@D E Yes, that's the main reason the other SWAC coaches hated him. He easily out recruited them and JSU had more resources. If he had stayed he would have continued to dominate the SWAC because of that reason.

Prime did everything perfectly, he brought recognition, new facilities (outta his own paycheck at that), new practice field, brought College Gameday to an HBCU for the first time in history, he had XFL’s combine there, he brought big names (including the biggest actor on earth), he shined a light on JSU and HBCU’s, they estimate he coulda quadrupled JSU’s fan base, he brought new uniforms, new gloves and new cleats, he changed the attitude and mindset there, and he brought ALOT of money to JSU!! Like $100’s of millions of bucks there, and the most important is all the kids lives he changed positively in his 3 years at JSU, he did more in 3 years than ANY other coach coulda done in decades!

Again, if he was bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars, he wouldn’t had to give up half his salary to rehab facilities. I'm so proud of this opportunity for Coach and Shedeur. Some are salty feeling "betrayal" and that's wrong. Coach did what he came to do at JSU; not just win, but inspire, incite and rejuvenate and left a hell of a blueprint! Administration and Boards have the ball now to do what should've been done; more eyes are on them now. HBCUs shouldn't have to lobby for State funds just to be brought up to par as others BUT the reality is what it is, so other avenues such as corporate sponsorship is needed .He saw the needs and shortfalls that been there & others saw, but didn't readily address it, and he did what he did. I'm sure he'll always advocate for HBCUs bcuz when he got there, he couldn't believe it, and he was correct in stating that HIGH SCHOOLS facilities were better BUT he gave up half his salary and garnered support from sponsors. He could've left before he started knowing that he had to do more than coach. This move is not about $ because he already has that; it's about the opportunity and the challenge. He was most likely going to leave after kids graduated anyway. He is not in his 20s to be at a school for 50+ years as the great, legendary Eddie Robinson of Grambling State Univ. I'm happy for him!
