As a native Rhode Islander, this was my favorite video you’ve made haha you literally walked by my house and my parents house!😂 But for anyone who plans to do this, the “greenway” which we just call the bike path here isn’t always safe at night in certain spots. It runs along side my house and we’ve seen some scary things happen. So please be safe.💗

I live in RI. The East Bay Bike path isn't so dangerous now as it was 15 years ago. I'd argue it's worse in the barrington/warren/bristol area than in east providence or west warwick.

Here’s a slightly easier one for you two. At Hancock, Maryland, you can walk from Pennsylvania across Maryland to West Virginia in about five miles or less. Not as scenic as your Rhode Island trek though. Great video!

Kara and Nate, this video really touched my heart. I drove my son and godson across the country on a great end of the summer road trip from Los Angeles to Rhode Island where I dropped them off for their first year of college. Then I drove back by myself with a box of Kleenex for company. I am missing them so much, so it was incredibly fun for me to see every detail of Rhode Island as you walked across the state. It made me feel a little bit like I was there. I even surprised myself when I got emotional when you arrived in Providence and I could see the buildings they can see from their dorm room. This video was anything but boring. Thank you for bringing a mom a bit closer to her boys. xo

It looks really nice, missed opportunity to go geocaching though, there’s lots of good locations here! I love this because my dad would walk cross-country when I was a kid. I remember going on a family hike to a local lake. It was an incredible day. If you ever come visit Spokane, Washington look me up for an outback tour of the inland northwest.

i love this idea but i also really like that it brought up the conversation of how hard it is to commute by walk comfortably, safely, and without feeling judgment in the usa. this wasn't too bad but a lot of places you would have to either walk on the highways to get there in a timely manor. everything is so car-centric and designed in a way that makes a mile walk in an urban or suburban area complicated and unsafe. you are unintentionally advocating for this and it's a conversation more people should have! more safe and straight forward sidewalks and public transportation:-)

I completely agree. It’s annoying that their isn’t sidewalks or safe areas to walk. Even biking around here is super dangerous

I walk alot where I live at there is a silent stigma but I don't really care. I have no choice since I can't afford nor allowed to drive a vehicle becuase of health issues. Walking is good for the body,mind and spirit.

You guys make me laugh 😂👏 you have traveled the world for years and probably walked loads of times like this over and over... Well done though!

I'm only a few minutes in but this reminds me so much of through-hiking. I've done portions of the AT and PCT and my husband has done the entire AT. 30 mile days were pretty normal and YES, you can basically eat whatever you want. By the end of the AT he smelled like ammonia because his body was literally consuming muscle to stay alive regardless of him downing the entire mcdonals menu more than once. There's lots of places with food challenges or all you can eat for hikers on the AT and whenever we're in the area we stop by crossings with pizza and beer to do trail magic. Left Matt a couple coffees he can hopefully use to continue his jounrey! He's currently in Florida in one of my favorite places.

Amazing job, really enjoyed the video. I wonder if height has anything to do with it because Google is just going off an average and taller people have a longer stride so tend to walk faster. I'm over 6 feet and it always takes me slightly less than Google's estimate to walk somewhere.
