There’s some definite power in this set. The planeswalker “Talent” cards are ridiculous. Seeing all the Battle and Siege cards makes me kinda disappointed Wizards didn’t make March of the Machines a year-long event over multiple sets. Some of these planes they only visited once, 20+ years ago and it’d be neat to see how the plane developed and then reacted to the invasion. You can’t tell me anyone in Mercadia was expecting that, lol.

I was hyped at first to see the set when spoilers came out. But now that I see pre-release prices suck and not the usual hundreds of dollars hype, I don't think I want to get any. That and after watching some collector openings I don't like the variations on the showcase and full art. They look horrible.

The different treatments are just the showcase version (or masterpiece in some cases) from the plane they belong to. For instance, Drana and Linvala are from Zendikar, so they got the Zendikar Rising showcase version. It isn't, as you said, about seeing what version we like better. It's just a multiversal super set.

That said I totally agree with you on not researching the set before opening- especially a set like this with so many different treatments- preserving the surprise is both more fun for you and therefore more fun for us to watch. Awesome set! I think you referred to the rainbow foils as halo foiling. Halo foiling is just the foil border and no foiling on the art. Could be wrong though.

Halo foils are the wavy ones. But the halo foiling on the invention ones are only on the borders. The Ragavan halo is only on the border so it’s kind of lame.

Are the serial cards a case hit? Or are they more rare?

Each frame is from the card's respective universe I believe.

The different treatments are directly related to the Plane they are from... with that said, it looks like only the multiverse legends have the Halo foiling... I wish they added that to the main MOM set

That halo foil is sick! Not to be negative at all, but it reminds me of looking into oil spill on the road or a parking lot. It has that swirly rainbow look. I love that black & white "simplistic" artstyle as well. Such nice lines, and it's such an extreme contrast. It reminds me a bit of monochrom art style in some graphic novels. Not far into the video, looking forward to seeing that serial number card. Hope the sun is shining wherever you're at 🌞

I pulled a serialized Aurelia and totally missed it, wasn’t until I was going back to sleeve my mythics that I noticed it….

Seems like cards 9,10,11 & 14 are your best bet at consistent good cards and rest are generally not interesting unless you actually get something in the 15 slot which seems very very rare.

The best about this set is, MTG taking your money to make easy money.

They need to stop making the innovocation or special insert cards to prevent destroying the value of the originals. If they continue you will see exact reprints of the originals destroying cards with huge values.

why did they serialise that card when it looks the complete same as the other one pulled? what value does putting a number on the same card everyone else has but the art isn't ruined by a big block of numbers. very odd decision by wotc.

I agree- if they can do all of these variants why not make the serialized ones more "unique" by giving them some kind of exclusive treatment. While it doesnt look terrible on this particular one, the style of the serialization could also do with some enhancement so it doesn't just look like a sticker got put on it. Fun set but it really drives home the notion that wizards or hasbro or whoever is making the calls is "throwing spaghetti at the wall" with both type and quantity of product at the moment.

Set after set content creators are sent heavy boxes to drive up profits. Don't get fooled people, they open this product early for a reason. Buy singles.

It’s not set up. They get to show what they want, you don’t know how many they opened. But it does show that there are a lot of these serialized cards. Some are better than others for a serialized pull though.
