You can’t even Compare Name Of Mehmed - Fathih with Skendebeg- in that time Mehmed was focus to take Constantinople he just send smal armies to distract Skendebeg while he conquered Constantinople. Kruja was insignificant for Mehmed.Constantinople was Significant like Washington today and you talk about some smal village like Kruja.

Insignificant? Come on man.. Mehmed Fathih and his father couldn't capture Kruja for 5 months. That in itself is quite an accomplishment. And then there's the battle of Albulena, where Skanderbeg crushed the ottomans of 60-80.000 soldiers against his 10-15.000 soldiers. But no worry's, next episode will depict how significant he really was. 😉

@Children of the Eagle Marin Barleti born 1460 while Skendebeg died 1468 means that Barleti was smal kid of 8 years when Skendebeg died this is proof that he could not know real history of Skendebeg 2) it is known that he have invented some stories between Skendebeg and Mehmed Fatih to his own and church interests you can check this facts in Wikipedia history as well.

@GAMER STUDIO By your logic, that Barleti could not have known Skanderbeg's real history because he was only a child, the same logic would then apply to Turkish chroniclers like Mehmed Nesri (1450-1520-ish, who gave a detailed account of the siege of Kruja in 1450). But that's not how the process of establishing historical events really works. To paint an historical event are rarely as straightforward as you mentioned. Sure, Barleti's work has shown to have some inaccuracy, but that doesn't mean he was completely wrong. Historians must first identify all available sources, then evaluate the reliability and credibility of each source. Once historians have identified all reliable sources, they must compare and cross-reference them to identify discrepancies, author's bias, contradictions, and gaps in the historical record. Finally, historians must interpret the evidence to draw conclusions about what happened, why it happened, and what impact it had on the broader historical context.

Btw Pal Dukagjini made peace with ottomans because he wanted to attack venice not because he wanted to be against skenderbeg

According to Kristo Frasheris sources, Pal Dukagjini left the League and sided against Skanderbeg at a time. Although they never fought against each other in battle, Pal did conspire against Skanderbeg after the first siege of Kruja.

I think the rift starts around 1448. Venetian documents mention in October of 1448 "the magnificent Scanderbeg and the respectable Nicolas Duchaginus (Dukagjini) representing himself as well as other lords of Albania, have unanimously agreed in a good strong and everlasting peace on the following terms, rules and conditions..." Nicholas (there was more than one) Dukagjini helps secure rights of villages that were once Paul (pal) Dukagjini's. It seems Skanderbeg and Nicholas had to persuade Paul Dukagjini to give up land, he occupied/managed that was “property” of the above mentioned Venetians. However, it worked in the benefit of Skanderbeg and Nicholas as 1400 ducats per year (to Skanderbeg), plus an additional 200 from a Durazzo (Durres) Property; which I have no doubt was split or essentially a ‘shakedown’ since the Venetians had lost the 1447-1448 war with the Albanians. Venetians, consistently toyed with Albanian nobility to go against each other as long as their (Venetian properties) were not touched. Finally, when Pal left and others did, it did not mean they took every Dukagjin or fighters with them. Dukagjini (in particular) were always in the thick of the action. Him conspiring against Skanderbeg is possible, but to what extent? Not sure. There was, however, competition between the two families as the Dukagjini were the 'ruling dynasty' as Muzaka said and now the Kastrioti's were in power and in favor with many allies in italy and elsewhere.

History should be an objective discipline, otherwise it would become an ideology. If we would rely on the doctrines which mostly constructed after the WW2, we should also believe that George Washington or even the Moses himself were Serbian. In those aforementioned times there wasn't any national state, the idea of nationalism was to be invented after 300 years. In that context, I wonder if hating the other is a necessity for a nation to love themself? If yes, why the hate is concentrated upon one nation rather than Romans, Macedonians or Slavs? Centuries old social structures and relations are much more complicated than what Enver Hoxha believed. Balkans are one of the most culturally rich regions on Earth and we should love this enrichment.
