If your goal is to decrease body fat and or body weight, not all strength workouts are equal. In order to truly increase your basal metabolic rate and create an effective positive hormone response, it’s critical that you use complex, “compound” movements during your strength workouts. These moves require you to use many muscles during the set causing profound changes throughout your body. This is the exact reason why Holly Perkins from Women’s Strength Nation relies on Deadlifts to create her tight midsection. Check out this video where Holly shows you exactly how to perform 7 moves for strength and weight loss.

When you unrack the barbell, shouldn't you be already in possition and braced rather than trting to get comfortable with weight? Or does it not matter because the weight is small? Thx

Domzalm1 - correct, lift small weights like big weights, this ensures consistency of motor pattern recruitment across all reps therefore optimum skill development - aka lift all weights with the same technique if you want to develop and refine that technique.

Looks like I can actually use this one, it's the first weights for women video I've seen that doesn't have a million comments underneath complaining about form!

Hi there! I would recommend 10 to 12 reps and 2 to 3 sets to get started.

So glad you posted this. Really needed for form cues and visuals. I recently committed to doing compound movements 5-6 days a week and so far it’s going good, but I still needed pointers to get the best out of the movements and your video filled that void that no other female has. Thanks.

Winner of a video, been searching for "women's lifting workout" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Seyliana Strength Salgado - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my brother in law got amazing results with it.
