To my knowledge, the only person who saw "the next Joe Montana" was that guy and to an extent, Bill Belichick (according to a biography) Abe and even then Belichick still had his doubts. Even after he was drafted, Tom discovered the scouts notes on him, things he noted during practice, and they were similar to what you've written. But he had the hard work and clutch going for him. That criticism from that person he specifically looked up to pushed his drive to a hundred. The most messed up part is that that man died before he ever got to see saw Tom play a game. There's a little documentary about it.
