Winsome saying "play slow" often is definitely funny, but he's usually saying it at exactly the right times. Example, after the TL baron fight where we were over-aggressive he says it the loudest. He's doing a great job as a support, his English seems to be decently strong and is helping translate some things for Berserker. Extremely impressed with him, especially considering these are his first 4 pro games ever.

@Joshua Tessmer Saying "Winsome is from NA" is disingenuous because he was only born here moved away at a young age. He's an LCK player who just happens to have the advantage of not taking up an import slot due to technicalities. Other than his citizenship, he's essentially Korean.

@LuckyGnom last I checked, academy isn’t pro my guy. Consider bezerker and winsome a higher grade tier of jojo. In LCK, bezerker only had interest in joining either Damwon or T1. He didn’t want to join the bottom tier teams. The hype behind bezerker in Korea was similar to Danny in NA but considered better, or Hans sama. He was largely considered to be koreas second best adc behind Gumayusi. Winsome got challenger in Korea only after 2 months of starting to play the game. Became Academy support only a year into playing league. C9 basically got the super best prospects from Korea, and summit is largely considered top 4 best Korean top laners or what they call “the four horsemen” What you see now is C9 at their lowest, and they still stomping. Language issues still exists, and essentially you’re taking 2 different players and matching them up with 2 Na players. Summit is just summit

@Hans Maulwurf well his draft philosophy does take player proficiency and weaknesses into account to a degree, for what I know. It isn't limited to those at all, but if he can fit a comfort pick in a coherent gameplan or avoid making someone play a champ they consistently do poorly with, he will; at least that's what I got by watching his drafts commentaries. That is to say, I definitely expect C9 players' champion pools to expand noticeably with time, but comfort picks will still probably appear more on average granted they're in a playable state. When he flames some players for having stale champion pools he isn't flaming them not being able to work with certain champions, but for not even trying them in the first place, because he knows players nowadays are so mechanically good that they could play most champs competently if they just tried. But everyone has a handful of champions they're just better at, and some others that just don't click no matter what or are just too demanding and he respects that

Vor 4 Monate

What's nice about the loss was that we were able to hear from their comms in the last teamfight which lost them the game. They were all acknowledging their mistakes throughout the game and no excuses were uttered. Winner's mentality right there

Vor 4 Monate
Chuin Yih

@Hans Maulwurf on their own, jhin rakan are weaker picks compared to the rest of the viable picks, but the intent here is drafting around enabling karthus to do true damage. The seraphine gp hovers can be good if they didn't commit to rakan earlier, or else it just give the enemy too much incentive to build merc boots and mr, also makes rakan terribly off-theme. There is definitely a pyke angle if they lock in mid earlier, but we can all agree that it wasn't Malice playing karthus and Rookie playing irelia on stage, and that is what decided the game.

Vor 4 Monate

@Veexliat Perhaps, with that being said Summit did his fair share of mistakes getting caught. We can't just defend him because of his name. I've seen Summits highlights in champion queue and he can 1v9 though, especially on Irelia.

Vor 4 Monate
Veexliat
Veexliat

@Matthew Minogue I think Summit isn't used to Irelia missing ult and then flashing to a thresh wall. He likely still thought that he flashes in and then Irelia ults and it's a free win. Fudge wasn't very vocal about losing the ult. I don't know, maybe pro players always see when teammates miss ults, but to my gold brain Summit seems to be going for the easy win not yet realizing Fudge already missed ult

@Stephan I think all agree on that one, the Karthus was clearly good that game, it was just an execution error with Blaber getting R cancelled 3 fights in a row. I think with some more practice, we could see this pick again from Blaber, and hopefully it'll work as intended next time :P That said, Blaber's farming on Karthus was really solid, and to be frank, that's probably the extent of the practice that LS would have wanted to focused on with Blaber, which would be why we ended up seeing the kinds of blunders we did.
