I took two semesters of Astronomy in college, and loved it, but I never even understood what Trigonometry was until I watched this video. Kind of mind-blowing. I wish math was taught this way in school. Thanks man, you are doing good work.

I love space, everything about the universe and planets and our solar system, I always wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger until I started developing several immune system diseases. The whole first section was oddly nostalgic for me. Math wasn’t my favorite subject but I have a lot of fun memories and this topic in particular always stands out in my memory

Right? I never enjoyed any math classes in math or college except maybe statistics, but I'm fascinated by math and physics as they relate to space and watch a lot of YT vids do evening the subjects.

This is the first time I have seen this program, at first I thought come on pal pick up the pace . But a few seconds in he explains so patiently the math used to measure how far the moon is. I am a knucklehead and never was good at math , it was so interesting how he explained the history of the math . This video reminds me of my better professors, whom I could zone-out while listening to and yet still learn something. I just did the math; if the Moon were 11.6 feet away, Proxima Centauri would be as far away as the Moon _really_ is.

Rich, you are truly an inspiration with your art, knowledge, and overall ASMR mastery. First of all the subject of Size, Distance, and Time are just an absolutely huge conversation to tackle. I always think back to the Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan---almost brings tears to the eyes---and just that comparison/analogy. I think the true scale and size of the universe of one of those things the human mind just cannot fully comprehend. We view the universe in a human centric way, and to see the actual vast scale of existence the universe would be almost too painful for us to truly comprehend. Because in some ways that kind of size really leads to an existential crisis that is just hard to wrap our brains around. I really appreciate the metaphors and comparisons. This was the closest we will get to an ASMR relaxing journey through the universe. Welcome back and its been an honor to get a chance to speak with you more in depth.

The reason I love this channel so much is that it works for more than just ASMR. It’s one of those things you can listen to while going about your day or doing just about anything, because there’s substance in the videos that you’re learning and taking in at the same time. This means I can just play this in the background while working, relaxing, or doing basically anything else during my day because there’s information to listen to and pay attention to, meaning I don’t lose interest. I love your content and I hope you keep making it for quite a long time, just really wanted to give my praise for this channel.
