What is the name of this commentator? I love his ability to pronounce names. He does it with such ease and panache. The highlights aren't as good as the NBC ones, but his voice is the thing that brings me day after day to view this coverage.

As a french person, i can tell you he has a very good prononciation indeed. I also noticed it.

Was watching the French commentary and as Politt is heard saying "Fucking hell" twice, there was absolutely no "Apologies for the language there" - they just let it be, it was beautiful.

@Frodo I think there's always been a puritannical edge towards things in English speaking countries - if you remember the Helen Lovejoy catchphrase in The Simpsons "won't someone please think of the children," that those on TV are role models and they should lead by example. It's a tedious sort of logic that is divorced from all logic when kids pick up bad language from everywhere including their parents.

I always wondered why in English TV there are so many beeps and cuts. In German TV, they would not even think about cutting that part out. You would hear much worse language.

Yea good form, but :P - These carbon frames are like 7 kilos. I can lift a fully kitted carbon MTB frame just as easy, its nothing like the heavy 15 kilo commuter bikes people are used to...its like lifting a stuffed bag with clothes, and im not strong at all.

Well that's a bummer Sagan had to drop out. But Bora came through in the end today.

Did you catch the start this morning? A Skoda Enjaq was used by the Commissaires vehicle. It may have been used on other days but I hadn't seen it. Is this the TDF heading to Net Zero? A least the riders didn't have to suck in the exhaust. You can see two Skoda crossing the line behind Politt.

I don't know much about Skoda's car models. I assume the Enjaq is an electric car? On the German TV broadcast during one of the earlier stages of the TDF they talked about the cars they use. During flat stages they use electric cars but not at the mountain stages, because the batteries won't last.
