Even if Enamorus wins a Regional, International or even the World Championship, GameFreak is going to response by simply making another member of the Genies turning the Forces of Nature a Quintet. But also, lore wise it makes sense since the Genies are based on the Four Auspicious Beasts in Chinese mythology and there's actually a fifth member that's essentially the leader of the group as it's a combination of all them beasts combined being a Yellow Dragon which represents Earth.

A Pokemon that's the leader of a once trio? Lore wise definitely stronger than the others? Sounds like it's gonna get Slow Start as its ability.

One could argue Kyurem was already a Yellow Dragon (with a yellow gem on its forehead, similar to the gems on Therian forms' bellies) but I guess it didn't really have any connection to Forces of Nature in the lore at all

Legends Kyurem is gonna be an interesting release that's for sure

When you look deep into the mythological creatures that this group are inspired upon, yes, it's pretty obvious that we were missing the fourth member all along. Unlike the golems, _this_ trio was blatantly never complete with just three.

What I hate most about Enamorous isn’t looks or stats, but the fact that it gets Superpower Contrary combo at 115 base attack and 106 base speed while Lurantis LOST SUPERPOWER this generation at 105 base attack and 45 base speed. Lurantis’s defense is only 10 points off of Enamorous and really loved trick room so it can spam Superpower to get those sweet sweet attack and defense boosts with contrary. Now Lurantis uses Leaf Storm with 80 base special attack they really nuked Lurantis this gen only to add a better Pokémon who did everything Lurantis could and more

A cool fact about why they decided to add Enamorous is the inspiration of the Therian designs. They're taken from the chinese/japanese 4 guardian beast. The three first genies are inspired by the tiger, bird and dragon, while Enamorous is inspired by the turtle with a snake for a tail. So from that perspective it made sense to add the 4th member.

I love how the Hisui guy who gave every mon a move with 3 different effects forgot that you shouldn't give fairy types ground coverage, and genies other genies' moves. So it stole Landorus's coverage and Tornadus's tailwind. Fun fact: The only earthquake user were Granbul and Mega-Alteria The only earth power users were Carbink and Diancie.

Also Earth power hits electric and rock for super effective (and mystical fire hits ice, but it doesn't even need it for Chien Pao because fairy is already SE), so yeah, it basically has its every single weakness covered

The reason enamerous was added to fill the 4 Chinese guardians that their Therian form make up, with Enamerous being the black turtle of the north. And I think they fill out all the season now too but not sure.

The form change is also noteworthy for being visually different. The other Genies have the same face and Lando/Thundurus are also very similar in body structure, with Thundurus being a bit more different with those big wings. But Enamorus just has a completely different face, becomes a quadruped and generally keeps nothing except for its colourscheme.

Enamorus has been speculated ever since the trio appeared since they impose a form of four guardians but fairy flying is a very surprising type nonetheless.

It's crazy how contrary can work when done by its teammate while defiant only works with opponents reducing your stats

It does come with the stipulation that you can't benefit from using regular boosting moves on pokemon with contrary. Defiant doesn't have that downside, so I imagine they felt that balanced it. Did it? Not sure. But there's logic behind it.

I think it makes sense actually. With Contrary, you can't set up regularly, you have to use an attacking move. Which doesn't sound bad, but mons with Contrary only have 1-2 moves to do so. Then imagine if Defiant was for every stat drop, then imagine a Zapdos-G CC you and get +4 attack

The mixed attacking Contrary set sounds like it can be very powerful. If people are specing into Terra Steel to handle Fluttermane, that plays into Superpower Spam. It narrows down the defensive Terra Typing to Poison, which is much more vulnerable than Steel is.

Being a counter to Amoonguss and Ursaluna is actually a big deal and could produce some profound results on the right team.

The only thing weird about Enamorus is its design, and I believe that weird is an understatement…

I feel like the way it should work with the storm moves is that Wildbolt storm always hits in rain, Bleakwind storm always hits in snow, sandshear storm always hits in sand and springtime storm always hits in sun.

Enamorus-I + Thundurus for self boosting has been my favorite strategy of reg D. Also shout out to physical Enamorus-I. Paired with murkrow, you can use priority Feather Dance to give Enam +2 attack, then stack Super Powers. With Contrary and Tera Fire, you cannot be burned or intimidated. Also Contrary doesnt inverse Tailwind, so you can still use murkrow for that, too.

I’m glad to see Enamorus get some love in the competitive! When she was first released she got so much hate and I don’t think she deserved it! I think she’s really cool and I was just so happy to finally get that 4th member :D

This feels like an idea that’d be more fit for the second channel in concept, but the great editing properly conveys the information much better than just rambling like some other poketubers do.

When Enamorus was first released, I was very excited to use its TF in my trick room team, turns out it's pretty hard to use.

I genuinely want to see it have a niche. It’s currently fighting an uphill battle cause of flutter mane. But with it’s different forms it could possibly sneak it’s way in.

I wonder how far the person who plays both enamourous and fluttermane on the same team will get? Increases your fairy resistance and makes it harder to just remove one of them. Even could pick neither on the team select to throw off opponents for a round.

I ran a TR Enamorus-T this season, and it worked really well! It was a bulky Life Orb set, with Sludge Bomb over Mystical Fire to hit Tera Grass Heatran, Tera Fairy Flutter Mane, and it does more damage to Rillaboom

I really like Enamorus, not only for her design and her inspirations (Xuan Wu and Inari) But also because she is pretty strong

I do wanna say, I see a lot more special attacking landorus incarnate and not many physical but changing to therian it totally becomes a physical attacker. So saying that those 3 don't change that much compared to Enamorus isn't fair, because chaging from mostly special attacker to totally physical attacker is quite the change (let alone getting VGC's best ability: Intimidate)

Anyone curious why Enamorus was added, its because the Therian forms are based on Baihu (Landorus), Zhuque (Tornadus), and Qinglong (Thundurus). But Baihu, Zhuque and Qinglong are part of a quartet, rounded off by Xuanwu, a turtle with a serpent coming from its shell. Thats why Enamorus exists.

It looks like it gonna be a Gliscor/Landours-T situation, where they fit on different team styles, so they don’t outclass each other

I could see Enamorus pairing well with Spicy Extract. Boost the Def and lower Atk assists in survivability and a small counter play to Foul Play if Tera type doesn’t resist Dark.

I kind of like the idea of T. Form Enamorus cause I prefer slower games, but I'm still new to comp pokemon so I don't really know how effective slowing the pace of the game down is in the current format.

I use an Enamorus Therian on a sandstorm team of mine on showdown. I think its great and I like its design aswell. Amazing coverage, no sleep from amongus, amazing typing, and no chip from the sand

After seeing it in a romhack - totally agree that buffing infatuation to affect any pokemon would be a a nice change for this day and age

They did great on the design of it, so much so that it really fits in with a legendary trio that they made over a decade ago. I feel the same about Regidrago, and Regieleki, but their design is a bit of step up from the original trio, but they still work very well, and I hope that we get more Regis in the future.

Gonna be super vunerable here. Honestly a year ago I was at the worst point of my life I've ever been at. Just lost a bunch of family and friends among many other personal issues and diagnosis. I was at the end of my rope, but I wanted to live still. I kept trying things hoping to find something to keep me going and ya know what? Without Wolfe and a few other youtubers I wouldn't ever have thought that Pokemon and its community would be the thing that kept me going. I agree with everything except assault vest. I've been testing Enamorus with protect instead of tera blast. However, I do run a physical one with the same moves as you showed except tera blast and while it is strong, I think I can do better with assault vest and a mix attacker.

I think it would be great as a counter measure to intimidate on physical based teams, but I haven't played competitive in... a while so I don't know if that's as big of a deal as it used to be, or if it has what it needs to to pull this off.

A video talking about common strategies would be nice before the championship.

Contrary just doesn’t really helps it with its current movepool and they even had the audacity to not boost springtide storm’s accuracy in rain (or it even could’ve been in the sun, maybe ?!). Except paradox pokemon and genderless pokemon ruin the attract tactic, so a full team of those can ruin the strat. :/

Bulky Enamorous could be paired with some pokemon that can be a deadly combination.. with Grimmsnarl, Indeedee, and Murkrow as some examples. Enamorous with Chi-Yu can spell some sweeps considering Sp.Def being lowered from Chi-Yu's presence can spell increased damage from spamming such special attacking moves. The meta currently is gonna be really some topsy turvy with fast tanks being able to take home the gold medal.

This thing is also a menace in smogon singles, contrary is less useful there, since weak stat dropping moves aren't good, but its speed and special attack mean few mons can reliably switch in on it.

I was so happy when i figured out the enamorus thunderus combo on my team and then learned that other people also used it I once used it to end a game in two turns, and not even by my opponent forfeitting i just KO'd everything I think it has alot if potential

It feels like a missed opportunity to have all of the genies’ signature moves associated with different weather conditions. In each respective condition, they become 100% accurate: Wildbolt Storm = Rain Bleakwind Storm = Hail/Snow Sandsear Storm = Sand Springtide Storm = Sun And this works well because Enamorus is a new Pokemon that synergizes well with sun like a lot of the new paradox Pokemon. Only having Rain affect all of the moves but one just feels out of place.

BORINGGGGGG Wild bolt = sun Bleakwind = snow Sandsear = rain Springtide = sand Sand teams don’t need more ground types

There's a very strange team i've been using in Showdown with varied success in low-mid ladder. Enamorus + Thundurus for the setup you've mentioned with Eerie impulse + Scary face. Enamorus has Springtide Storm, Tera blast (steel), Earth power and Sludge bomb. Klefki with sandstorm, both screens, mental herb and another move of choice. Brute Bonnet with spore, pollen puff, rage powder and sucker punch Max HP and the rest on defense and attack. Another attacking pokemon of your choice, i use Rapid strike urshifu. And the weirdest of them all, Perrseker, defensively trained, with Amnesia, Iron defense, Baton pass and an attacking move. Yes, showdown lets me use baton pass on VGC regulation D. You lead with either Perrseker and Klefki or Perrseker and Brute bonnet. Klefki is there ONLY for weather strats, with prankster sandstorm being there to disturb it, as weather strats usually demolish the team otherwise. Brute bonnet otherwhise because you need to make it faint by end of turn 2. Based on the lead of the opposing team, Perrseker shall use either iron defense or amnesia. This is highly prediction based, of course. Perrseker holds a focus sash, just in case. Brute bonnet shall use either sucker punch or Rage powder, depending on the situation. Spore is also advisable. Then Perrseker baton passes the boost to Enamorus, and Brute bonnet uses rage powder to hopefully faint. Then you switch to Thundurus and set up while Enamorus fires off Springtide storms or Dazzling gleams if you want the accuracy. If brute does not faint, then it takes the role of a sporer, rage powderer and healer (pollen puff) until he does. Sucker punch can also be used to KO ghost types or low health pokemon. If you manage to set up, 9/10 times you win. If you don't, then you're basically playing with a below-average team and can only really win if luck and skill is on your side. If the other team has even a slight chance of being a trick room team, then you change the strategy entirely. Brute bonnet is going to be crucial, and you bring the other attacking pokemon, Enamorus and Thundurus. Try to stall out trick room to then attempt to set up with Enamorus, as you don't even need scary face this time. Don't be afraid to terastalize bonnet into a water or fire type.

i think either of them has great potential on the right team, modest incarnate with tailwind will outspeed and threaten a lot with its great coverage, contrary with superpower and partner support gives it easy access to stat boosts on mixed sets, and i think the opposite is true about the flutter mane comparison it has similar strengths but also has powerful ways to beat many flutter mane counters. and the therian form in trick room will be pretty scary with moonblast and earth power. presumably wolfe isnt using them since he made a video which sucks

I personally really like using enamorus with sneasler. I use bulky enamorus incarnate with contarery, leftovers, tera steel, superpower (2 go head to head with iron hands), moonblast, springtide storm and tailwind to support my sneasler that runs the normal set of focus sash with cc, fake out, prot and Dire claw. I've got a 50 winstreak with this duo and a supportive line-up of, rillaboom, heatran, gyarados and spectrier

80% acc missing 2x as often, is your rockslide hitting at 160% that's impressive.

The biggest problem I see with trick room Enamorus is getting the right IV for it, even though the range is 0-7, it's impossible to tell the 0-20 IVs in PLA and Enamorus is at the end game, so it is a very long grind to reset for one.

But competitive players often cheat, I mean look at Ray Rizzo with his Dream Ball Aegislash

Wait, I feel like fighting tera super power contrary with choice band sounds like a nightmare to stop. It's setup and kill threat at the same time leaving your other pokemon free to do whatever. Pair it with booster energy fluttermane or fake tears+scary face grimmsnarl with cresselia in the back.

Tbh I actually was trying to use fully physical Enamorus Incarnate with fly as a Trick Room stall tool as well as STAB, Tera Fighting and Assault Vest, it has been pretty good, especially with Tornadus's Tailwind and Scary face, Multiplying by 4 her speed and even outspeeding Tailwind, max speed and Booster Energy Flutter Mane, killing it with Iron head. The only things that It can't hit for neutral damage are Toxtricity or Gholdengo, which can be solved using my own Gholdengo. The set is this one, I personally call it "Punch-amorus": Punch-amorus (Enamorus) @ Assault Vest Ability: Contrary Level: 50 Tera Type: Fighting EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 132 Def / 4 SpD / 116 Spe Jolly Nature - Fly - Superpower - Play Rough - Iron Head

Hey Wolfey, I think whilst talking about the stat comparison between Landorus-I and Enamorus-I the Special Attack Stat and Defense Stat of both of them were switched around. It was around 6:58. I don't mean to be rude while pointing this out, it's just something I noticed. But anyways, Amazing video from our Real Youtubist Wolfey.

At 6:58 it seems that the editor put the Defense stat of Landorus/Enamorous instead of their SpAtk stats. It looks like they are fairly weak 😅

0:06 Technically there have been more expansions to groups of legendary Pokémon, but not as an equal member of the group. Regigigas was added in gen 4 as a master for the three Regis, and you could kind of make the same judgement for Lugia being an addition to the Birds. Additionally there have been a few mythical members to groups that have been revealed at a later date, and possibly also designed later. The most obvious is Keldeo, but we also have Arceus as a master of the Creation Trio, and Darkrai as the counterpart to Cresselia.

Is lugia Really considered To be One of The legendary Birds? Like, regigigas Has obvious Connections to The other Regis, lugia, and Aside from The flying Type, doesn't Have any Connections that I'm aware Of to The bird Trio.
