I've watched this many times now. The phrase "the age of starlight comes to an end" always gets me, because it's something that seems so permanent right now that it's difficult to comprehend it as an 'age', an era that will end. This video always makes me feel so small.

It touches a nerve with me too. I believe if and when the age of starlight ends. That it will return again. And so may all we.

The craziest part is that even while time intervals are increasing exponentially as the video plays out, I reached a certain point thinking we must be halfway through the video only to find myself barely 10% through.

Yes, that part makes me so sad but so happy all at once because we get to witness this moment in time!

People talk about these sort of things making them feel small or insignificant and I get it, but consider how pointless it would all be if there was never any living things around to witness it. You could argue we're (life, not necessarily just humans) are the entire point of it all.

When you look at the time (past, present, future) the birth of our Universe happened literally "yesterday" and we don't have a clue how it happened. So we can't possibly know how it will end. and that the Earth will cease to exist as will everything humans ever created (thinking of those creators who wanted to believe that their works were infinite...unless humans find somewhere to live beyond the Earth). For some reason, I find that a beautiful concept that inspires me to value everything that exists right now and that creation doesn't have to be about what survives on an infinite timeline, but that creation can be the pleasure in creating something that motivates us and others at present and in the near future.

This broke my brain and brought me back into reality and perspective after a very emotionally difficult and strenuous period in my life in a way that I can’t even begin to explain. After sticking it out to the end of the video I gave my wife the tightest hug of all time and thanked everything that I was able to share this time with her. Nothing happens... until it does. In the begining, there was nothing. But even that nothing was a little unstable, so it became something. That something will become nothing, but probably will become something again. This may have happened many times before, as some believe. Headspin thought: If God created the Universe, God must be outside, independant of the Universe. This would mean that God has always existed, also outside of time. This does not make sense (to limited human imagination, anyway). If God is simply a metaphor for the Universe, then that means the Universe probably sprung from nothing which also does'nt make sense! No matter how much we will discover, it is likely such things will remain a mystery forever.

This video really helps with depression. I don't know what's the explanation, but for some reason facing hypothetical death of the universe, it's life we will never experience is soothing. Finally the human perspective on problems becomes meaningless and everything becomes a blink of an eye. And the fact Universe one day will rest like all of us makes it almost humane.

I watch universe related videos whenever I'm upset. It really does help. It's sort of therapy I guess.

Let me tell you the reason behind it, you get realizations of how you think so big of our life instace is when you imagine universe which is so big you get detached to that reality and attach to this vast reality , where realize you are just a tiny spec in this huge universe, ou dont even matter , you will just come and go , why take yourself so seriously , this lightens you up and start feeling good .

I always come back to this masterpiece and, every single time I do, the end always gives me chills. The sentence "time becomes meaningless" is so short, yet so incredibly powerful and the complete opposite of "meaningless"... When the reference we base our whole lives on cease to have a purpose. It's strong and poetic in a sense I cannot put into words properly. This video is a gem, honestly.

It's the same with the stars. We know about the star cycle of life and death, and that's not hard to infer that in a far future all of them will be extinct.

Trakaplex This would be great for us, but the stars can't avoid the finitude of their lives. We are lucky to exist in the current phase of the Universe.

I've seen a lot of these and want to know how accurate it is. I wanna say though, beautiful job on the editing, music, peoples quotes and narration. A well done video for that, but I wish I knew more about how accurate this all is.
