Lame rip off of Star Wars animated.
More garbage content from Paramount and CBS. The golden age of Star Trek ended in 2005 and is never coming back. You can slap the Star Trek label on it and call it Star Trek, but that doesn't make it Star Trek.
I predict that the ship in prodigy is the captains yacht from voyager that is never used. It was somehow left behind in the delta quadrant where these kids find it.
This better not be a flop. I'm honestly hoping for something like how the Clone Wars cartoon was not only aimed at kids, but was also a very well done expansion to the main Star Wars movies.
Well, it looks better than Picard, Discovery and Lower Decks. Then again, a good root canal is better than Picard, Discovery and Lower Decks. Modern Trek is a a pathetic mesh of mediocre writing and show runners who loathe classic sci-fi. The bar is low, new show, don't let us down.
I really hope this show caters to all ages, not just kids. Like the SW Clone Wars, or ATLA, and such. Keep the intricacies without falling too far into the "drama for the sake of dramas" mire that the "adult" shows keep sinking into.
I'll need a moment alone on the holodeck please.
Remember when Star Trek was good? Good times.
I grew up with Star Trek. From watching the original run of TOS to Picard and Disco and LD. The Mrs and I cosplayed conventions for years, me as a Doctor and she as the ship's captain. (We stuck as close to real life as we could) We took our daughters to cons and soon they cosplayed. Our grand-daughters are becoming Trekkies, Potterheads, Jedi and Bronies. And anime otaku (Halloween 2019 they went as Kiki, Nausicaä and Chibi Hermione Granger) Yes, 4, 5, & 7 year girls can be Bronies. We have the 4 and 7 year old with us this summer because their parent's workplaces are demanding a return to the office. Anyway, when I played this and that, and you know what I mean, that musical phrase, played, they both ran over to me and said , "Granpa, that's Star Trek," and the older one then asked, "Why are you crying?" "It's Trek", I answered and then she told me that I "have to get my emotions under control." The Mrs and I did a good job.
as long as it's not a prequel
For half of the trailer, it looked like Star Wars Rebels or something.
If Star Wars Rebels could pull off being a kids show while still maintain the maturity of what makes Star Wars, Star Trek Prodigy can do the same. Looking forward to this series
Why can’t the Star Wars cartoons or Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous look this good. :(
Don't care if it's still a kids show, I'm watching it.
So, your primary market is adults, why don't the adult shows get the quality animation treatment?
This looks really good and I'm loving how clean the art style is. The characters also feel like they'll be a fun addition.
Why are all these animated shows designed for kids? Are young kids really interested in Star Trek? Can’t you create an animated show for adults? With adult characters and adult story lines? WTF
IT'S ALREADY DEAD, PLEASE STOP.
imagine growing up and watching the original Star Trek...and years later seeing how much it has evolved and changed over the years I know i'm not the target audience for this show but the animation and hearing Janeway's voice makes me really inspired
Somebody tell the old white dudes at Paramount that trying to recreate the mediocrity of Star Wars Resistance isn't exactly going to launch a cash cow. This is so blah as to not interest kids while also being so incongruous with Trek that existing fans won't bother to check it out. It literally looked like a bad Chinese cgi show until the Starfleet ship was shoehorned in (way to just lift a plot point from Star Trek Beyond)
So did Janeway ever find her coffee?
https://youtube.com/shorts/lehgauTqROs?feature=share Star Trek Set
Must have burned too much cash to make this soon to be travesty🔥
This doesn't look like Star Trek.
Will give this a shot. Instantly reminded me of Trollhunters, which I really enjoyed. Haven’t caught up on the other Star Trek series but I’m a sucker for animated content
Much as I like Starfleet, I'm happy to see some new "civilian" characters running around in the Trek universe--whichever this one is in! The animation looks really nice, too. That said, civilians resurrecting a derelict Starfleet ship isn't entirely new to CGI animation. ;-) https://youtu.be/9mHyGlqsjsQ
"In a part of space where there are few rules, it's more important than ever that we hold fast to our own. In a region where shifting allegiances are commonplace, we have to have something stable to rely on. And we do. The principles and ideals of the Federation. As far as I'm concerned, those are the best allies we could have." CAPT. KATHRYN JANEWAY
For a show aimed at younger audiences this show has the potential to be very dark. Of course if it’s Star Trek addressing social issues is a must, not to mention it’s great storytelling. However the opening scene of this trailer has younger alien species basically kids in EVA suits pushing what looks like a milling device or something. If you’ve seen the film Conan the Barbarian you’ll know that the titular character was taken from his village after his parents were killed and sold into slavery pushing a mill for years. The scene at the beginning of this trailer reminds me of that. These kids appear to be Slaves, so the USS Protostar is a means of escape, and possibly a way of fighting back against their oppressors. I’m sure we’ll have our whimsical lighthearted moments of character development, and the characters growing relationship but this could be the darkest we’ve ever seen Star Trek get.
Art feels like Star Wars
Why do CBS Paramount keep trying to turn Star Trek into Star Wars?
As someone that likes to nerd out about spaceships. There is one minor/MAJOR detail that I am having issues with, How are they maintaining that ship? Ship maintenance though mundane, does take up a lot of screen time. I also know that there is a variety of tech in cannon that can self maintain a ship but this is something I hope they cover because it will bother me if I take up watching this series.
@eternalozzie I am at a loss as to why my comment needs a facepalm? I am someone who likes to look at the world building (and as someone who is a fan of Sci-Fi, I find the Star Trek tech-magic to be entertaining). In star trek maintenance is a part of world building (in Voyager, keeping the ship operational was one of the consistent secondary plots). It is cannon that Star Fleet has some of the best engineers that it is a joke that Starfleet engineers can get two sticks, a rock, and make a replicator.
there is not a facepalm emoji big enough for this comment.
Time to re-watch voyager yeah?! Like with star wars there is a point where you've invested so much in something and are not getting what you want out. Thus the hole gets dug even deeper and you must devote more resources to doing it. You find yourself now whoring 'the property' in any possible way you can. It's a downward spiral until all the value is depleted, but that outcome can not be permitted to occur: So here you are with a Star Trek show for Nickelodeon. Here's hoping Janeway travels to the future once again to obtain the technology needed to eliminate these wasted years.
Not saying it's a bad thing, but seems like Trek is essentially following Star Wars at this point and this is the Trek equivalent to Bad Batch? Again not saying it's a bad thing, IMHO Lower Decks is the best of the New Trek out there so far, and even though this is obviously aimed at a slightly younger audience so was Clone Wars when it first came out, so if this goes 5+ years it may turn into a franchise-saving masterpiece as well. PS, glad to see Janeway, even as a voice/hologram, back in action. Hilariously just as we glimpse Tom Paris cameo in the Lower Decks Season 2 trailer. Up next, Neelix?
Really bummed Janeway gets put into a childrens cartoon instead of a proper reboot
Hopefully this will ensure that it stays to Star Trek's traditionally hopeful and less-dark atmosphere, which is much more than I can say for something like Discovery. I welcome Janeway into this series, personally. It might end up being more Trek-like than the other recent shows have been... but, we'll have to see.
It's not as if they can't use her elsewhere.
This does look promising. However if it turns out good, then this will be a damning example on the issue of children’s animation often being more mature than adult animation, for when you compare Prodigy to Lower Decks.
Ugly disgusting character models. My gosh
Looks like the Odyssey-Class Starship from Star Trek Online. 0:39
I'm excited and I love how it ended, "There's a lot more stars than I thought." LOL The ECH Janeway is going to face palm hard with this crew, LMAO!
Seems to have a good reception so far hopefully not another nail in the coffin of this franchise
Those iconic bold musical notes accompanied by Janeway's voice, I got chills.
I liked the teaser. I appreciate the comedy being toned down
It looks like Star Wars. Since when to Star Trek Civils and Dress sense that seems like it could practically exist?
Could this be it? Is this Nickelodeon's return to greatness?
Remember when they used to know what made ST great? They seem to have replaced the winning formula with dog shit propaganda. Ya, this will work....Who would invest in this complete garbage? People with too much money and not enough brains obviously.
I feel like your talking about discovery and not prodigy
nah nah nah paramount you fucked up. we aint looking for some Disney star trek hybrid. like bro make a regular show that isn't made for people under 13
My son and I can’t wait to watch this together
Did I see right that the Okana dude from TNG is going to be in this series?
My god they actually did it. They finally made a cool looking hero ship.....After the discovery, what ever ship was in picard and the Cerritos. I wasn't sure if they knew how to make cool looking hero ships any more. *to be fair i did like the Enterprise redesign. Also the Cerritos has grown on me in a way. I kind of feel sorry for the little guy.
Im.ok with the Cerritos but ye other than that I agree
So did Federation just toss out a bunch of automated ships into the delta quadrant? If so why?
I feel like something happened to that ships crew. Cause starfleet doesnt just discard their ships like that. Money isnt the driving force anymore but that doesnt mean building a starship is cheap
This actually looks really good
Okay, but.. that guy looks nothing like a tellarite.
Thank God someone said it.... I still actually look forward to the show tho
Looks more like star wars than star trek. Garbage as usual!
I duno... I think this actually feels a bit more like star trek tbh. Maybe we'll get some actual exploring!
This better be good
We've only just begun.
Hopefully it’s not as bad as some other post-90s ST-TV shows, looks promising so far
One doesn’t experience self-transcendence, the illusion of self only dissipates 🎈
This looks very interesting, can’t wait to see it. And hearing Janeway will be more interesting powerful, I hope he uses the “Janeway Protocol”
What's the premise
Is this a TV series on nick or cbs+
Star Trek: Avatar?
It's the P.C. version of Star Trek...ughhhhh.
So robots and citadel are 100% rip off from Mass Effect franchise litterally identical.
Can anyone identify the music used in the trailer?
I got chills hearing Janeway's voice. I'm stoked for the future of Trek.
I'm older but so into any star trek with captain janeway in it , I have missed her voice , "DO IT" an Mr tuvok "fire" !!!
A bunch of really old guys are gonna watch it for Janeway, then complain that it's too kiddie, and that's a shame
or there will be a window on the bridge and they'll complain about that. they'll complain about things. its what they do.
Okay. Let's see how many canon errors and explosions we can count!
Mmm, I'm gonna need to see more than a one minute teaser trailer to decide if this is worth my time. Suffice to say that I have NOT been impressed with anything Star Trek in a looong time. Quite the opposite in fact.

You know what this means, right…. The return of Psycho Janeway!
that lil ship is heckin cool!
I HEARD JANEWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Visually unidentifiable as Star Trek save for the ship, kinda
So I know all the Star Wars fans are jazzed for this because it looks like their shows, and all the young Trekkies are like "Kate Mulgrew!" but I am sick to death of Disney's garbage, and why does Paramount keep trying to turn Star Trek into Star Wars, somebody tell me? And when did anyone ask for a child's POV on this universe? The main serieses had plenty of kids, there are YA novels, we didn't actually need our own Asoka Tano, DID WE? Maybe I'm just old but this trailer needed more Klingons in it or something.
I mean I think your under the impression the characters are younger than they actually are. Liek the main female character is 17
This looks wickedly silly. *Star Trek* isn't supposed to be comedic, though, and it looks comedic. *Lower Decks* and *Prodigy* seem to be more like *South Park* and *The Simpsons* under the guise of a *Star Trek* story. Sorry, but I'm looking forward more to season 2 of *Star Trek: Picard* coming out next January. Okay, go ahead and hit me with all your phasers and photon torpedoes!
The cartoony style looks comedic, but this trailer didn't really try to be funny. Lower Decks feels more like those other shows, but this doesn't feel like it's meant to be driven by that same type of humor.
I worked on this show for the last year and a half! Nice to finally see a trailer.
Looks like someone spent some money on this!
Holy cow. The Goldsmith theme is magnificent. Can't wait.
Looks nothing like Star Trek, this resembles Star Wars more than anything else. And going by the teaser, it looks like a bunch of poor alien kids stuck in a slave labor camp find a Federation starship stuck in some asteroid, then they use it to escape their miserable lives. Hope there’s more to the plot than just that.
Yeah, the federation is at war, they want this ship back. No safety anywhere. Enemies of the Federation are chasing them too. They attempt to escape to a wormhole that takes them to the Delta quadrant. Janeway having noticed it was children, decided to personally beam aboard, but the moment she materializes they enter the wormhole. The wormhole is stable on one end only, so they have no way back. But they don't want to go back, as their mission is to find a new safe home. Source: Imaginarium vol:1
Not me, a grown ass adult, crying when I heard Janeway.
You guys sure love those giant windows, don't you? Whatever happened to the view-screens? That ship's like a retrofitted STD verse Connie had a baby with a Sovereign.

Looks alot better than Lower Decks. Not trying to complain but Lower Decks SUCKS
This does not look like it should be related in any way with Star Trek... (Translation: It looks like crap!)
Looks like more kurtzman crap,... pass,...
Compair 00:39 to 00:43 Not the same ship unless the nacelles rotate to other positions.
Ooh I didn't even notice that!
I'm both Hopeful and afraid...could this be the first Good Star Trek show in 20 years?!
It will be shit just like all the other current Trek shows
Ok cmon.... lower decks was actually pretty good. That's it. Just lower decks.
Star Trek; The Bad Batch... I'm cool with this.
Did anyone else get a full-body tingle when the TOS fanfare played?
technicly it is the tmp/tng theme
Wow....you would think with the track record of New Trek so far, they would try something else. One, this is simply to get Parmount + subscribers. Two, Trek for little kids. Just the legacy and audience I'm sure Roddenberry was shooting for....and three, this is going to be another Kurtzman made stink bomb! Guaranteed!
Ok tbh I'm ok with a new show for kids it's just thay the ones for adults have been shit
When Prodigy was announced, I was very meh about it, but the more I find out about it, the more excited I get. It will be nice to revisit the Delta Quadrant, and it will be interesting to see another Star Trek series that has a focus on non-Starfleet aliens, like DS9.
The coloring is fantastic, I’m excited.
more doo doo clothed in an old franchise. this new generation of people is so weird. no concern for their dignity, no creativity or demand for anything new. unfortunate.
@L Joyce hmm you just proved my theory, thank you
@LivingCrematedCorpse ForYou over the age of 12. too old i guess
A quick question, how old are you
