Voynich Manuscript Revealed (2018)

J. Dryden
J. Dryden

Let me try to explain the challenge of translating 600 years old phonetic Turkic of an unknown dialect to an English speaker. Consider this famous line by Shakespeare that is about 430 years old: Hamlet: "Get thee to a nunn'ry, why woulds't thou be a breeder of sinners?" This famous line may not mean much to a modern English speaker but Hamlet is essentially telling Ophelia that it would be better for her to live in chastity, protected from other people, instead of becoming a breeder of sinners. Obviously, this translation and explanation required a contextual interpretation by an expert. Now imagine English was a phonetic language – in other words, one would spell words as he/she hears them. Imagine how an Irishman or a Scotsman would pronounce and therefore phonetically spell the same sentence "Get thee to a nunn'ry, why woulds't thou be a breeder of sinners?" quite differently than, for example, the Queen of England. And now imagine the author was indeed a Scotsman but one has to have some knowledge of how Scottish accent was like 430 years ago. If English was a phonetic language, an English speaker would pronounce this sentence the following way, according to the Cambridge Dictionary. Hamlet: "Get di tu eɪ nʌnəri waɪ wʊdənt daʊ bi eɪ bridər əv sɪnər”. Obviously, the spelling would be somewhat different if pronounced by a Scottish accent. Make your guess how different this sentence would sound if it was a Scottish accent 430 years ago. Now let’s replace these characters with random symbols without further complicating it with the ancient Scottish pronunciation. Hamlet: "Get di tu eɪ nʌnəri waɪ wʊdənt daʊ bi eɪ bridər əv sɪnər” Now imagine all you have is the above sentence with these unknown symbols and no information about the origin of the language. Good luck working the problem backwards and forwards and using these characters try to translate this sentence into modern English. This is exactly the reason it is almost impossible to make sense of the Voynich text if the person does not have a deep knowledge of the particular language of the era it was written. In addition, this person should also have the patience and dedication to work through an unknown, likely made-up alphabet and the starting assumption has to be that the language is of a particular origin and then test this possibility. I believe Voynich manuscript can only be deciphered by trial and error by people who have the in-depth historical knowledge of their native language and patience to work through decoding the unknown characters. And sooner or later one of them will stumble upon the correct answer. It is therefore plausible how this man might actually be the one.

J. Dryden Your explanation is flawed because you start with a flawed premise, which you oddly stare at the end. Matching sounds is probably the worst method towards decipherment, and most cryptographers will look at all the previous work done. Here we see someone simply matching words between 2 languages and he doesn’t even have a working knowledge of the Voynich syntax.

@5150Slider English is not Phonetic. ... With phonetic languages, there is a direct relationship between the spelling and the sound. It is important to understand that English is not a phonetic language. So we often do not say a word the same way it is spelled

When Champollion deciphered the hieroglyphs he found a key, the cartouche. Guessing that these were names and that Egyptian had at least some symbols that were part of an alphabet, he deciphered Cleopatra and Ptolemy. How did he know what those letters sounded like? Because their Greek counterparts were found in Greek literature and the Greek was sitting below along with the Coptic. Now imagine the Greek (and Coptic) were not there. There would be no way that Champollion would know what those letters, if they were letters, sounded like. But even with his discovery of this key, he still couldn`t understand the script. He could only read it. Big difference. Eventually he did with the help of his fluency in Coptic. There is no way your methods can decipher something that has no key, and no proven related language. You simply picked the language you are acquainted with and worked the manuscript to fit your theory. The most you have is the remote possibility that there are common words between Old Turkic and the manuscript which would not be much help in deciphering, just as knowing the English word for "ketchup" that comes from the ancient malay word for tamari (kecap) would not help in deciphering ancient Malay. That's what makes this poor, and probably dishonest, scholarship, and why experts must reject it.

Guys, I think I just solved the Voinich "mystery!! This is how. It is said that the person who discovered the book was called Michał Habdank - Wojnicz. Now since he was Polish, he liked to use the pseudonym or nickname "Wojnicz" because it sounds Polish, but that was NOT HIS REAL NAME!!! Ok, so why did he choose Wojnicz? Let's find out. He knew the book was written in a phonetic language, most famous phone-tic language is Phoen-ician. Phoenicians were a civilization that lived in coastal Anatolia, today's Turkey!!!! So the very name of the script, "Voinich", was telling us all the time in what language it was written, "Voinich-ian"!!! With this great video by this turkish family, we now also know how exactly Voinichian or Phoenician sounded like, like Turkic! Bingo, I think this is IT, honourable students. Any objections?

The only reason we hadn't found out earlier is because Europe had delayed in exposing it to (but not really) foreign cultures much older. Also suggests Ottoman origin and as we know that culture was far advanced Europe "scientifically" and "culturally" at the time. Honestly when I first heard about this and saw the writing I though they should probably ask Middle Eastern experts because like many old Semetic dialects (proto European) has that music script look, how non scientific of me, but hey on a hunch if it was under the control of someone like me, we would have decided it, just after it was found. Europe on the other hand assumes if they couldn't do it. It must have been cleaver jibirish!, of witch actually shows how dishonest, stupid, and close mindedness that has probably help back the human understanding of a great many things, also idk but call me a bit dogmatic myself but if a Ottoman wrote it, and it was probably stolen, then doesnt that mean it belongs to the book belongs to Middle East the culture it sprang? Like all the other "greatest books" as the world turns, with the exception of course the jrr tolkien "mythology", and like most thing with origin are atleast suggestively racist at the very least, and making fun comparatively of the untold war King Solomon wise "cough" started "cough" against a much more uncivilized "cough" men of the west. Of course reversing the winner's and looser, as much as the good and evil. 🤔

@mattblack   Amy  wtf would that matter? Aren't east asians, Iranians and some Turkish ppl considered to be "white"...? What exactly is the cut off for being "white"..? If a "white" person becomes darker than an Argentinian/Iranian/Columbian/Cambodian/Mexican/Afghan/Egyptian/Italian etc., do they cease to be "white"? If they get even darker than that do hey become "black"....? I've heard ("black")people say "he/she is white as fuck", when referring to another "black person", on an almost daily basis where I used to live. Explain that. Why is there a "Spanish/Latino (Identifies as White") option on the Census? Is Jon Stewart a "white" person, or a Jew? I don't expect an answer from you because I've asked this question probably 20 times across various youtube comment sections and have gotten zero responses thus far..., which is abnormal for the internet, where countless people always have something to say. Quit blaming/hating "white men" for your misfortunes and lack of an investigative mind. If you were curious/inquisitive/skeptical you wouldn't blindly form your opinions based on whatever bullshit is fed to you and you'd know "white" people and "black" people are not a real thing. Only homo sapiens. The iron in everyone's blood came from SUPERNOVAE (exploding stars, which create all of the elements on the periodic table from iron to everything else past iron). The entirety of the Universe was smaller than the head of pin needle at the moment of the big bang. If you can't see the beauty behind the fact that everyone and everything came from that one tiny object of infinite density, then you barely deserve to be alive, imo that is. How fucking dumb are you..? Have you ever read a book that a school didn't make you read? Have you ever thought about anything on your own or do you just spew out whatever hate you have? Fuck, I hope the conspiracy that there is a "secret breakaway advanced civilization (like in the movie 'Elysium' for example)" are true. Why is the majority of humanity so fucking vain/racist/stupid/ignorant/sociopathic morons who think they're none of those things? It certainly feels like all the extreme cognitive dissonance that goes on in the book "1984" is where the majority of humanity is today. Sorry to rant like that but sometimes I just can't stand how fucking dumb/hateful most people are. Quit being an ignorant ass victim and read/watch/listen to something that isn't about celebrities or politics. Education systems of the world kill your love/desire to learn. You can find that love and desire to learn again when you stop blaming everyone/everything else for why you suck at life.
