No need to over-criticise this Sri Lankan team. They played well throughout the tournament. As an Indian, we should not celebrate until we bring the World Cup home. Exceptional bowling by Bumrah & Siraj… but everyday will not be like this. Regardless, India played well and have shown promise in all 3 departments- batting, bowling and fielding. Wish they didn’t play Australia, rested and participated in performance camp like they did in Bangalore. Let’s bring the cup home boys!

Commiserations to Chris Silverwood and the Sri Lankan team. While there is much that needs to be learned from this match, it is also worth remembering the good games. Silverwood has done great things with this SL team and deserves the chance to achieve the improvement that needs to be had.

My respect for sri lankan fans grew a lot after this match as they stayed till the end of the match even after knowing that they have lost the match in the first 5 overs

I love our boys and what they have done this year to date has been nothing short of great! One bad game shouldn’t dictate the direction we’ve been on, batting defs needs a harder look as it has been the weak point to date whereas the bowling has pulled through and won 90% of the games for us. If we can have an average batting form and consistency then this team can be very dangerous come World Cup. We need Karunarathe back at the top but I’d like to see maybe Samarawickrama to start batting with him at the top as he’s been in form. It’ll be good to have a couple more lefties in the top 5-6 to balance and rotate the strike. Chris Silverhood is a good coach he handled the young SL team very well. I really didn't expect the final to over so quickly. But SL played very well in Asia Cup until the final. I believe its all about consistency. It applies to any kind of sport When it comes to team sport each member of the team should know what their roll is within the match When everything goes well well and good but when specially things go bad someone maybe a few players must take up more responsibility to salvage the match .I did not see this happening. You need to be mentally tough Hope we can correct this going in to the World Cup.

Srilanka should now raise there game level into very high standards. Everything should be worked out like batting, bowling & fielding standards & how to play under pressure in a big final games. Consistency is the key factor, and it will improve game standards & will also impact on other players automatically.

Coach doesn't come to the feild and play.. Players had to get themselves in.. Adjust to conditions and then take on.. Irrespective of today's performance.. Sl played well in previous matches.. Their spin bowling is good.. Despite hasranga missing and few other experienced batsmen not in the side.. They have managed to come to the finals.. They have Promissing players who can b invested upon and wud give returns on a long run.. Sl Batsmen would learn from this experience.. There are a lot of names that have come in picture and spoken about which itself Is a plus for Sl young side.. Vellalage, pathirana, theekshna, asalanka in particular.. Siraj was exceptional, equally backed by bumrah and hardik.. India batting against spin bowling is still vulnerable.. Dravid needs to work with his batsmen.. On how to counter spin, getting to the pitch of the ball n playing, rotating strike and coming down the track to attack, rather defend.. Apart from the rest india has ticked majority of its boxes.. Aus series is important to players like surya, shreyas( subject to fitness) to get back to form.. Sundar, shardul and jadeja too need to perform well and opportunity has to b provided to them..

You can tell Chris is such a passionate coach, the man deserves better.

This coach os our best coach. Our team is just not at India's level. We have to accept that and really understand what made us lose this way and work on our shot selections for these types of difficult deliveries. Players loke suraj and bumrah keep bowling the same line and lengths and our batman even with that knowledge got out the same ways. We have to find a way to counter the new ball outside edge wicket. It's not a gppd sign getting out the same way again and again for the same deliveries. Also is this our best 11. Are we not giving chance to people who are probably better than this 11 but no one knows about

Its just one match where SL collapsed, it happened with Ind too when in Vizag Ind got bowled out to 117 vs Aus. So, We shouldn't read too much into one collapse of SL. They will be fine in WC 2023 and beyond .

Please don't. He might be out of form but he is a good captain 😊. We Indians have seen him at the start of this year and are very impressed. Just remember Dhoni was out of form in the entire 2011 world cup and yet won the cup.

I am not sure when exactly he started losing his form but i can see why he is captain of the team as well as all rounder for Srilanka. Not sure how Srilanka will perform in WC but stick to him as captain for 3 to 4 years. Then you will see results. Right now the Srilanka team is young and picking up their role.
