The REAL Reasons For The Fall of League of Legends

    ExilExil

Today, let's talk about the fall of league of legends. Is league of legends dying? Is League of Legends going to die? What can Riot do to fix their game? With Worlds 2020 coming up, an item rework in season 11 and 2021, mythic items, Samira and Seraphine, KDA, and Take Over... what about ranked and solo queue?

The champion reworks are a big reason for the death of the game. The fact you think old Poppy was bad proves you haven't been playing LoL very long. Old Poppy was the hardest carry in the game and deleted champions in team fights. Tanks, adcs, didn't matter. EDIT: Oh you're a nerff@@ggggg. Makes sense.

Skills in season 3: costs 80 mana, deal 180 damage, stun for 2 seconds Skills in season 11: costs 50 mana, however if you have shares invested in the renewable energy sector it instead costs 1% of your next shares dividend. The target enemy champion checks if they have milk in the fridge, damage dealt is equal to the expiry date of milk. Stun duration is equal to the closest ally champions grandmothers date of passing

@Lecherous Lizard maybe you're just bad at playing with Shaco? Have you ever stop to think that it's all about you? Maybe you don't know how to utilize a jungler like that? Ik this sounds weird to you (since you're bad) but your playstile actually influences other players in the game. Maybe you're always pushing lane while shaco likes to gank when lane is pushed into you? It's just easier to set up his stuff like that. Maybe you don't ever give him a chance to gank for you. While at all those reasons you would be amazing target for enemy Shaco. As i said Shaco likes to gank when you keep your freeze. Have you ever think about it like that? It's pointless blaming outside factors when everyone else is playing the same game but they get different results... Just admit to yourself that you're the problem and that's onna be an amazing improvement.

The bit about the novelty factor really hurt. I got so nostalgic thinking about those "first moments", like when I played old sion and built nothing but Zeals, and then bragged how good it was to my friends. Maybe that's what I loved so much about the game back then, how crude and casual it was. Nobody knew what they were doing and it was just so fun to see so many people experiencing the game their own way with those own jank builds. Idk. Sorry for the rant just got emotional at midnight cause of that lol.

A modern Sona would be Sona with a ghajipillion modifying bonuses and shady tie in meme-y lore with new gamebreaking abilities. For example... I present to you, the singing scourge "Wellerman": a pirate from Bilgewater who claims he saw a murder ghost murder an entire crew by marking the ground with X after a drunken night of bar hopping. He has an accordion and sings shanties while on the high seas, uplifting spirits and maintaining teh culturez, telling tales of kooky captains, kinky religions, and terrifying horrors beneath the waves that he's definitely seen... at least that's what his tattoos, single white eye and scars say. Each melody (each a different shanty reference) deals aoe dmg of different types (physical, magical, true) with a root or charm ult that refreshes all allies' cooldowns if hit (move over Senna heals, cd redux is true bardic inspiration). Each shanty also buffs ally stats, no shields (shields are too OP) just a color aura so you know Veigar just got a 23.7% ad bonus for 1.46 sec (who will be reporting for using the wrong shanty). But wait! Once he hits lvl 11 he scales like Pokémon Go's EXP based on which melody you played more (Kayn style). Need AP? Spam the Drunken Sailor W. AD? Q up Leave her, Johnny. Your Swain just barely missed the penta? Ult him so he can ult+e again and get that runner and you get that assist gold, cd redux is an amazing new feature that's definitely not broken which is why every new champ will have it... Wellerman is the perfect modern Sona that buffs the team and fills any existing team comp gap, while fleshing out the lore. He's also got dark skin for representation and is not a pandering sexy girl until the new Star Guardian skins... and he took me maybe 7 min to type on mobile with a stylus because broken screen. Looking forward to the fan art and hate! New champs are teh bestest!!!1

One of the coolest ways Dota 2 balances is by nerfing weaknesses or buffing strengths. This creates core hero identities where heroes excel at the thing(s) they were designed to do but also have exploitable weaknesses. This introduces a very rich form of team composition. In League of Legends, things are designed to be homogenized but with the exception of new champions having overloaded kits, effectively making older champions kind of obsolete- the ones that aren't have been either reworked, buffed extensively, or certain new items or rune combinations make them strong.

Can I just say. What made this game amazing to me was trying to have my own "pro" scene where I make friends then turn it into a team. Then as a team we improve to reach our goals. Maybe a tournament win here and there. Now it's so hard to make friends. Everyone is upset. Everyone is angry. Everyone is frustrated. Gone are the days where u put in 15 games of a champ because u had fun playing it and then it clicks and u play another 40 and go "wow I actually improved and look at my record" Now it's one bad story after another. I miss the good old days. I really do.

Solid video! I started playing league in 2011 and got hooked immediately. The game felt fresh and even though I now realise it looked like crap and was super unbalanced compared to today, those times were still more fun than todays game. Especially around season 3 and 4. Atleast from my point of view, I feel like back then, the game wasn't as team-centered and objective focused, and you could actually 1v9 if you were good. Nowadays if you're winning lane but the other lanes are losing, atleast in plat+, you're gonna need a miracle to win. Because mechanical prowess and skill expression isn't integral anymore, you rarely get that "Hell yeah we won because I carried", and that's a huge loss for the feel of the game. Nowadays I play ARAM because the community is more wholesome and that casual all brawl style of play is just more fun than having to think about wave management and jungle timers.

Personally I feel a large part of the problem with League of Legends now a days is that Riot introduces champions, items, and balance changes based around the professional players. And I mean like the ones that are always at the tournaments and put butts in seats, so to speak. They only take feedback from pro players and completely disregard the other 99% of their player base when the opinion of both the professional and the intermediate players are, or at least should be, equally valid and be given at least a 60/40 difference. Yes the professional players will know more about what needs to be done than the average Joe that's hard stuck in ELO Hell, as when people are playing like pros, the champions seem fair and balanced. Sylas and Illaoi seem fair and balanced when watching people in high diamond/grandmaster play them/against them. Put Sylas and Illaoi in Iron, Bronze, Silver, or Gold and they're just broken champions with horribly overpowered movesets. Also it feels as if Riot has been developing the game lately to support shorter, more chaotic matches with more action and I feel that decision was made with complete disregard for the player base. The high octane professional matches are fun to watch, absolutely. But it also has the added financial benefit of making people think they can do that so they get the game, spend money on a champion and skin, then get murdered beyond belief and quit. It also means they can squeeze in more matches during tournaments, which means more ad time and revenue generation. LoL is a perfect example in my opinion of what happens when you cater to the super elite and leave the everyman to fend for themselves.

9:25 I couldn't agree more with you! Back in the good old days, like S2-S3, the gaming experience was soooo much better than nowdays. In my opinion, the fact, that you HAD to play different roles brought so much excitement to the game. That is why I fell in love with this game back at that time, the possibilities, the learning curve, was much more gripping! For me, being able to play any lane, any role, any champ brought joy, and it is thanks to that good old system! Right now, it is just pure misery to play. Everybody has a MAIN, and can not even touch other lanes besides his/her MAIN lane/role. They don't even want to try other things....

unpopular opinion about the powercreep, it's not necessarily the champions or items that are becoming so broken, i think its more of an issue of gold income being higher in the game than it has even been before. It is not hard to chip away 2.5 plates and then use herald for another 2.5 plates + tower first blood to get a thousand gold lead easily onto someone. if you combine that with a couple of kills that you might manage to get youre already at a 2000 gold lead at around 10 minutes into the game.

@tarkhamknight yeah the biggest issues are definitely in the items, a great example would be hull breaker, when used on literally any bruiser they become unkillable doing a bunch of damage and making fighting them in their minion wave a complete no go but what’s most broken about it is that it’s so cheap (2800 gold) for an item so strong. But it’s not just the items as riots balance team just seems to be given a whole block of cocaine before designing a champ/VGU just look at Akshan and viego I don’t even know what the fuck is going on there.

League was funnier in the old days because people didn't know how to play League. @Have a nice day! Viego is an outlier. Most champions nowadays get released and if you weren't particularly interested about said champion before, you'll only learn it in the game when the champion gets picked or banned. Before you'd be greeted by the champion when you logged in with an animation and (usually) great music to accompany it. I still remember how Nami was the first login screen I saw, how it was followed by Vi and then by Snowdown Showdown login screen with Fiddlesticks. it's a simple problem. riot only has one version of the game that is constantly changing. add "classic" league the way WoW added classic WoW. players will choose the version of the game that makes them happier, and if they get bored or frustrated with one, they can go back to the other version. smash bros does this too. people love melee and it never changes. but if someone is bored with melee, they can play ultimate. speedrunning is also very popular, an entire community that revolves around playing stagnant games. meta changes that occur are player-driven (discovering new glitches, strategies, etc.) and not forced by the company (patches.) I have no clue what hurdles Riot would have to overcome to make this possible, but it is a proven system that has served other companies well. maybe Riot could ask players to vote on their favorite season and then just release that as its own version of the game with minimal or no patches.

Riot has said that they aren't against releasing an old version, the problem is that it'd require a ton of work to make those old builds of the game function and safe on modern hardware (you can't just expect a 9 year old version of the game to just run on their modern client smoothly without issues) and software (especially the security, the old security infrastructure on those old builds and clients are so outdated, it'd be a nightmare to get them up to modern standards), and that would mean that they would have to have their best developers spend their time on it and they want those developers to spend their time on modern day things, personally I'd rather they spend their time on it and get it done because I'd actually start playing the game again if they did, I feel like if they ever did release an old version it'd be HUGE, because so many people miss old League, hell I'd be happy if they just created an offline version of those versions where you could only play against bots and maybe local LAN multiplayer and stuff, it'd be so much fun to play around with but I doubt that will happen.

I think League is starting to develop the same problem that has affected games like WoW. Riot is making champions with abilities that fit a lot of different roles. They're giving you the option to change your playstyle with items. This doesn't really sound bad first BUT when they give you the option to buy items that make your Jinx dash like a jungler, items that make your Udyr go invisible like an assassin, items that can give every champion Vayne's W, there's gonna be a problem. Nothing is unique anymore. Every champion/class can literally fit in every category now. I know the new season is gonna be a fun experience, but I fear it's not gonna last long...

That's a reasonable assessment.. I get so pissed at people screaming to ban everyone but you raise a real mechanics issue. Taric was ruined with his rework, I was a Taric main until they absolutely gutted him and I'm not alone in hating how they changed him. No longer is he a durable sustainable tank with some burst, now he has no damage, the weakest sustain and trades in the entire game, bad scaling and increased mana issues, all of those I dealt with because he was my favorite champ. These last two seasons have ruined him entirely because defensive, reaction based, non flashy 1v5 characters are just useless in a meta where you literally can't build for survivability and mana and one or two kills starts the snowball rolling on anyone but an adc, which really seems like the opposite of how league was when it was a video game and not a complete mess.

As an EUNE player i know what this video is talking about. League of Legends used to be a nice game but riot manage to make it unplayable. Before you blame the community, the toxic or feeding players think what this company is doing about that. Weekly Patch Notes, Bans for chat (can disable) but not for feeders and intentional griefers (can't do anything). And off course new champs and skins. Why? For the money!!! So next time you 're gonna give money to this company consider that you pay the company that destroys your fun! Game is dying by its own hand and those who keep playing and paying it just delaying its end!

11 months later this statement still holds up. I started playing league with my friends around September when this video was made. And I was having a blast with my friends playing URF and even if I inted I still had a great time. Now that I know how the game works and all the mechanics, playing this game lately has given me nothing but frustration even when I win.

I haven't played much at all. I found out recently that I even had an account when we were setting up to play against each other in my friend group. After half had left so we were only 5 people left we went into a game against other players (not ranked) and as all the people who knew what they were doing had left it was just complete chaos and that was probably the most fun I have had in this game. I played lee sin top, we had a support who roamed between the lanes to help out, our jungler had never played jungle before and had to look up what to kill while we were playing and the enemy team had a yasuo who seemed to know what he was doing. The hype whenever we came together to kill that yasuo player was so god damn fun. The game ended when we decided to leave two players in our base which only had two towers left and went to get baron. We knew that we most likely would lose because of it but it didn't matter if we won or lost for us and it was just a fun thing to do. I don't think that game would have been nearly as fun if we had any player in there who was actually good at the game as they would've shot called and the chaos aspect wouldn't have been there.

@LH TK yeah at that specific point you might be right. But I don´t know how many ppl one trick like that (and I don´t really think there are so many of them compared to the rest). For me it´s a matter of right dedication. One tricking just to rank up might be the wrong idea, however if you improve your macro gameplay based on few champions in your pool, you will eventually rank up.

I feel like you got this right, I remember falling down to my chair after fighting a 2h+ game and wining by a thin margin because you managed to grab an ace at baron and turn the whole game around out of a crazy teamfight where everyone had to sync up and collaborate to pull it off. I'm playing a bit today and it feels like the whole game is designed to last 15-20 minutes, extremely 1 sided and oriented around being able to 1 man army the game. Every game feels dull tbh. #Bring Back OG Evelyn

it's started to become a game of chance whether or not i would win. It's all about in match making which team was randomly selected to have the majority of the better players. after that it doesn't matter. the game 9 out of 10 times is decided by who you were placed with.

I'd say for autofill add an option on the select mode where you can pick a preferred role, but along with that have a button that lets you get auto-filled. So if you're ok with auto-fill u can click it and get faster queues, but if u only want one lane you have the option to not get auto-filled for faster queues.

Great video, and mostly agree with the points, just think you are either being too polite, or naive to think that Riot can't do some of those corrections, or have neglected them. I am quite sure, like you briefly mentioned, that they have their favorite champions, and that they force imbalances periodically, on purpose. That has to be an order that comes top-down in the development, and related to their money-making/new customers appealing recipe.

It's been a hot minute since I've played LoL, but I'm thinking of getting back into it. The main reason I stopped playing was simply because most of my friends that played moved on to other games and I didn't enjoy playing by myself. But one of my biggest gripes with the game was that they removed Teambuilder. I freakin' loved Teambuilder man, sometimes all you wanna do is play Gnar top every game for 6 hours, and it let me do that. That, along with being able to just kick people you felt were toxic right at champ select felt amazing, I pretty much never had a bad game, even if I lost, just cause I almost never had to put up with crap like autofill, afks, and flaming. Did my wait times typically last like 15-20 minutes sometimes? Yes. But I was perfectly fine with that because I knew I'd at least get to play what I wanted with people I wanted to play with. I remember a time after they removed Teambuilder, all I wanted was to play at least 1 game as Kindred jungle when I got home from classes one night. First select, dodged, second select, Kindred banned, 3rd select autofill support, 4th select, opposing team took Kindred, 5th select, Kindred banned. I had to play hours of games not playing what I wanted to play because of the piece of shit champ select they decided to replace Teambuilder with. Could I have dodged those? Sure, but then the dodge penalties would have prevented me from playing at all and I didn't want to risk a ban or anything like that. But it's whatever, I got use to the new select after a while and just tried to always have at least 1 champ for each role that I enjoyed playing, so autofill didn't matter as much. I wasn't a master of much of anything, but at least I had something I could enjoy playing. HOWEVER, I do think they need to bring back the ability to just...nope someone out of your team if you want to at champ select, like you use to in Teambuilder. If you can already tell that someone on your team is a toxic pile of trash in champ select, I feel like you should be allowed to vote kick them. Why be forced to put up with it or take a penalty yourself for not wanting to deal with it? That's just my 2 cents. They do be doin' mah boi Asol dirty though, Rito pls fix.

I feel like Riot was trying to address the skill gap in different positions with ranked positions but the community backlash caused them to back down. Players that played different positions had a better grasp on all the different aspects of a game whereas now, if your nautilus support doesn't get their 1 trick they will pick lux and run it down 0/12 while you get your mid laner fed, and by the time you go to help bot the 9/0 kaisa w/ulti/q's you and you die, making it look like you're inting now that you can't enter your own jungle when it was really your supports lack of understanding of how to play anything but a singular champion that caused you to lose.

Thank you for your excellent opinions and vividly speaking, this video calling my so much common sense, i was started this game from season 1 too, i saw too much foolish changes in the old but joyful champions, the selfish addictions on the simple but clear maps, idiot game frames created one by one and instead the incomplete but efficient old concepts. This game, lol, is dead, indeed. Sometimes i still can't believe the old good time is gone, but we must face the truth -- too many new games and remake old games full in the market waiting choice by players, why we still wait lol to reborn that keep west our passion and let players down again and again, and seem like no time lol could be back like before that just brief to understand and take us funny As you said, the real reason why lol is dead, is that riot is not own by the loyalty players, but bought by the big company. For our common and good players, the big company don't give a fuck, those big company such as you said, they just want an undead zombie sucks the money form our common and good players without any improvement and innovation LoL, this game is dead, and never back again. So, we, the common and good players, made choice too -- never touch this hollow again. Too many new games to buy, too much good time we can share, why i have to eat shit? Let lol be history

You really hit it on the head with the mythic item analysis: "If the only way to make an item balanced is to make it's stats low, adcs just won't build them." Start of Season 10 Only playable ADCs are those that can get away with not building any of the ADC mythics, (Ez with divine, Jhin and MF with eclipse, Samira with being a new champ).

+15% CDR at level 18 was what made my game as a mid laner back then, since you had to go Athene+Morello to reach 40% CDR and with CDR/level glyphs you could free up an entire item slot for something else. Nowadays I don't have that option and while I do get ~40% CDR with a full build, there's no flexibility about it, whereas any AD assassin gets up to 60% CDR with a full build and still has like 10 more situational CDR items to chose from.

@Tyler B aside from calling me sped over and over again and claiming I live in my mother's basement and not knowing anything about game development, I was asking you for these points of yours for 3 times. Why was it so hard for you to type this? How can I agree or disagree with you if you don't point them out. Now that you did, at least I know what I can work with. But I suggest next time to number your points like this so it is easy to discuss. 1. What is false about saying it is HARD (Not impossible) to tweak Asol's kit without making him broken or unplayable or changing his theme? When he came out he was too strong. Then later on, when players learned how to use him, his winrate skyrocketed. And even now, despite all the hard hitting nerfs and the complaints of the playerbase, he is still sitting at 50.6% winrate which is the winrate Riot has been targeting for champions. They also publicized a set of guidelines they use to decide to buff or nerf a certain champion earlier this year and their adjustments to Asol pre-nerf fell into those categories to be nerfed and right now, does not fall into the categories to be buffed back. The problem is with the pickrate since he is difficult to use but when mastered could dominate the game. 2. Riot already said that they will conduct updates to the characters that see little pickrate or the need to be updated. Just that that future may not be within short term. Did I declare a date? 3. Don't twist my words. I said PLAYERS wanted a mobile version of it since smartphones became popular, years before vainglory was even a thing and before Riot being bought by Tencent. I did not say Tencent wanted it WHEN smartphones were invented. They did tell Riot later on to create one. But players wanted it before Tencent probably even thought about it. I knew this because the community and my schoolmates and friends brought it up many times. 4. Do you know what "PAY TO WIN" means? Devil may cry has microtransactions that can speed up their progress, but you can win and farm it for time. Same thing with any other game with micro transactions that give the option for players who have less time to play but more money. I did not pay a single cent for runes or runepages and I still won games against people who did. Might want to check the reddit post on January 30, 2016: "Why League of Legends is a Pay-to-win game, In depth explanation". And check the comments. If you don't want to waste time, just search "Is League of Legends Pay-to-win?" Or what is "Pay-to-win" for that matter since you seem to not know what it means. World of Warcraft is Pay-to-play AND Pay-to-win. Black Desert as well. Warframe, some gacha games, and some collectible games. If you still don't get it or are too lazy to search what "Pay-to-win" means, then here is a paraphrase: "Pay-to-win refers to games where players can buy in-game items to have a big advantage over non-spenders." Keywords "BIG ADVANTAGE". Do you know how much a single rune gave back in the day? A maximum of 4.8-91 scaling ability power for a complete set of runes or 35 if you go flat. Those weren't even much in a single game. And you can have a complete tier 3 rune page even before you would be eligible for a ranked game. They did away the skins because the game got old and new players couldn't catch up anymore so they decided to change it into the runeforge among other changes. Yes, it was unfair to the new players since they have to spend time to grind but it does not fall into "pay-to-win" territory as you and the other guy say since there is no paywall like games where you can only get these game breaking items IF AND ONLY IF you purchase them. What League was and kinda still is, is a grind-to-win game, both in in-game currency to unlock champions, and get better at the game. 5. What was wrong about me saying Faker doesn't buy skins? There are 1381 skins in lol right now and probably 1300 of those are purchaseable and he only bought the Frost Queen Janna skin, a champion he does not even use much. Those that were given to him by Riot and the ones he bought with the RP Riot gave him to spend on stream do not count. I did not say he never bought skins, I said he does not buy skins. This should easily be understandable. I don't know why or how this context flew over your head or maybe you thought he bought the skins he was given? 6. You probably didn't read his comments then, he was the one accusing me of not knowing the game which is also why I pointed out my experience in playing the game. And did I even attack him like what you LITERALLY have been doing to me for days? I just pointed out that what he said about the game seemed unlike the game I was playing. Did I call him names? Or degrade his character? Or cuss you out? Like what you did? Oh wait, are they missing? I can't find them anymore. I honestly did not report him since we were still in discussion but he didn't refute anymore. There must be a reason why his comments were deleted or deleted by himself. Or are you gonna argue about that as well? 7. I mentioned the 4 years working because it was an answer to another comment regarding why people left the game. I agreed the game got old and the genre got less interesting and my point was people grew up as well. And now, with my business going okay, I have been spending time playing league again as I used to. Not many people have that luxury and I can understand if League (The moba and their other games) die within the next 10 years. 8. I got into the argument because I wanted to and I enjoy debating with people, not because I was butthurt over wildrift which I don't even play anymore. Just like how I am here arguing with you because I enjoy it and I really appreciate your points in this comment (Despite it being 3 comments and 3 days late). What I don't enjoy is you calling me names and cursing at me, which I am sorry but I had to report you for that. It's clearly just a troll account anyway. You can make another.

As for adc hypercarries, they need freaking time and items in order to scale and actually carry, when all other roles can outdamage them with half an item and in a couple seconds. So if a pick shines after 35 minutes, but games last only 25 minutes this makes them oretty much irrelevant. And this has been proved in the past. Yasuo irelia and other picks used to rule the bottom lane.

Okay so the 'broken' nature of mythic items is greatly over stated. It has a great impact sure (all though not THAT great) but it is not like it is unheard off. You can see mystic items as a late game, build restricted, hard nerfed summoner spell. It gives a little more utility to champions who have been lacking behind in a game that is growing to be more dynamic and utility focused. At the same time the mythic items are too weak that it would out rank the utility provided by some abilities. I don't think league is suffering from power creep, I think it is suffering from utility creep. And I actually think that mythic items make a good step into fixing this.

Vor year

I used to love this game because of the freedom it gives when doing builds. Stopped around Season 5 since it just became FOTM meta bullshit. There's a reason why my favorite league youtubers back in the days quit very early. The game is just not fun to play anymore and is forcing you into a box. They decided to focus too much on the eSports aspect and make things too predictable. I did get into a phase where I played Ranked. 8:50 I recently rediscovered a way of dealing with autofill and actually with the ridiculous requirement of having to pick a secondary role: _Restart the queue every minute._ Sure, it ups the overall queue time by a lot, but I'd rather wait half an hour to get mid and win, than to spend 2 minutes in a queue and get top or worse, jungle or support and lose miserably wasting half an hour of my time being held hostage by "Never give up, never surrender" morons who wouldn't surrender even when enemies are having a BBQ at our Nexus.

For me, it was serious vitriol and the exhaustion of muting nearly every player I came across in the wild. For awhile, League was BAAAAAAAD with Toxicity. It still can be, but I remember around the season 7-8 period that the community just dripped with the worst people I could even think of. It made me quite. I genuinely didn't want to meet anyone else who played the game because every screw up was met with hate. I play the game from time to time now just to see what's changed, but I never stick around for long. Three or four normal games a season before dipping. No one wants to wait through four champion selects and get flamed and griefed.

Im new to the wildrift game and I think the reasons league isn't getting that much new players is because players who played lol for a long time are toxic towards the new players, in my experience they'll start chatting about how shit you are in the chat and they don't actually try to help you. I get that It's a competetive game and playing longer, discovering new things and being smarter makes you stronger but it feels like the players who are already familiar with the game aren't welcoming new players, though that's just in my experience. Wow this is too long. In conclusion most lol players aren't that welcome towards new players which could be the fall of the game because there are no new players to bring back that novelty. But I dunno, this is just my opinion, it could be wrong for others.

Idk about Wildrift tbh...I know in Ranked people don't help other players, and maybe even in "normals" because League is so competetive, if you're not going to be committed to regularly playing with that person they probably won't want to give "tips" to what they see as a lost cause. They will just hope to fight against players like the inexperienced ones and smash them vs. going out of their way to help them and possibly so much it effects the liklihood they will do as good. "Anything helps" when it comes to the broken ranking system of league. It's almost not even a team game even though you're on a team. There is so much more incentive and reward for solo/duo players to look out for themselves and even to troll vs. actually helping the team and working on objectives. lol

My biggest problem is the damn matchmaking! I recently got into the game thanks to another league youtuber, level 24ish, play like 2 games a day totally f2p. So it'll be a long while before i meet the conditions for ranked games. I queue into draft or blind pick, people yelling at each other over who called which role first and quitting champ select forcing me back to the queue. After 2-3 rounds of that, i get in, get through champ select, possibly with/without the champ i wanted to play, loading screen pops up, i check everyone's levels: Our team: 20ish, 20ish, 20ish, 5 or something and 60 Enemy team: 20ish, 20ish, 20ish, 300, 200 (And those 2 are duo-ing, so they also got coordination) (And those damn no-lifers are toxic af acting like they just found a cure for cancer while picking on noobs like us) As MUCH as i really wanna love the game and play it (I'm a huge MOBA fan), i'm honestly considering quitting.......This is the most garbage matchmaking i've seen ever. The sheer number of times me as a level 24 has to face off against champ mastery level 8-9 level 300 accounts is damn pissing........

Imagine calling old Taric & Poppy dead, I played both of these champions. I liked old Taric when you could go full ap & smash adcs, but then Riot nerfed him & made him only viable as a support which sucked. Then they reworked him into being only good as a support, yikes 😬 Also, old Poppy was awesome. I used to go full ap with her, but one time I went hybrid Poppy & destroyed enemy team's Vayne

Most of the problems with the matchmaking could be solved by banning every single smurf and alt account. 1 account per user that needs to be verified for you to be able to play ranked. That way if you troll there, there's no other account for you to go and play on. Also include a low-behavior queue for those players. Make trolls play with each other. Also this would make auto-fill games no longer required.

There's a reason why the majority of the complains are from NA players let it be youtubers or commenters. Also why would Riot regularly post the player base numbers? Why would they brag about it? They don't need to. Epic haven't done it since early 2019 for Fortnite, yet their game is growing. i've been playing league for 6 days now. i've heard lots about it, i understood the game, but never played it. it is by far the most toxic game i've ever played. i'm currently level 11, and there is nearly guaranteed at least 1 toxic person per game. just last game, i played cassiopeia, went 4/8, tryndamere went 1/5 and was flaming us the entire game, telling us to kill ourselves, that we have brain damage, that we are retarded animals. the funny thing is, i've only been playing blind pick so far, and these people get so upset and angry over blind pick? the worst yet funniest part is that they're smurfing. they are smurfing, upset in blind pick that new players aren't good at the game? i have encountered so many of these people already, it's astonishing. i've met 3 players already who have afk'ed at the slightest hint of an argument. they get angry, calling us retarded, a teammate retaliates and says he's dogshit, and all of a sudden they say "so you want me to afk?".

as someone that plays Moba, I see this problem as the change of times and the evolution of games. It happened with Chess with the introduction of Theory (database with all games ever played) where if you don't know theory then you wont ever make it to +2000 elo rating. The same thing happening with Dota 2 and LoL, people are learning a lot and getting better at the game, in Dota 2 if you a safelane support you need to know how to stack, pull, exp range and if you don't then you can end up losing the game with the bonus of being flamed by some russian guy. League should also give more focus on the game meta and changes for everyone, no need to be too afraid of big changes. Dota 2 every big patch there is completely new meta sometimes because of just a small change, the most recent change to status resist (makes stuns and things affect you less) and Satanic (used to be the most cost effective way of getting status resist) made several heroes fall the meta. Sometimes heroes are good, sometimes they are bad, but that is kinda fun because they stay fresh and removes the need to constantly introduce new characters.

6:10 Promos were always irrelevant. Ranks 2-5 if you opened up a promos with a loss, it was better to just dodge instead of wasting time trying to flip a coin to win 2 games in a row. That way you'd be back in the promo on your next win, get 1 free win below Plat/Diamond and only needed to win 1 more game drastically increasing your chances to actually advance. Also dodging NEVER counted as a full loss. The first dodge always costed only 3LP (yes, even in promos) and it didn't tax your MMR/ELO the same way as playing out a lost game.

I used to know this channel for Riven tips Now it has progressed so much which is good I am glad someone makes such a well structured video about issues/topics concerning league of legends Thank God someone with a louder voice mentioned the fear of the itemization rework... They are about to break the game All champs are balanced around items By reworking all the items they are reworking the whole balance of 100+ champs I am afraid next season won't even feel like league of legends anymore I actually loved how they kept innovating each season but I feel this time it's too much I like the idea that all champs are op and not all champs are under powered But this is about to make all champs have such a complete kit that it's scary One of the reasons why Lucian is unique compared to other adcs is because he can dash Now we're giving all adcs a dash ? IDK I am afraid they are going down the road of wow where all classes have a similar and full kit. A stun, a root etc they all are the same Yes it makes all classes equally good but there is no class identity I am unsure if I explained my point well and I doubt anyone will read this but anw that's my opinion on the whole situation

2:11 i really liked the old runes system, i always had 1% critchance in my runes as any ad champ or sometimes as JannaSupport and it was hilarious and fun to see, how i get a lucky crit against an enemy. The new system is benefitial for new players, but i don't think League will get a lot new players, but a lot new more smurfs, so why dont make the runes just cost 1 blue essence? and the Blue essence is the next thing i really dispise. Before the change,if you have played active, you could easily buy new champs every few games, now you only get them during a levelup and if you are unlucky, you get near none blue essence and i leveled a new account to 30 and had almost no champions i could buy. 11:42 Kassadin can still "silence" for a blink of a second. Everytime Anivia casts her ult and she get hits by Kassadins Q, the ult stops. They removed once the ability of Trundle Q to hit Towers, but as a Trundle main, i knew this wasn't true, I could cancel an autoattack with the Q against a minion and could hit the tower with the Q, this needed a bit of timing to do, but it was no problem for me. 13:00 I really don't like the new champions. They have a Passive, that has a Passive, this has TrueDamage every (put any number here) of attacks/speels and everytime a new champions come out you have to fucking study this champs for hours to understand, and if you just want to play and have fun, well f*ck you, you will not understand why you will die 10times in lane. In my opinion, the game is not made to make fun. I had really fun playing 3v3 ranked with 2 friends, because it was competetive, but also fun to play: But well, you guessed right, it was fun, so why not remove it so i have to play 3v3? Well, i have 2 more friends, playing Teamranked, well guess what... This isn't anymore... In Teamranked we had every rank, a bronze support a silver adc, a gold jungler and 2 plats in top and mid, but well flex is different from Teamranked and no fun at all. I enjoy simple Champions the most, i play Trundle, Olaf or Wukung because there are fun to play in my opinion and they have a lot of counterplay, but as soon as i play against a Yone, Samira, Senna or Sett, this Game is no fun at all 22:15 There should be a new system, if you get reported at least 4+ times, you will get softbanned for like something 30min. if you get reported any game soon again for 4+ times you get a bann for 8 hours and if this happened a third time you get a bann for 1+ week/s I had 3 times in a row the same toxic jungler in my game and 3 times he had at least 4+ reports since he was toxic to the enemy team aswell, but still, i got him 3 times in a row and if i dodge i get punished. Why not make a Witchhunt against this toxic Players, mark them and if they are in your team you can leave for free or put every toxic player in a game

I'm really sad about the current state of the game. I started in season two I guess and well, there were some really good changes like the champselect and that you get your chosen role mostly, as well with the bans. But the champs that were recently released just f** the game up. ALL of them are broken like you said and older champs didn't get a rework, instead they were released "again". Like Yorne is Yasou 2.0 and Seraphine is Sona 2.0. Instead of making older champs viable they just release op and broken ones with zero counter play against. I stopped playing ranked one year ago and I just played ARAMs for a very long time. It's just ridiculous and I really don't have any fun any more when I'm against a newer champion that was released 2+ years ago.

13:09 Here's a random thought from someone whom doesnt play LOL. The reason the new champions are powerful and the powercreep exists in the first place is because you have to pay for them (or so i've heard). Im a Dota2 player and on our side, if a hero is too strong, they nerf the shit out of it. There are constantly balancing patches that change the meta. But this is fine because all heroes are free and you are not taking away anything that the playerbase might have payed for. Its the business model that drives powercreep mechanics

Vor year

I think the main problem with the game, more than anything, is that the cohesion has vanished. It used to be if you were a top laner, you had a role to play. Your lane would play out a certain way, and then you would go into fights, be the big scary guy in the front or protecting the flanks, and making sure your team didn't get gibbed. The art of front lining. Same for jungle, mid, support, adc. Every role had a way they could predictably see the game playing out, and they would take that formula, and try to improve certain aspects of their play. Everyone had a purpose. Now front to back doesn't really exist anymore. Riot made it so that every role has carries, and because carrying your game is the best way to win soloq now, nobody wants to play anything but a carry. Nobody wants to fulfill a certain role in the team and help other people succeed. This puts everyone at a naturally antagonistic state on the same team. If your mid lane talon comes up top and ganks, but steals the kill, you're pissed that he's not letting you have the gold you need as, lets say irelia, to scale and carry the game. If you go up top to gank as talon and the irelia takes the kill you're pissed, because you just wasted your time (which you don't have much of as talon) getting some rando fed when you need that gold to snowball and become as effective as possible before you fall off. The game is LOADED with lose-lose scenarios like this now, and thats in the event that everything goes well. Everyone complains about ADC way more now than they used to in the past, even though objectively adc is nowhere near as strong as they were in the early seasons of the game. The reason for that is it used to be that, since you played front to back, you were focused on getting your ADC ahead, then when your ADC was ahead they would stomp the game for you. You had a real purpose, and that purpose was to nourish the ADC and then defend it so the ADC could win you the game. Now when people see an ADC taking kills and getting ahead to stomp they're thinking "this idiot is gonna fuck it up, I need these kills instead so I can carry, because I can only depend on myself." The real sad thing is that this type of behavior is encouraged. This is how you win games of league of legends now. Its not by having a purpose and doing your best to fulfill that purpose within the structure of your role, its by picking whatever champion has the most 1v9 potential, going into whatever lane has the best chance of letting you get ahead, and saying fuck you to the other 9 players and trying to dominate 9 other players who are all playing the same way. No wonder the game has gotten so much more toxic.

I actually have no issues with the so-called 'Kill Steal' since you are on the same team. It won't matter who will as long as both of you are safe. the goal is to 'win' not to get ALL the kills. It's annoying when you are playing with a team who thinks they could do all the work alone and blame others for not pulling the weight. It's exhausting.

Season 1-4 was peak League, its gone off a cliff since then, new champions have to have extremely overloaded kits and be released in a completely overpowered state in order to be meta upon release and get all those sweet sales, Riot has been balancing the game around the pro scene and not the regular playerbase since like season 3, no matter how many bs videos or posts Riot makes to try and say otherwise, thats just a fact and everyone knows it. I feel like that the item changes seem politically correct applied to lol: Galeforce, Stridebreaker, Everfrost and Moonstone, like ADCs and juggernauts with dashes, Kassafin and Sylas with snares or every enchanter is like Soraka. It seems like everyone can do everything that everyone else so, killing the uniqueness (and remember also the fact that Kraken Slayer makes everyone like Vayne). Worst part is that those items completely destroys the lack of weaknesses of some champions, like immobility for example. That's what I don't like in all of this.

You could mute everything on parameters but yeah. Doesn't fix the problem of toxicity that Riot seems to enjoy a bit too much and extreme cases are bannable (sometimes). They simply do not care about toxicity. The only people that have the most potential issues are afks. The recent system even gave me 2/3 times an afk report for nothing.
