omg when they were talking about getting recognized in Japan I felt so bad because I ran into Joey and Aki in harajuku recently and I did exactly what they said don't do which is straight up ask for a photo right away. I thought it was too weird to randomly strike up a conversation since it looked like they were heading somewhere and honestly it was more because I was so nervous I couldn't say anything coherently. I wanted to just tell them thank you for always creating such amazing content but my mind went blank and I felt like I was holding them up. Even before going to Japan I watched Joey's interview with Roland san and a podcast episode instead of packing and almost missed my flight. So I want to convey to them that they are such meaningful people in my life but all I could do was ask for a photo and say I really like your videos. I feel so bad I was that type of person. I know they won't ever see this but I just want to apologize, I wish I could be better at speaking but it was so nerve-wracking all I could do was blabber like a werido. So please don't feel like you are just an object if we ask for a photo first because that's the only thing I can do without messing up. I promise you guys mean the world to many of us and sometimes we are just really bad at interacting with other humans like me. It's just such a surreal honor to see you guys in person so thank you and sorry for dealing with people like me who make terrible first impressions T_T

Recently I did get some "Fish and chips" locally. The restaurant took the name literally - they delivered me grilled fish (no breading) with a side of american chips (brittish crisps). Amazing how you can be both right and horribly wrong at the same time.

I think Taken for Garnt-ed should be Garnt taking Chris to fancy places and experiences (like expensive wine tastings, expensive resorts, etc…) and Garnt loving the experience while Chris complains about whatever Chris would complain about. Probably the cost of everything.

If I had a nickel for every time Chris expressed admiration for a questionable Disney character, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Shit, Hearing the engagement stories was fun. I too wanted to recreate our first date, but instead we evacuated Kyiv because of the war and so as it happened I just proposed on our anniversary in her mother's back yard, lol. Oh, and a week before our marriage russians shot missiles near the place where we were supposed to sign paperwork and we had to reschedule. Overall, can recommend marriage, can't recommend living near terrorist state.

The reason I haven't visited Japan, is literally because I don't want to travel during Summer, but you are forgetting one important thing. It is very, very hard to get off work for more than maybe a week or if lucky 2, in any month if it is not July/August. So that is probably why this is the trend, if it was easier to get 3 weeks off or more during early spring or October or something, I'd be there in a heartbeat...

That and I have two kids, and I really want to go for 3 months because I lived in Okinawa and we never went anywhere else, so I want to go see the whole country with them. So with the school schedule, summer's the only time we could go

When I moved to the mainland US from Hawaii, I was about 10 years old and it was the first time I heard Japanese words and names being pronounced *like that*. My teacher was excitedly telling me about her adventures in "kiyodo" after I told her my mom had just moved back to the US from Japan, and it took me a few minutes to figure out where "kiyodo" was. It was worse than hearing my non-Japanese cousin tell me she liked "Top Raymen". Chilly-ness aside, British pronunciation of tapas ("tap-ass") never fails to make me giggle. 😹

I don't exactly do what ya'll do, but I 100% understand where Chris is coming from about the pressure on doing shorts. It's like any time there's a new trend or way of doing things on a platform that everyone else likes and you're a creator on that platform, you're expected to adapt and keep up with everything and it gets exhausting. Nothing can ever just stay how it is anymore.

Chris is more so of like one of the boys, than being a guest...the energy and rapport is always there. Nice and fun episode. :)
