The slushie is a weird variation of an icecream maker. I'm not sure how common our version at home is, but it's a wooden bucket and a metal canister (I forget what it's made of, It might've been aluminum) in the center that you fill with cream and other ingredients. You're supposed to surround the canister with a lot of ice and salt. There's also a crank that should be connected to the top of the canister with a paddle inside. The ice is supposed to help with keeping it cold or something. But you have to crank it at a relatively fast pace without stopping and it gets tougher as you go on because the icecream is forming.
