Heres my idea for an improved Chris Snack. Give Doug voice commands to act as “coaching” for Chris Snack which will alter the chances of random inputs, like “swim” increasing the jump option for him to actually swim or “go back” to increase his chances of going left.

Normally I’d side with chat, but something about ChrisSnack really speaks to me. Never thought I’d see a human vs machine story, in which the machine was the underdog. Chris’s entire existence is a handicap.

After watching this I'm convinced Twitch chat is essentially a random AI that can proactively switch between multiple presets (at about a 2-6 second delay), but that still makes them better than random.

the thing is the AI would have to be able to actually tell what's happening on-screen or it's not really learning anything at all, just being randomly punished or randomly rewarded for random actions chat is really just semi-random since they can sort of coordinate and can see what's happening in the game

There can be only one "maximum value" output and after AI find it and repeat it; twitch chat can only try to mimic it but they can't repeat it perfectly just like the AI, so, F our creator and all of it's BS I guess?

though chat is still very random, I'd say chat is better for one simple reason: chat can adapt, chris snack cannot. if chat sees that they have to go left, they'll go left, even if it's slowly and full of randomness. if chat sees water, they'll jump more. but chris snack? he has the same random pattern for every situation. if there's a situation that requires a special method to get past, chris snack cannot adapt. that is his weakness.

Similarly not only is chat more flexible and will adapt to the situation (loose use of the word adapt here lol). But chat also has a goal from the start. They know where to go and what to do.
