move its capital city, in addition to the overpopulation factor on the island of Java, geographical factors were also the main reason why Indonesia had to move its capital city because of the very low landmass of the island of Java and it was predicted that in the future the island of Java would sink because its geological factors were already damaged. Population distribution must be carried out evenly, considering that the island of Kalimantan is still empty of residents, although Kalimantan's natural resources are very high but underutilized due to a lack of human resources, this can be a reference for Indonesia to move the capital city.

Since i'm from West borneo myself. I can assure you that Borneo is like a wet dream for tropical city designer because most tropical islands are small and dangerous due to volcanic activities and earthquake, Borneo never had any of that (i live here for 20 years and never in my life have i experienced an earthquake). However, enviromental problem caused by palm oil industry can already be seen across the island. So here's hoping that moving a huge administration center like *The state capital* would see more regulations actually being enforced more effectively.

Thank you RealLifeLore for making a video explaining about moving the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Kalimantan, so that many people know this information. I totally agree with what is said in the video, that it is true that the capital city of Indonesia moved to Kalimantan because Jakarta is experiencing various kinds of problems, ranging from overpopulation, flooding, land subsidence, pollution, traffic jams, and others. . It is feared that if Jakarta remains the capital city, this problem will continue. In addition, in my opinion, moving the capital city to Kalimantan is one of the right steps to overcome the problem of overpopulation in Jakarta. Many people from other islands have moved to the island of Java, especially Jakarta in search of work and a better life, but by moving the capital city to Kalimantan it will accelerate the distribution of development there, so that in the future it is hoped that the islands that develop in Indonesia will not only be Java but also the island of Borneo and surrounding. That way, the geographic mobility map can change. Currently, the government must focus more on preparing for the relocation of the capital city, so as to minimize funds. Indeed, there are many pros and cons to moving the capital city, but I personally believe and believe that moving the capital is the right thing and needs to be done for a better Indonesia. When president Joko Widodo first announced the plan to move Indonesia’s capital in 2019 it was quite a shock because at first i don’t really know the reasons, but now i completely agree about moving the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan because i think it’s great effort to relieve a huge environment challenges facing Jakarta, and to redistribute wealth.

thank you, useful explanation about the facts of Indonesia, especially in the capital city of Jakarta. I am amazed by how detailed your research was in making this video. The matter of moving the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Kalimantan is indeed the right effort. As a resident of Jakarta, I often experience common problems in this capital city. Traffic problems, environment, population, health, education, etc. However, relocating the nation's capital to the island of Borneo, which contains large amounts of combustible peatlands, increases the risk of forest fires and has a significant negative impact on the environment. In addition, moving the capital city does not guarantee that environmental problems in Jakarta will be resolved. (Bunga Nessa Maharani 12 science 1)

Thank you for making this video, This is amazing video!! In my personal opinion, I totally agree about moving the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Kalimantan As a citizen of Jakarta, I often feel the general problem in this capital city. The problems of congestion, environment, population, health, education, etc. are all problems that are considered normal in the capital. But if we don't solve this problem, it will have a more severe impact. But, there is a positive impact given from moving the capital, one of which is minimizing the risk of natural disasters because in Jakarta there is no support for environmental power because it is too crowded and a lot of people. Kalimantan is a strategic and spacious place and far from the threat of natural disasters, this can provide an opportunity for Jakarta to recover and develop from existing problems such as floods, congestion, and water crisis. But, I personally believe that capital is the right thing and it's better for Indonesian future.

Hopefully it doesn't cause a huge population growth and thus a negative impact on the environment. Thank you for this amazing and educative video! Personally, Jakarta has been overpopulated and there are some problems such as traffic jams, air pollution, floods and also slum areas. Because of these reason, moving the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Kalimantan is a great idea. Kalimantan is strategic and suitable city to be the capital city of Indonesia. Kalimantan has a lot of large-empty land which is, Indonesia will be easy to re-build the capital city. Kalimantan rarely occurs natural disasters because there are no active volcanoes compared to Jakarta which often experiences natural disaster such as earthquake and floods.

Besides, the island of Java ( the island where jakarta is located) is to over populated. Also, the centralization of power is happening there. If the capital was moved to kalimantan, the government will sure left Java and went to kalimantan, and stop the power centralization.

very interesting and very informative explanation! please allow me to give my honest opinion, I personally agree with moving the capital city of Indonesia. because as a person who lives in Jakarta, I think Jakarta is already too crowded with the increasing population. relocating the capital is one way to overcome this problem, because the distribution of the population will be evenly distributed. The selection of East Kalimantan as the new capital in my opinion is also right, because of its very strategic location in the middle of Indonesia, spacious land that is ready to be developed is a brand new plan for the new capital city and geographically minimal disaster risk.

Hi, a great video and it opened my eyes about moving the capital city. In my opinion this is the right step to reduce problems in the capital by moving the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan, because the capital city is the brain of a country so it needs a safe place, especially from natural disasters. Thank you for making this very useful video with a very good and not boring explanation of why Indonesia and several other countries have changed their capital cities. This video is very educational and through this video can certainly add insight, especially for us as the next generation of the nation. Of course, there are many people who support and oppose the relocation of Indonesia's capital city. In my personal opinion, as the color of the Indonesian state who lives in DKI Jakarta, I agree with the issue you raised, namely the relocation of the capital city of Indonesia to Kalimantan. This is certainly also inseparable from its positive and negative impacts. As we all know, Jakarta is the city with the largest population in Indonesia. As the capital city, Jakarta has the largest business, government and residential areas in all cities in Indonesia. This is also one of the impacts that causes Jakarta to have many problems related to population density, congestion, flooding, environmental pollution, and many more. With the relocation of the capital city, it is expected to be able to overcome these various problems and be able to realize equitable development. Apart from that, from the negative side, the island is known as one of the lungs of the world because it has a very large forest area, I am very wary of changing land into a very significant industrial area. Of course, the Indonesian government has thought carefully about this. I really hope that this relocation of the capital city can help advance regions in Indonesia, especially those that are still lagging behind, so that all Indonesian people can experience equitable development and adequate facilities such as in big cities and it is hoped that it will provide an opportunity for Jakarta to recover from the existing problems to realize a more advanced and developing Indonesia.

thanks in advance to RealLifeLore for the valuable and informative content. this is really worth to watch. because this video explains the positives and negatives of moving the Indonesian capital to Kalimantan. so, the audience not only sees the negative side, but also understands the positive side. in my opinion, as an Indonesian citizen who also lives in Jakarta, i agree with the relocation of the capital city to Kalimantan on the grounds that the population in Jakarta is already booming, air pollution, flooding, etc. for this reason, i agree with moving the Indonesian capital to Kalimantan. but, on the other side, i don't agree with moving the Indonesian capital if it is done now. because in my opinion, for now it is better to focus on dealing with problems that cannot be resolved in Indonesia. such as problems regarding waste, poverty, unemployment, and the pandemic that is still not over. because moving the capital city of Indonesia requires a very large budget. it would be nice if the budget was maximized to overcome the existing problems to the maximum. thank you.

15:31 That transition from what appears to be a rainforest to a plain land scared me lol. I'm not Indonesian but I hope that the environmental impact of relocating the capital will be regulated to the very minimum. The urbanization of Borneo, I'm afraid, might be equivalent to the destruction of the very biodiverse rainforest which would be terrible for the planet.

Hello! thanks for making this video. I am very interested and enjoy watching this video because i was shocked when you state all the problems that jakarta has and it is much worse than i thought. I enjoyed living in jakarta because of the ease access to public transportation and the employee's wages that keep on growing every year. From my pov, flooding problem and traffic issues is slowly decreasing because of some contruction and regulation that the government made to prevent these problem. But i think moving the capital city to a new location is a good move from our government. Java is already pretty good economically so we need to maintain excellent economic growth for other island as well and that problem will be solved by this.

Thank you for the video, great explanation! I agree with the idea for the relocation of Indonesia's capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan. Because Jakarta had a lot of problems, for example the world's worst city for traffic, overpopulation, floods, and more. I am sure the president and government have thought a lot about this and they know the risks with this decision that they made or they will make, that's why I agree with whatever the decision will be because they know what's best for Indonesia. In my opinion, Kalimantan is a much more strategic place for Indonesia's capital city, because it is in the middle of Indonesia and it is a much safer place than in Jakarta in terms of natural disaster.

WOW, GREAT VIDEO! ✨✨ First of all, I wanna say that this video is a brief, concise, and clear explanation. A video that provides insight into the importance of the capital city in a country, so that I understand very well the causes and factors for moving to the capital city of Indonesia. In addition, it also provides an overview of the benefits that will be obtained if the capital city of Indonesia is moved. I really appreciate your work RealLifeLore 👏🏻👏🏻. From this video, we know that the placement of Indonesia's capital city in Jakarta is no longer strategic and good for the future. There are many problems in Jakarta, namely: 1. There are many disparities between the capital city and other cities in Indonesia, ranging from population and economy. 2. Very high population growth causes population density, ecological damage, poor traffic, and the emergence of air pollution problems in Indonesia. 3. Rising sea levels threaten the sinking of settlements around Jakarta. In my opinion, moving the capital city is indeed a very bright idea for Indonesia's future. However, it still needs careful consideration. In terms of benefits, the impact is very positive for Indonesia. Where if the capital city is moved to Borneo it will be more in the middle of the entire Indonesian archipelago, reducing the risk of natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, and reducing current inequalities in terms of population, infrastructure, economy, human resources, and others. However, if we look at the current condition of Indonesia, it seems that it will be difficult to make it happen in a short time because it will require very high costs. Where these costs can actually be allocated for urgent problems that must be resolved domestically, such as for domestic economic growth. Some observers also criticized this decision-making as being too hasty and considered a waste of state money because if this plan fails and stagnates in the middle of the road, it will lose hope for Indonesia. So in my opinion, a very in-depth study is needed to move the capital city. And a strong agreement is needed to represent all Indonesian people so that there will be no division in the end. Perhaps in the remaining term of President Joko Widodo, the government can resolve some of the more pressing issues first, so that there are no new problems that are neglected and piled up in the Indonesian government. In addition, from the estimated time remaining for the effective use of the current capital city, Jakarta, Indonesian people, especially in Jakarta, can take action to restore the environment. The community must participate in maintaining the ecosystem in Jakarta, thereby increasing the effective time to use Jakarta as the capital city of Indonesia. In this way, the government will have more time to solve urgent domestic problems first at this time. So, I totally agree with the brilliant idea of moving the capital city to Borneo, but with the condition that it requires careful and detailed study and planning. Because we also need to be realistic in facing the current condition of Indonesia, so that the dream of realizing the capital city of "Nusantara" is not just wishful thinking, but also to be able to become a real bright future for Indonesia. Thank you. Naomi Kristi (25) - SMAN 50 Jakarta

Jakarta was a city that has a really large population in indonesia. Because of the overpopulation it self causing the city to be polluted, other than that the water crisis in jakarta is increasing. That's why in here replacing the capital city is a good answer for all of these problem meanwhile replacing the capital city also would take some risk at the time

Due to earthquakes, pollution, and crime rates, Jakarta hasn't exactly been a model city to represent the nation. thank you for making this video, this is such a great explanation!! as an Indonesian citizen who was born and raised in the capital city of Indonesia. Jakarta is a big city. Being the capital definitely makes everything centered in Jakarta. As the center of business, government and culture, Jakarta is home to headquarters, private companies, and foreign companies. I do agree that Jakarta as a current capital of Indonesia have so many problems. because Jakarta needs relocation, also every year there are always disasters such as floods and traffic issues. Recently, Jakarta has also had an earthquake. Jakarta also has a lot population. some people migrated to Jakarta to get a job. air and water conditions in jakarta is the worst. But, move capital to other area is not a good idea and urgent matter that have to realize in this time. As we know, this 2 year we have so many problems in social economy during pandemic. Move the capital needs a lot of costs. And also, Kalimantan has dense and beautiful forests that are the lungs of the world. If there is a relocation of the capital, it will definitely have an impact on the environment. Despite all these cons, of course the government has taken the best decision to make Indonesia more advanced. I hope everything can be better.

The video is very good and conveys the information very clearly so that it is easy for me to understand. In my opinion, moving the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Sumatra is actually a good idea but we must also consider some of the positive and negative impacts. the positive impact is that Jakarta can become less dense and the relocation of the capital city reduces the burden of Jakarta as a center of bureaucracy and government center. This makes Jakarta's future development direction more focused on business and investment centers. if the negative impact is that the relocation of the capital city will consume a large budget. Then in the environmental sector there are also impacts such as the need for land for a new capital city is definitely not small. An area of 300,000 hectares, most of which is forest, will be partially converted into a concrete forest for the new capital city. This is very unfortunate for the nature of Kalimantan which is famous for its dense forests. But we all certainly believe that the government has made an in-depth and comprehensive study to reduce the various bad excesses caused by the relocation of this capital city in the future.

hii!! thank you so much for making this video, your video is very awesome! In my opinion, I agree with the relocation of the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Kalimantan, due to the current condition of Jakarta which requires the transfer. economic activity in general is still concentrated in Jakarta and Java. So that the island of Java becomes very dense and creates inequality with the islands outside Java. If we allow this to continue without serious efforts, inequality will only get worse. The new capital city was designed not only as a symbol of identity, but also as a representation of the nation's progress. The capital city is not only a symbol of national identity, but also a representation of the nation's progress.

Thank you for making this useful video.

Thank you RealLifeLove for sharing this amazing and very educational video. In my opinion, i agree that Indonesia has to move its capital city considering that Jakarta is very crowded and many social inequalities in various regions. But on thing that we have to concern about is environmental issues must once again be underlined as a fundamental consideration in the process of relocating the capital city. It is critical that this process be carried out in a hurry and not through an adequate public consultation process. In a democracy, open discussion to listen to public aspirations, including with local indigenous peoples, must be an integral part of making decisions of this public importance.

Man I love Indonesia, everything related to this country is interesting and amazing, such a big country with a huge diversity. I actually have been trying to travel there but Covid has ruined my plans. Hopefully i can get there sooner. And of course i will visit Jakarta, even though most indonesians have told me not to because "there's nothing to see, is just a city", but I'm sure it will be a great experience to meet the urban lifestyle of Jakarta.

Thank you very much for making a video that is very useful for Indonesians themselves and foreigners who watch it. The explanation video about moving the capital from Jakarta to Kalimantan is very well explained. In my opinion, moving the capital from Jakarta to Kalimantan has its positive and negative sides. Judging from the environment, the social conditions of the Indonesian people and the economy itself were very influential in the relocation of this capital city. From the positive side, the Indonesian capital in Kalimantan is more beautiful when viewed from the environment, and maybe the government can consider a policy to start development on the island of Kalimantan and its surroundings, so that development is evenly distributed. The positive side from the Jakarta side, making Jakarta more calm, maybe it can reduce the population that explodes. From the negative side, Kalimantan is the target of a population explosion, and the originally beautiful Kalimantan is feared to be polluted from an environmental point of view. And will become a congested area later on. In moving the capital must also prepare quite a lot of funds.

Thank you for making a great video, informative and easy to understand!! As already presented in the video, the Indonesian government wants to move the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan (Borneo). In my opinion, Indonesia wanting to move their capital city is a great idea, as an Indonesian, we know that Jakarta has a lot of problems, such as floods, traffic jams, and air pollution which is quite bad. The video explains that every year Indonesia sinks into the ocean as deep as one centimeter, wherein the next few years if it rains heavily, the depth of the flood will be even worse. Traffic jams often occur because every resident chooses to use private vehicles instead of using public transportation, which causes air pollution to get worse every day. Population density is also a problem for Jakarta. Urbanization, they think that living in the city will be prosperous, getting a job is easy so they decide to stay, but in fact, it is not!! This has resulted in the emergence of a slum area on the edge of the river which makes the water polluted due to a large number of households. Agreeing to move to the capital city will also have a negative impact on Kalimantan. Where we know there is still a large area of forest, it would be a shame if the forest had to be removed and made the center of a new government and economy. Apart from these negative impacts, there are also benefits for Kalimantan and the surrounding area. because the position of the new capital will be right in the middle of Indonesia, like other countries that have moved their capitals to a more strategic and safe place. The ease of reaching each region will be better than before, it is very likely that economic equality will also occur. Moving the capital city to Kalimantan is also the best choice because it is far from the volcanic mountains that surround Indonesia.

Thank you for making this video to clarify the situation in Indonesia regarding the relocation of the capital city. I am Sekar Kirana from XII Social 3, SMAN 50 Jakarta, want to give my opinion about this video. I agree with the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo proposing to move the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan. This is because Jakarta, which is located on the island of Java, is the most populous island in Indonesia. The population is very large and many big cities such as Jakarta are metropolitan cities which are the center of the state government and various economic industries are here. This has resulted in many people from outside Jakarta urbanizing, moving from villages to cities to get their jobs, so that traffic in Jakarta often experiences severe congestion. There are also many tall buildings in Jakarta which will have a bad impact on the island of Java. Rising sea levels around Jakarta, will have an impact on the sinking of this city, which is experiencing a decrease of 1 cm per year. As a result of the lack of care for the residents of Jakarta, this can lead to many slum rivers due to littering and water pollution due to the disposal of waste from factories, causing Jakarta to experience a clean water crisis. In addition, the island of Java, which is commonly called the 'Ring of Fire', makes Jakarta more and more unsafe from year to year, the many active mountains in the Java Island area can cause disasters at any time and also tectonic plates that can cause earthquakes and tsunamis in the area coast of Java Island. Therefore, Kalimantan is the right choice to be the best capital city area compared to other Indonesian islands because Kalimantan has a small population of around 11 million people. In addition, the Kalimantan area which is entirely in the form of forest makes the capital city safe on this island, Kalimantan does not have a volcano because the location of the island of Borneo is not close to the tectonic plate path (magma pathway). As a result, the percentage of occurrence of volcanic cones in Kalimantan is very small or even nil. Because the island of Borneo is not traversed by the Eurasian & Indo-Australian magma pathway.. Thank you..:)

Hi! thanks for make this video and it opened my eyes about moving a capital city. In my opinion, there are a positive and negative side in moving the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan. In positive side, I think it's a good idea to move the capital city bcs the location of the capital city must be strategic so that it can be reached by other areas. Jakarta is also the center of the Indonesian population. It makes Jakarta an unhealty city , such a lot of population, and traffic jams everywhere. In the negative side, the healty Kalimantan city will be more polluted than before. Flora and fauna there will lose their place and lives too

My hope is that the government can design it well, and it can be finalized properly. Don't let this capital city move be a miscalculation. should be grateful because the density of Jakarta can at least reduce a little. The congestion rate, I hope, can also be reduced quite rapidly with this policy. However, on the bad side, Kalimantan has the potential to experience environmental damage like in Jakarta. “I'm afraid it will be ugly because it's the capital city. I'm afraid that the trees will be cut down into high-rise buildings like Jakarta," I hope that moving the capital city will be the right decision and that Jakarta will become even better in the future.

thanks for making this video, from this video has a good explanation about why Indonesia is moving their capital city. in my opinion, currently jakarta does have many problems ranging from traffic jams, flood, air pollution, to a population that is too dense. The relocation of the capital city, especially in Indonesia, certainly has positive and negative impacts. Jakarta as the capital city on the island of Java causes the population on the island of Java to be more than other islands. Development and facilities in the capital city will be much better than other island. Therefore many people want to live on the island of Java. For a positive impact, in my opinion, by moving the capital city of Indonesia to Kalimantan Island, there will be an even distribution of justice in development, facilities, the economy, and various other aspects for the island of Kalimantan and its surroundings. on the other hand there are many people, are opposed to the capital being moved. This is because they believe the government has not done a thorough job of preparing for the program. The decision appeared to be rushed by the government, according to the public. This is because the public has just recently been aware of the decisions made, and the public perceives the government to be less transparent, particularly in light of the government's lack of open socialization of policy to the wider population. On this matter, the government is likewise less accessible to public opinion, giving the impression that it is not ready to relocate the capital. In addition, there are also many numerous issues in the economic, educational, and socio-cultural fields, as well as other critical issues, remain unresolved.

I know its hard to summarize in 20 minutes the issues of a giant diverse country's capital that most westerners know little about, but believe me the government is more concerned about 'eruptions' like the uprising in 1998 that overthrew the Suharto dictatorship than volcanos, that deserves at least a mention. Also bears to mention that Balikpapan (near the proposed new capital) is a growing center of the oil industry in Indonesia probably not a coincidence.

Thank you RealLifeLore for making this good video. in my opinion, moving the capital city of Jakarta to Kalimantan is a good idea because Jakarta is a densely populated city, and there is a shortage of clean water because there are still many people living on the banks of the river and polluting river water with waste. Moving the capital city of Jakarta to Kalimantan is the right choice because Kalimantan has a strategic location, and the population is not dense. This transfer is also one of the reasons for efforts to transform the economy and increase equity by creating new growth centers.

thank you for making this video that have such a great explanation! based on the video, the indonesian government wants to move their capital city into borneo (that known as kalimantan). in my personal opinion and since i was an indonesian myself, i totally agreed to move the capital city to kalimantan, since there's a lot of island on indonesia that development has not progressed due to lack of equitable developments, underpresented and less economy left behind because of the center of government is all in jakarta. and because of that, jakarta is become more unhealthy and very crowded because of overpopulation (that's because of a lot of people imigrates from other island and think that they'll be had a great life living on the city). so relocating capital city is such a great idea because jakarta will become more better metropolis and healthy. and i found it's really easier to control the country if we separate the economic center with government center because they can can focus on one jobdesk. and also kalimantan is more safe than jakarta since there's no any volcano and have a little chance to get a natural disaster. even thought there's still a negative side to this decision because kalimantan still have a large area of forest, and it's a pity if we have to cut it down. but i hope this decision can be finalized properly so there's no any problem and can advance and distribute development as a whole in Indonesia.

I agree with all the issues you have raised, many people are in favor of moving the capital city and also many who are against it, I personally agree with the transfer of the capital city, many factors underlie the agreement regarding this, as we know that equity in Indonesia not yet fully evenly distributed both in terms of economy and infrastructure in underdeveloped areas, and in DKI Jakarta it is also considered to be too congested so that with the relocation of the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan, hopefully it can equalize the opportunities for the people of Kalimantan to develop in various aspects that have been enjoyed for a long time. by the Javanese. They can enjoy the economy, education, etc. and it is easier for them to carry out comprehensive equity in Indonesia which is also one form of the experience of the fifth principle of Pancasila.

Great video! In my opinion about relocation the capital city was a great idea, because as explained in the video above, Jakarta has a lot of problems. Maybe this relocation has a good purpose to reduce pollution and the population in Jakarta. We know that the people in Jakarta are very dense so that it causes a lot of pollution, crime and overcrowding. So to reduce this, one of them can be by moving the capital city to Kalimantan. However, I feel the relocation to Kalimantan was not right. Kalimantan is famous for the lungs of Indonesia because there are many forests, if the forest is cut down, the oxygen in Indonesia will also decrease. But I believe the government must have thought about this well, and I hope that the relocation will be smooth and Indonesia will progress further.

This video very explained about moving the capital city of Jakarta to Kalimantan. in the process of relocating their capital cities, Indonesia is relocating their capital city away from Jakarta and moving it more than 1.000 km away to a completely different island, this is incredibly significant because Indonesia itself is an incredibly significant country, Indonesia has the fourth highest population of any country in the world. i know it’s hard to summarize in 20 minutes the issues of a giant diverse country’s capital, but in my opinion the government is more concerned about eruptions like the uprising in 1998 that overthrew the Suharto dictatorship than volcanos, that deserves at least a mention. Educational and great video! This video explains its contents very well and I am amazed by the detail of your research in making this video. I really appreciate your video, RealLifeLore. In my opinion, as a resident of Jakarta and my family is a native of Jakarta, my family and I witnessed the changes that took place in Jakarta, which was originally Jakarta was still filled with trees that made it cool until now Jakarta is filled with skyscrapers and toll roads what makes Jakarta not as cool as it used to be, plus the movement of people from rural areas to very large cities, makes Jakarta overpopulated and not a few of them live in slum areas. The plan to move the capital of Kalimantan is a very good plan in terms of evening the distribution of the population to achieve even distribution of infrastructure but in terms of the budget, of course it takes a very large budget, especially now that the world is being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic which has caused an economic crisis in the world, including Indonesia. Behind the debate on moving the capital, of course, there are positive and negative impacts that become the benchmark for agreeing or disagreeing with the plan. The positive impact of moving the capital, among others, is that it allows for an even distribution of population and even distribution of infrastructure in the new capital area, its strategic location makes the threat of attacks from outsiders against the capital minimized and the problem of population density that occurs in Jakarta can be resolved because Jakarta is no longer the center of government so that traffic jams in Jakarta can be resolved. while the negative impact of moving the capital, among others, is that the area of the new capital city which is famous for its beautiful forests with clean air can end up like Jakarta which is surrounded by skyscrapers and toll roads which can cause the air to become dirty and the budget required is certainly not small so that can create a budget imbalance, especially during difficult times like this where the whole world including Indonesia is being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic which makes the economy weaken.

Thank you for explaining about my country. Well, Indonesia is a beautiful country with a wealth of nature and culture in it. However, it does not show that Indonesia is a perfect country. There are definitely advantages and disadvantages. For example, in Jakarta, which is the capital of Indonesia, although it is very famous and most of the life takes place there, there are drawbacks. Jakarta is getting more and more problems, such as flooding every long rain, population density, congestion, air pollution, water pollution, and others. The problem of moving the capital to East Kalimantan, this is a good choice in my opinion. The reason is because Jakarta can no longer be the criteria for the capital city with the current situation. But in moving the capital itself is a difficult thing for the government. It took a long time to prepare all that, because the capital is also to show the existence of the country itself. And my hope is that Indonesia will continue to develop for the better.

And that may be the one of solution to making Jakarta is the more living place city. Besides that, Kalimantan is one of the safest island in Indonesia, cause in there it never has a serious natural disaster. Great explanation with awesome visualization. it's been quiet interesting thinking about our government decided to moving the capital city from Jakarta (Java Island) to Nusantara (Borneo Island) which planned to be the new capital city of indonesia. In my opinion, the relocation of the capital city is appropriate. Because, Borneo has such a great criteria as place to move the capital city of Indonesia. First, Borneo is the center island in indonesia. Second, It doesn't has that much active volcano and earthquack were rarely happen. Third, Borneo considered has low potential to social conflict happen. Aside from that, moving the capital city from Jakarta is a smart desicion to reduce the crowds of population in Java Island especially in Jakarta.

Thank you for showing the informative content video. Nowadays the topic of moving the capital city of Indonesia is currently being discussed everywhere on television, newspapers, and social media. Based on information that i get, the relocation of the capital city was carried out because it was to overcome environmental problems in a densely populated city, namely Jakarta. In addition, the location of the new capital city (Kalimantan) is considered a strategy. to be honest I disagree with the capital city relocation. I disaree because Jakarta already has a big name. While Kalimantan does not yet have a big name. It will be very difficult to develop a city that is quite lagging behind. In addition, the discovery of excessive forest in Kalimantan which is detrimental to nature and the state of the surrounding environment. Must pay attention to this situation. I believe that the government has made a wise decision. However, as a resident of Jakarta, I refuse to move the capital city. the cost is expensive. Especially considering the Covid-19 pandemic situation where there is a lot of social gap happening. from the opinion that I have conveyed, does moving the capital city all plans can go well??? The government must have the courage to accept the risks that occur in the future. Thank you.

Good content. I'm interested in your video, because I'm Indonesian. The plan to move the Indonesian capital from Jakarta to Borneo (Kalimantan Island) is a very good thing. Because as we know, Indonesia is a country that is still developing and has a large population. The current capital city of Indonesia, namely Jakarta, still has many problems. Starting from traffic jams, high air pollution, floods, and also tall buildings. Given, Jakarta is a swamp area that was built as the capital and is located on the island of Java. The island of Java itself has many volcanoes that can be considered dangerous to humans. In addition, moving the capital city of Indonesia to Borneo is the right thing. Because Jakarta used to be a swamp and if more and more Indonesians live in Jakarta as a place to live, Jakarta will automatically sink in the near future. Borneo is located on the island of Borneo is the perfect place to relocate the Indonesian capital. There are no volcanoes that can harm humans. Borneo is also located in the middle of other Indonesian islands. Thus, the decision to move the capital city of Indonesia from Jakarta to Borneo (Kalimantan Island) is the right decision.

In addition to the very rapid population growth factor, Indonesia still needs to move its capital city to Kalimantan, because geographically, the island of Kalimantan is more accurately the center of the capital city because it is located in the middle of the Indonesian archipelago. In addition, there are many rumors that in the future the island of Java will sink, well ... this is quite reasonable because the mainland of the island of Java is generally very low, as well as many natural disasters that have occurred in Indonesia. which if the impact is the island of Java has a higher risk of damage and loss problems are high compared to other islands in Indonesia, so Indonesia needs to move its capital city to minimize the possibility of disasters that will occur.

An interesting take i heard on this was that this is also a geopolitical move, by moving the capital to east kalimantan, Indonesia opens up an eastern corridor that will be able to take away influence from the straits of Malacca. This is in line with the history of the empires in Java and the influence the straits of Malacca they are subjected to. By creating this eastern corridor they allow for trade from north asia to flow downwards to Taiwan, the Philippines, and finally through eastern Indonesia thereby decreasing the dependence of Indonesia in the straits.

first of all this video is very good and useful, the delivery of the video is clear and also the visuals are very interesting There are several interesting points in this video, such as the island of Java itself is home to more than 60 percent of the population in Indonesia and economically, Java and Jakarta are indeed far more developed than other islands and I think this is the biggest reason the Indonesian president wants to move the capital. This relocation of the capital form Jakarta to Kalimantan definitely has pros and cons, in my opinion moving the capital is good because there are many problems that occur in Jakarta such as air pollution, worsening air quality, bad traffic and land subsidence every year as explained in the video. But behind all these reasons, I think there are some things that are not good from moving the capital to Kalimantan, Kalimantan is known as the lungs of the world because of its forest area of about 40.8 million hectares which is filled with a lot of flora and fauna which will surely be cut down to build offices, housing and other things and also moving the capital requires a lot of money especially now in the covid 19 situation. I hope the government is wiser in this situation so it doesn't become a bad thing in the future.

Wow, an amazing video! So interesting to heard on this. Well, i agree with moving the location of capital city. Because some reason. First, Borneo is largely cobered by rainforeat and is sparsely population. In kalimantan, the percentage of Indonesia's population is only 6.05 percent or 15,801,800. Second, as a result of all these contributing factors, the entirety of Jakarta is now sinking into the ground by about one centimeter a year. Moreover, the capital must leave the island of Java because of the availability of fresh water into a crisis. That is why one government concern in locating the new capital in Borneo. But yeah, it will be pro and kontra, be polyemic and need long thoughts on the positive and negative transformations of the capital country.

I live in one of the Malaysian states of Borneo Island and the capital relocation certainly caught me attention when it was first announced. While I acknowledge and am aware of all the considerations that took place for the move, I really hope that the ecological system in Kalimantan would be well-preserved and not be destroyed in the name of development.

Wow, nice video. Thank you for making a very useful explanation video about why the capital city of Indonesia moved to Kalimantan. You explain it very well and the video presented is very interesting. As an Indonesian citizen living in Jakarta, I agree with this decision. Jakarta is the city with the largest population in Indonesia. Therefore, many problems occur in Jakarta such as overpopulation, pollution, flooding, congestion and many more. Economic activities are also too focused on the island of Java so that it becomes one of the factors that cause economic inequality. With the relocation of the Indonesian capital to the island of Kalimantan, I hope that many people who live on Java will also move, thereby reducing the population on the island of Java and can make economic equality so that the economy in Indonesia can be more advanced. Besides that, there is a negative side to this decision, which is about how the beautiful island of Kalimantan with many trees will be cut down. I hope that the government will continue to maintain the beauty of the island of Kalimantan. whatever it is, I hope this is the right decision so that Indonesia becomes a better country in the future.

Indonesia's population has grown to over 130 million people in less than 50 years! That's more than two Great Britains. This with drastic environmental, economic and social consequences, showing that what developing countries need most is birth control programs, and less religion.

wow great video and informative content! so that many people know this information. I personally agree with moving the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan, in my opinion there are positive and negative sides. The positive thing is that Jakarta can be free from traffic jams and make Jakarta more beautiful. It's no secret that Jakarta and its surroundings are already very crowded and complicated. Then if in Kalimantan every development there is an environment that is neat, clean, and does not flood, it will definitely show the dignity of the country. However, there are times when moving from Jakarta to Kalimantan can actually lead to disaster if not managed properly. Although one of the goals is equity, all evaluations must find the best solution so that pollution in the second city does not happen again in Kalimantan. Moving the capital city would take a long time and cost a lot of money. With the opening of the new capital city, the new industrial area is expected to accelerate Indonesia's economic growth so that it can bring prosperity to its people. I believe this is all for the progress of the Indonesian nation.

Excellent video, I can easily understand the complicated problems mentioned in this video because it is presented with unique animations and very clear explanations. In my opinion, the capital relocation plan is a good idea, The Indonesian government's plan to relocate the capital is a significant step toward addressing overcrowding, which has been a long-standing issue in Jakarta. As shown in the video, Java is home to 60% of Indonesia's population. Overpopulation has in issues such as air pollution, traffic congestion, and poverty, which have existed for years in Jakarta. The problem of economic inequality is also a big challenge for the Indonesian government, with the decision to move the capital city I hope the welfare of the Indonesian people can be improved by opening up fields for investors so that it opens up many job opportunities so that the problem of economic inequality can be overcome. Thank You.

Such an educational and awesome video! This video explained the contents very well with great visualization. I’m amazed by how detailed your research on making this video. I do appreciate your video, RealLifeLore. This video explains why several countries, including Indonesia, have moved their capital cities. And what I can conclude from this video is that Indonesia has moved its capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan, one of which is because Jakarta is already overpopulated. As a person who lives in Jakarta, I feel how crowded and how busy the city is. Besides that, Jakarta as the capital city already has a heavy burden, besides being the center of government, being the center of business and trade, the center of finance, services and others. For that reasons, I agree with moving the capital city from Jakarta to Kalimantan, because Kalimantan itself is close to other developing areas, so it is hoped that if the capital is move to Kalimantan, it can help advance areas in Indonesia that are still developing or underdeveloped, so all people Indonesia, not only in big cities can feel the development and adequate facilities as experienced by people in big cities, thus Indonesia can be even more advanced.

Thank you for making this video. Very interesting and full of insight. In my opinion, relocate the capital to Kalimantan is a way where Our goverment realize that overpopulation is not a simply issue. Year by year the population tend to growing and there’s no expanssion to the land itself. I can’t say that the idea about relocate the capital is a good idea. Kalimantan is a big heart for us compare to Jakarta considering that most of the big part is Forest. I just hope that our goverment have a sustain plan to make a better place as capital city in a good way without destroy everything especially the Nature.

Another fun facts is: Indonesian Government since Independence (1945) already moved the capital city 5 times in 5 years due to political and military instability: Jakarta (1945-1946) Yogyakarta (1946-1948) Bukittinggi (1948-1949) Yogyakarta (1949-1950) Jakarta (1950-...) So, If the government declare the capital city is Nusantara by 2024 ,then Indonesia government already moved its capital city 6 times. I believe that is the world record for this achievement 😁

very useful video, I learned a lot from this video, in my opinion moving the capital to Kalimantan is actually not very efficient because in my opinion Jakarta is a city that is very, very central to all activities ranging from economy, fashion, education, lifestyle, and others. other. But that doesn't mean I don't support moving the capital city to Kalimantan at all, I think there are good things about this move, especially what I've heard that forest cities will be empowered later. I am very afraid that Kalimantan will be turned into Jakarta and replaced with tall buildings. But there is another positive impact from moving the capital to Kalimantan. First is minimizing the risk of natural disasters because is too crowded and a lot of people in here. And flooding cause by lack of absorption in Jakarta and too much land use for some wordk purposes. Sabina Lutfi (12 IPS 4)

wow great! beforehand I will say thank you for you cause you've made this video, this video is really informative and interesting!   Indonesia changes their capital city from Jakarta to Borneo, I think that the decision to change the capital city was right. Jakarta was too much of a population, because of the large number of people moving in Jakarta, they thought it was because Jakarta was the capital city, and they were wrong, the lack of jobs in Jakarta would cause so much unemployment and the end of so much crime. And it wouldn't be highly strategic to make Jakarta the capital of Indonesia.   For the capital city's move to Borneo is actually having positive and negative effects, it is still a very natural city and is filled with the lungs of the world's forests, and that is the plus point. But if Borneo is to become the capital, many trees are cut down and eliminated for the industrial area and are alarmingly high. But on the positive side, Borneo is highly unlikely for natural disasters, and it also has relatively complete infrastructure As a large vacant lot, the facilities in new locations are quite capable. Ranging from freeways to near international airports.

I live in Indonesia and I love everything except the stupid design of the city.... is a city planner's worst nightmare. I think if a city planner tried to design the worst city, it wouldn't come close to how bad Jakarta is designed. can't believe how "rich" people here are happy to live in central neighborhoods where the streets can barely fit one car in one direction. It doesn't sound crazy to move the capital, start over! this is already f*kd up.

Very informative video. The information is well packaged and the delivery is easy to understand. Moving the capital from Jakarta to Kalimantan is indeed a very good plan considering the reasons that have been described in the video. However, as we all know, with the relocation of the capital city, there will be new infrastructure which will certainly reduce the amount of forest there. Wouldn't that also have a big impact because Kalimantan is one of the world's lungs thanks to its forest area? Therefore, in my opinion, it would be better if the impact of moving the capital city was also explained, not just the reasons why the capital city of Indonesia moved from Jakarta to Kalimantan. That way the information obtained by the audience will be wider because it is discussed from two interrelated sides. Thanks, great video!

what a great video! this video had a good explanation and representation about why another country moved their capital city including indonesia. me as an indonesian , in my opinion about indonesia moving their capital city has rather pros and cons consequences. the pros one is from we know the explanation capital city is known as a reperesentation of the country so, if Indonesia moved their capital city people wil know another part of their city that represents. The cons consequences is when a city became a new capital city the more people would migrates to another new capital city and the city will became as crowded as before and it will keeps on going. but i personally believe that moving the capital city is the right thing to do for a better Indonesia

wow its actually a great video, i jut got a lot of information from that video, as an indonesian i didn't think that the relocation is soo right becasue there's a lot of good and bad effects from that. i agree that jakarta is already messed up, by the people like crowded (population) it gave a lot of another effects for example polution, poverty, education, unemployment, and also social gap, but if the capital city move to kalimantan which is most of the area is still green land (forest) we're just not gonna destroy the oxygen thing but we also destroy the nature, the place of animals live. but if we didn't do the relocation java island will drown cause too much people, i still dont know what is the best solution for this issues but i wish that the government still do research and think for the best solution

wow thank you for your best explained! actually i'm has been living in jakarta and i know jakarta have so many problems, there is overpopulated and traffic jam. jakarta is the biggest city with so many populated. estimated by 2030 populated in jakarta will still grow. many skyscrapes make mainland jakarta will sinking. The government has already thought of a plan to move the capital far away from Jakarta so that population distribution and development are evenly distributed. The government decided Borneo as the new capital city because of the large area and natural resources that cater to the community. Borneo also has a lower disaster risk compared to Jakarta, because most of the active volcanoes are located on the island of Java. The construction for this new capital costs a lot of money and President Joko Widodo hopes that at least by 2024 there will be an office for the government, because of the Covid-19 virus, development will be carried out in stages. Mr. Joko Widodo also hopes that the people will immediately move to the new capital and leave Jakarta to reduce the population.

The location of the capital city must be a strategic location, meaning that the location of the capital city must be easily accessible from various regions and the capital city is usually the residence of the government. I agree if the capital is moved to the Kalimantan area because Jakarta needs a lot of restoration, because Jakarta is the center for Indonesian residents to gather and make Jakarta unhealthy and very crowded and also due to land subsidence in Jakarta and the intensity of the rain which is long enough to make Jakarta prone to flooding and also sometimes traffic jams and the most important thing is that Kalimantan does not have a volcano which means it is very safe for the new capital maybe what I don't agree with is if the capital moves now in my opinion it is better to postpone it until this pandemic is over and I hope my mother This new city is the right and good decision

Hello! thanks for making this video. Java is already pretty good economically so we need to maintain excellent economic growth for other island as well and that problem will be solved by this.

related to the matter discussed in the video, namely the relocation of the Indonesian capital to Kalimantan, I agree with this fact, of course, with the relocation of the capital city to East Kalimantan, the Government has carried out various studies and research that will be used as considerations to choose which location is the right one to be The new capital city of Indonesia. Moreover, the island of Java is already densely populated, and so far Indonesia has only focused on the islands of Sumatra and Java, especially now that Indonesia has the strength of a demographic bonus so that many people are productive. Therefore, if it does not encourage this and is only concentrated in the Sumatra and Java regions and is not encouraged by economic transformation and the use of the demographic bonus, it will not materialize.
