When I was assigned to Korea I lived off base. The owner of the room we rented was a 7th degree dan in TKD. We felt pretty safe in that household.

@Stew Fire you never did TKD for saying something that dumb. 7th degree dan can kill you with one kick. So yes, it's not made for street fighting, but someone who have this kind of skill is HIGHLY dangerous.

@Stew Fire Your argument is as old as martial arts. You are entitled to your opinion. TKD or any martial art is only as effective as the practitioner. Too many times people get confused and compare apples to oranges. In my opinion, ALL the treadmill martial art schools are not meant to turn students into street fighters. No one but a dedicated student who spends years of practice can become seriously good Your bashing of TKD is really ignorant and shows your lack of true knowledge. But it's your opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. They're like a#@ h#$%#, everyone has one.

You know that TKD is not that practically applicable, right? At most it will give you confidence, fitness and a few moves. But if someone who does kickboxing or mma comes along, you might as well give up on the spot.

@James Flannery-Serle That is pretty advanced, and where I went the brown black stripe belt is 2nd to last until the black belt itself, Congrats.

I got to brown with black stripe (1 gup) then stopped going then quit(ITF taekwondo) basically broke a tenet of Taekwondo
