Did you know that back in 2009 that Butch Hartman wrote a 3 Hour Long Fairly OddParents Movie called The Wishology Trilogy, attempting to be the most action-packed and epic movie in the entire series? Was it any good? Time to find out!

Yep and after this Butch and writers were running out of ideas. They mostly couldn't come up with something fresh and new. They were barely trying to be creative and ambitious with the stories and instead relied too much trying to force in Crocker, Foop and Timmy's Dad into the spotlight as well as ignoring most of continuity and consistencies.
Vor yearuchiha bomber +3
I agree this was their final peak in my opinion
Vor yearelectrobob992 +2
Agreed, honestly they could have just changed focus off of Timmy at that point, focus on his kids. Redeem old series villains, maybe turn remy into the new Crocker due to his growing hatred over timmy leading to the standard memory wipe to not fully work. The show was never titled "Timmy's Fairy Odd Parents" after all.

I know not everyone agrees, but I always saw this as the true finale to Fairy Odd Parents primarily because unlike other specials, like Channel Chasers, this one utilized a lot of the characters within the franchise. Iāll admit, Iām a sucker for that sort of story when everyone youāve met along the journey meet up in the grand finale.
Vor yearRobert Treacy +60
Youāre not alone. I also think this shouldāve been the finale of FOP.
Vor yearAlanTGP1 +47
Definitely, as Alpha Jay once said "Wishology as a finale makes more sense because it's going into the Fairly OddParents universe." and "Wishology while having references is not a movie made of them."
Vor yearAeroStrafe +13
@AlanTGP1 I can't really agree with that take. A series finale should wrap up the main character's story in a satisfying way leaving no real questions about their future. This just sends a love letter by diving into the universe but not in a way that really wraps anything up. Its fan love letter movie but not a series finale movie.
Vor yearGameRHero95 +17
I thought this is the true grand finale as well. They haven't made any new specials that topped this.

I think Wishology is the only positive recognition post Poof Fairly OddParents has ever and will ever get and I definitely see why (for the most part, Meet the OddParents was a banger and nobody talks about it). Even with it's flaws, it still felt like the last time FOP had big, action packed stakes, used it's secondary cast and was actually any level of good. This was my first Fairly Odd special and while I will admit I say this with my rose tinted glasses set to maximum nostalgia I can't not love it just as much as the rest.

Vor yearS-Link +22
Wishology was truly a amazing event to watch from beginning to end. Personally my favorite part was part 2, because of how much stronger the eliminators seemed to get and how Timmy in the end choose to sacrifice himself for his friends and family. In the end a great event overall.
Vor yearāļøā”ļøRaph +29
Oh YES, I LOVED the Wishology trilogy back when I was a kid! It was the first time I ever saw a BEEG special event for any animated show and the scene where the eliminators go out of their way to obtain the drip will never be not funny to me. It may not be as good as Day of Zozin's Comet, but for what it was, I loved it.

Vor yearseth Stop calling me Ryan dickhead +1
Norm should have made a OJ Simpson joke in this show
Vor 10 MonateELR +15
I think this movie should've used Tootie instead of Trixie. The entire series had been building up to Timmy finally seeing Tootie for who she is, and a heroic adventure together would've been great for that. Plus, Tootie being one of those kidnapped actually gives Vicky a good reason to join the team (wanting some money really made not much sense) and makes their relationship as sisters a little more human. And the sacrifice scene would've been far, FAR more impactful! Trixie isn't that bad, but she's really just a carrot on the stick for the series. Her reason for liking Timmy, "you can grant me wishes and stuff", is really flimsy and doesn't feel like the beginning of anything that could be called a good relationship. Season 6 really just assassinated Tootie's character and then thrust Trixie/Timmy together was SvTFOE levels of bad writing.

Vor yearTheUltimateFrozenFan +11
Unpopular opinion: I think this is the best Fairly Oddparents Movie event ever! Maybe I'm a bit biased since FOP is my favorite Nicktoon, and Butch Hartman is my personal Animation hero, but this event was so big and epic! it was unlike anything Nickelodeon or FOP had ever done before! It also broke boundaries for things like Timmy teaming up with his enemies, his friends and parents meeting his Godparents, and kissing Trixie! (even though it should've been tootie) I'm honestly sad this was never released on DVD like all the other FOP movies, and I think they should've made this a theatrical movie to be released in theaters, instead of 3 45 minute movies. It would have made this massive event even bigger! But regardless this still to this day remains my favorite FOP TV event!
Vor yearkatziliaf +10
I still remember how disappointed I was with "Darkness" becoming "Kindness". Even as a kid, it felt to me like the most cheapest ending. Ironically, the entire hyping up of the movies truly worked on me and I was on the edge of my seat to see the background/destruction of the Darkness. All the pain, suffering...and then its just supposed to be misunderstood?? Plus, the Trixie kiss felt weird. The entire show before it had made it clear that she wouldn't end with Timmy. Even to the point to say; "guys. She is batshit insane. You'll do yourself a favour to stay away!". And I should be hyped about a kiss? C'mon!

I have... very specific memories with this special. It was always one of the coolest to me when I was younger too! But it was also one of the most frustrating... Because I would get to watch the first two parts, right (I think usually seeing the second one)? And being young, that cliffhanger had me HOOKED! But I was always SNUBBED because I NEVER got to see the Third part!! FOR YEARS!! EVERY TIME THE SPECIALS CAME ON I WOULD MISS IT! It frustrated the hell out of me as a kid, to the point where I think I low key hated the special. XD It's always interesting to look back on things we enjoyed as a kid with a more critical eye, although being aware that we are not necessarily the target audience. Like, as a kid I don't think I ever really noticed the similarities between the first two parts. And I also agree, character development would have been a good addition that would have helped so much.

I used to think Brendan voiced both Turbo AND Flappy Bob cuz of not just the similar backstories but their vocal inflections. That said I think The Darkness explanation was solely being exposed to nothing but pain and suffering and wanting Timmy because he was loved by so many unconditionally...tho it def was not well executed. I did appreciate giving Timmy more of a mature solution like with the first Poof episode, showed he had a chance to show the audience he was growing til the day he lost his fairies...well, if they ever got that far...which they didn't.

What I loved about the Fairly Odd Parents was that because unlimited magic wishes given to a 10 year old boy who had major flaws is literally endless potential of storytelling, whether Timmy us using the magic to save the world, or his recklessness and imagination often lead to his wishes getting out of hand making him the cause of the episodeās threat, yet he always sees his errors and tries to fix them. Endless possibilities of fun, you never know what will happen each episode on first viewing.

Pretty much all of us agree that Wishology shouldāve been the series finale.

I think the crew felt that since all the other specials got split into episodes after their premieres by Nickelodeon, they probably decided to split them themselves and that's why they feel so disconnected from each other.

I actually remember this. I think it came out right on the cusp of me not watching Nick as much anymore, but I do distinctly remember watching through the entire "Wishology Weekend". That counter that pops up at the bottom of the screen is pretty nostalgic. In general I remember liking it, but yeah the ending of the final part is a massive cop out. Teenage me could pretty much tell there was no backing behind it at all.

The Wishology trilogy is honestly my second favourite FOP special. The first would go to channel chasers. I remember watching the trilogy back in 2009 when the episodes were airing and I loved it as a kid. Heck, even re watching it now, I still like it. Not as much as I did as a kid but it was still pretty good. I have had many great memories with this special

I'll take it over the later stuff.

Maybe I'm giving the show way too much credit, but I can see the first part ending in such a neat, and complete way as a reference to how much first movies in a trilogy really stand on their own. Star Wars, Back to the Future, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. all were basically planned as one movie and then the sequels were kind of planned out together, which is why the second movie usually ends on some kind of cliffhanger.

Hot take: Schools Out The Musical was the best special. Maybe not in terms of story but DEFINITELY in terms of music

This was originally going to be the finale but Nick ordered another season so they changed the script, it even had everyone keeping their memories at the end in the original script

When I recently watched this show in order, this was the last episode I watched before stopping. I think it could've been a great finale apart from the status quo reset at the very end.

Channel Chasers was my all-time favorite cartoon show special when I was growing up, the feeling of being at my grandma's during the summer and watching Nickelodeon is something I miss so much.

I remember seeing the first part of this series and didin't even realize the other 2 parts were part of the triliagy. I thought they were completley serperate movies lol! Anyways, i can't say I enjoyed this as much as the other specials because this was around the time I started checking out of watching fairly odd parents cause I didn't like the direction it was going. But, I did watch the first part and I do remember enjoying it!
