Since she probably wasn't going to be hurt, i can understand the comical in the scenario. It wasn't schadenfreude, which i hate. But of course filming her would never cross my mind (and i'm a photographer) and i would help her. But that's how sick and dysfunctional some people are nowadays.

Having grown up on a farm, hypnotizing chickens is something we all knew about, did, and laughed our asses off at. And absolutely NO ONE believed us when we said we did it. If anybody is wondering, the chicken hypnotization is a thing known as "tonic immobility". Essentially it occurs when the animal feels it's in the presence of a predator and attempts to feign death, albeit very poorly.

I knew this chicken trick, but a bit different: draw a circle around the chicken with your finger. Works every time. And I don't think the "cat thinks a cucumber is a snake" is true. Besides I never heard of the cucumber thing at all, and all my cats ignore cucumbers as any other vegetables... one of my cats regularly catches snakes and slow worms (totally ignoring mice and birds) and brings them home. Not scared at all. No (lethal) venomous snakes around here, luckily...

That's what I do whenever I hear noises in my room while I'm trying to sleep and I think it's a ghost. I just close my eyes and lie there and pretend I don't exist.
