Where I'm from there's a lot of brick and mortar places where you can buy meditarreanean disshes for like 6$, so you can live mostly anywhere and get relatively healthy meals. I was living near Dallas, and it was tricky man. I ended up putting quite a bit of weight. So I empathize with you guys.
