Huge Iced Earth fan here. Their music has meant a lot to me, they really changed my life. I know every album by heart. I've met them too and they were very nice to me. Was heartbroken by Jon Schaffer's implication in the capitol bullshit, as well as his COVID denial, and haven't really been able to listen to IE since, pretty much. It sucks hard, because their music was a huge part of my life, but it just isn't the same now. This album was a very weird product and it truly baffled me, when I first listened to it. My take, sad as it sounds: it was a way to quickly release something "new" and make some money to help pay for Jon's legal expenses, seeing as he is in deep trouble after the riot. The music is all stuff that already existed, rearranged to sound like background fantasy music. The spoken stuff was partly already existing lyrics and partly new stuff that probably didn't take long to write. It's familiar stuff, if you know Jon. And obviously recordings the vocals wouldn't take long, you could probably do it all in one day. So, yeah, I think this album was simply a way to make some money as quickly as possible. The fall of Jon and Iced Earth is truly depressing.

I had the misfortune of coming by a Tom M video earlier today wherein he said he had the "#2 pop song on the charts" and positioned himself as the David/ independent artist vs. the Goliath of Sam Smith, producers, and the major labels. His music is apparently better and more authentic because he's the sole writing / production credit on his songs. Yo I had never heard of A Narrative Soundtrack by Iced Earth before but the way you described it sounded very funny so I decided to give it a listen. The first track I could not stop laughing. Like the lyrics, there not even lyrics, narration I guess, is like Elder Scrolls or Game of Thrones dialogue put alongside production that sounds like stock fantasy music that you would find on YouTube. And after listening to this album, I love it. Don’t get me wrong it’s terrible but it’s the best thing ever like it is so god damn funny. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to listen to a so bad it’s good record. It’s sad that it hasn’t been getting mainstream attention because it is such a “great” album!😊😂

Finally an album i like made the worst album list! But seriously i don't think Will of the People is really that bad. It's not masterpiece but it's fun rock album with fun riffs and catchy hooks. It's silly but silly in a fun way. I don't think it's on the same level as other albums in this list.

I loved X. I don't think it's really fair to compare WLR to Opium's other albums, because WLR was an introduction to the world of Opium/homixide, and/or rage music. It encompasses the highly energetic moshpit tracks, the gang shit, and then the chill atmospheric stuff. But X or No stylist or Homixide lifestyle are reinterpretations of the things listed above. And it's also the fact that X doesn't have a focus on lyrics or production in that sense because the album is meant for moshing. Just look at the XMAN tour. The album's goal is banging basses, some catchy lyrics and trippy synths, just so the opium fans can just mosh, not give a fuck and have fun in the concerts. So of course in terms of creatively or musically, X is not that good of an album, but it does achieve its intended goal.

Plagues of Babylon was the last Iced Earth project I listened to and it was pretty good. Sad to see their downfall.

Hot take: Green Day was never as good as people make them out to have been. Dookie had good singles, but the album was decent at best. There are far better pop punk acts out there.

Honestly Nevermind is overhated. It's really atmospheric and chill. I really enjoyed it.

On MGK and pop punk, there’s so many dope shit happening but it sucks that the music industry isn’t giving a shit about them. Magnolia park and Pinkshift making moves and dropped dope records this year! 🔥

I hope so…I hear too much about MGK that I just wish that someone else can finally get mainstream attention.
