Chris is so admirably versatile, and it's great to see him do Extraction and Spiderhead simultaneously, with the both being polar opposite roles

I think Miles Teller is gonna be another one of the greats in terms of acting. He is absolutely amazing in everything he works on.

Hope Chris is able to find more work outside of marvel. And of course more roles that don't dumb him down.

Personally, I think "Tenth of December" deserves a whole anthology series but I'll take what I can get :) George Saunders is a treasure and his stories should be experienced by as many people as possible.

The short story is amazing. Unfortunately the film diverges from the source material in ways that make it way more predictable and less impactful, in my opinion. Chris Hemsworth does a great job bringing Abnesti to life but it's not enough to carry the film.

I just finished watching this film and it was fantastic lots of different themes going on. I thought it was sci fi, dark comedy, drama and action either way I was entertained by two fantastic actors with an original script!

Just watched the film and to be honest it wasn’t that bad, but it had more potential to be better. I feel like it would’ve been better if this was a limited series with around 8 episodes that are each an hour long so we could explore the characters to a greater detail and their pasts so we could find out why they ended up here. It’s unfortunate that this didn’t happen. Oh well...

This movie is based on a short story, so there are no longer story about the characters.

The opening scene to The Star Trek remake is some of the best acting I have ever seen. Dude is an incredible actor..... its unfair.

It's worth noting you should also see his other films "Extraction" and "Bad Times At The El Royale". In which both films also show his wide acting range.

The first time I read "Escape from Spiderhead" I thought it would make for a dope film. (I was literally re-reading it this week - for the line-by-line appreciation.) I actually first noticed him in Star Trek. That opening sequence, I was immediately like “Wow, why didn't they cast HIM as Jim Kirk ?!?". Don't get me wrong, I liked Chris Pine in the role and loved him in the Wonder Woman movies. But I think Hemsworth would've been epic in that role.

This is the perfect role for Chris when you’ve seen Bad times at the El Royale where he plays an eccentric cult leader with an American accent. Miles in this movie makes it even better. This is the content that needs to be greenlit.

@dani Your assessment makes perfect sense, actually; 90-180 minutes of screen time is perfect for capturing a literary work of 1000 - 7500 words. I have never been a fan of the idea of cramming a full novella or novel into such a short motion picture. Novellas deserve at least a miniseries of 6-10 hours in total length while novels deserve around 3-6 seasons of solid programming totaling 24-72 hours of view time. Anything less than 24 hrs per novel is a missed opportunity. One could even make a case for both a feature film and a series to be made from the same novel so that fans could relive the same story in new and exciting ways. Some people love fast-paced storylines, and I respect that; I, however, enjoy long character arcs and the use of nuanced subplots to form the complexity of and build excitement for the main plot lines.

I was just talking the other day about how, while I like him, I don't necessarily take Chris Hemsworth seriously as an actor because in the bulk of his roles he plays the same character type, the hot, handsome, heroic hunk. This film starts out strong, the premise is interesting, the acting is good, looks great. But it completely falls apart in the final act, like it doesn’t know what it wants to be, either tonally or with the plot. Bit of a shame as all the pieces were there, it just didn’t come together imo
