The contradiction here is laughable - she maintains that a life with both P.O.D and adaptability are beneficial, yet she keeps self-aggrandizing her own accomplishments. I thought the competitive spirit was supposed to be thwarted.

She’s wrong. We are designed for problem solving, discomfort and we are goal seeking beings. We have it far far to easy. We have become extremely comfortable and extreme comfort causes weakness. It causes mental illness.

Thank you! Some of my observation: “P”-when I am not crafting, I don’t feel as joyful; O”—despite my fear of interacting with coworkers (especially toxic people), I find overall that I enjoy interacting with my coworkers; “D”—I feel guilty for my downtime, including 2 week staycation, but I am recouperating from so much stress and being under the weather. However, when I am at work, I am the least sick person. What she says makes sense.

Could not have said it better,That's were my study placed me,adapt,my saying was be a chameleon, change to adapt. I have been doing POD,for a long time, only I did not characterize it as you did so brilliantly.I study on brain control, conscious and subconscious; And I thing that would be a catalyst'for your analogy, for we humans are in trouble.I'am going to try to set up a talk,on what I have learned,It changed my life, and it can change your life also.

There are gems within this talk, but I’ve never liked Legos, even before they had rules. I have lots of downtime; I think it gives me too much time inside my head. For me the most healing thing is gratitude. Our speaker has so many accomplishments that must feel great to talk about in public. Seems to me this talk is more for the Haves than the Have Nots.

With all respect to the fact that people watching this come from diverse situations I found great value in her comments and learning. Society does glorify work, and there are also those who must work many hours just to get by. In either case would it not be ideal to have time to be creative (play), socialize, and have downtime? How we get there is often the more difficult question especially when options seem few. TED talks rarely answer this type of question due to time constraints, but it allows us to exercise our own creativity in solving our own problems.

How can one adapt if there unaware/self aware to do so....this perspective was coming from a point of using block buster as an example of not adapting 🤔🤔🤔let me remind you block buster was once successful and yet did not adapt....but what about the ones who have never been nor think they have a chance or shot at success!!!! Well then the one thing would be awareness/self awareness...this speech was speaking on people who are already successful and why they are failing in the time of change which is in the online and streaming era....well yes I can see where adapting can be the one thing to keep a successful business at float ,but as for everyone else this has zero connection or can't in anyway be related as the one thing answer bcuz the one thing answer is and always will be awareness/self awareness period!!!!!!!!! Just saying...🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

well she is forgetting solitary confinement is a state of mind, kind of like what you don't know cant hurt you, if one chooses it, how you feel when you are alone is up to you. if you feel that your missing out on something(friends, etc) then it negatively affects you because it creates a sense of exclusivity that your not integrated with, if you don't value what your being excluded from then you don't care, however lack of adequate stimulation in the environment will result in degradation of the mind

From a privileged perspective.. If high maintenance to pull off the illusion. Many of us are disempowered because you maintain the cultural stereotypes of false beauty. You need to take your own medicine. Try dressing like a disabled person. Try wearing some fake injuries. Try not being able to change without caregivers and then have them abuse you. Stress is being used to abuse the lower classes and you are a participant t in hurting people in your means of presentation, offensive as all the rest. This is easier said than done with few solutions.

Adaptability doesn't neccessarily equate to an awesome life? It equates to survival as opposed to extinction like she said. Need to change the title of the video.
