✦✦✦ Beach Race ✦✦✦
Race day started with prologue at which riders supposed to have two hot laps and get the best time possible. Right before the second run, it started raining heavily which effected the lap times profoundly and we had a surprise winner at the prologue, Rene Jerbach (EST).
The weather was perfect in the afternoon. The fastest 150 at the Prologue was qualified to Beach Race and they took start in three groups (50 Pax). Jonathan Richardson took the early lead with a fantastic start and kept the podium fight for a while. He then lost positions and finished the race with P4.
It was all about Wade Young, he seemed really strong and comfortable on the bike which paid off with a clear victory over the day. Mario Roman finished in P2 and David Cyprian in P3.
Graham Jarvis had a good race as well and got a good start position for the next day. He finished with P5.
✦✦✦ Forest Race ✦✦✦
Wade Young had an amazing day and claimed his second victory of the race. It was Graham Jarvis who finished with P2 and Mario Roman with P3.
✦✦✦ Canyon Race ✦✦✦
After missing the Canyon sector in 2017 we were really excited to have it back last year but it was a real short version of it and no one could get a real taste of it. Sea to Sky 2019, on the other hand, is a real different story. Thanks to the organisation we had all the bridges and passes through the Canyon and so we have it all this year.
The day started in the halfway of the Canyon and went all the way up for a 35km single track. The fastest rider covered it in 01:30:14,24.
Mario Roman was the man of the day and finished it on top with nearly 2,5 minutes clear from Graham Jarvis who finished P2 for the day. Beach Race and Forest Race winner Wade Young came short due to a brake disk problem and completed his day with P3.
✦✦✦ Mountain Race ✦✦✦
After a hard ride towards the Mount Olympus, the order to reach CP9 was Mario Roman, Wade Young and Graham Jarvis. After CP9 Mario got lost the track which caused him losing his position to Wade but then he recovered that time and caught him. Sherco teammates fought hard through the finish line and at a technical climb Wade got stuck and Mario recovered his position back and kept it till the finish lane. After getting two consecutive P2’s at the Sea to Sky (2017&2018) Mario finally made it and won the race with only 5 seconds clear from his teammate.
