I think the reason why the mob grinder isnt working, u didnt have trap doors, mobs are surprisingly smart enough to not drop down a block unless they sense a player, but they think a trapdoor is an actual block and if its opend, they will fall in the water

@W Binge the reason they are spawning outside of the border is because the world border in the nether is glitched and it lets mobs spawn outside but that doesn’t happen in the overworld

There are many things that decide if a mob will spawn or not. The main things are that mobs spawn from the bottom of the world up. Mobs are able to spawn outside of the border. Also trapdoors can trick mobs to fall into the water. However you will not be able to get a working farm without a spawner in a one chunk world because mobs can spawn outside the boarder.

many reasons why the mob grinder didnt work are 1: wasnt on the right high meaning that mobs can spawn outside the border 2: needs trap doors so the mobs think its a block when they try and walk on it falls into the water 3:the spawning platform should be 2 blocks high so the mobs cant jump back on the platform

there's some glitch in terms of servers that for some reason disables mob spawning in certain places anyways, if the mob farm doesn't work, try towering up like 80 blocks above the farm, both people must stay there tho if mobs don't spawn at all, then it's a bug

It'll go down by about 2 and a half food bars, but it won't set you back to your hunger before eating, so it will still work.

Actually it will still go down, the things that make it go down faster are jumping and sprinting

Tip: You could have built the mob grinder underground, at y=0. This increases spawns. The reason most tutorials tell you to build the grinder in the sky to make sure no spawns on the ground. However, your world is so small, you can just light everything and enjoy the rain lol.

Just some tips: •Stone cutter rlly helps with stone bricks •Slabs for mob grinder roof saves time and torches •you can use lava buckets for fudl abd it doesnt use the bucket Rlly good video i especially like your vids on the lifesteal smp

Aside from the smelt wood to make charcoal for a fuel source advice, an good investment of what iron you find would be a couple of hoppers, could use it to kind automate your smelting, whether it’s to make a lot of your fuel, or your bricks. Of course, the advice is kind of a moot point unless you intend to try something like this again. Otherwise, good video! Didn’t know about using bottles to make a second water source, or that you could get honey from beehives!

That mob grinder was the least efficient because when I built in my hardcore world, nothing would spawn

I would have persisted with the mob farm, and used it heavily until you got two zombie villagers, from their a world of possibility is opened up.

Thats what I have done and I have gotten lure 3 fishing rod and diamond armor

If you want to get treasure items from fishing you need a 5 by 5 wide area with a 5 block depth which is why you was only getting fish

2 reasons to why the mob farm wasnt working. First, mobs can only spawn if they are more than 32 blocks away from a player and 2nd you need trap doors for them to actually fall down. And they will despawn when they are more than 128 blocks away.

Maybe, you forgot to add trapdoors on top of the water that pushes mobs down. Because, mobs think that trapdoors are full blocks, thats what I did to mob grinders and hidden hot floor as defence to my base. Please like so that parrot can see.

Am I the only person who is going through a mental breakdown from him using nether brick slabs for the gold farm and then saying it works great when all the pigmen he's killing are from outside of the chunk or from the staircase? Also if they tried hard enough they could get onto the nether roof.
