There's a story behind this song, and it's pretty depressing. There was a bear who used to be young and innocent, but then a Rabbit stole his hat, and he ended up murdering the poor little Rabbit. He ended up regretting it, so he took the flower from the Rabbit and went to the police and turned himself in. The lyrics actually tie to the story. And it's really depressing. That's why the song is so sad also if u go to 2:26 and pause it you can see theres a poster of the bunny with the same flower the bear has in his hand. Things were better and we were more trusting, but things took a turn for the worse recently... He doesn't want to talk to me anymore after he tried to make a move on my partner and I got mad at him. Ok, so this song isn't like what you think, no, it's not Freddy Fazbear. It is actually darker. This song is based on a book called "I Want My Hat Back" (not the dr version)! "I Want My Hat Back" is where a bear has lost his hat and asks if anyone has seen it. He comes across a rabbit with a hat (presumably the bear's hat). He asks the rabbit if he has seen a hat. The rabbit says something along the lines of "No I have not seen your hat, I would not take a hat, don't ask me any more questions." The bear doesn't ask anymore. The bear is sad cus he lost his hat. THEN he realizes that the rabbit has stolen his hat, he beats on the rabbit and eats him. At the end a squirrel says "have you seen a rabbit with a hat around?" the bear says something along the lines of "No I have not seen a rabbit, I would not EAT a rabbit, don't ask me any more questions." referring to that he ate the rabbit to get his hat back. In this song at the end at the town part, we see signs saying "WE DEMAND JUSTICE" with a picture of a rabbit at the bottom. Meaning that he feels guilty for what he did. So the bear turns himself in. Sad ain't it?

What really gets me is that the bear comes to terms with everything he won't be able to experience anymore when he goes to prison, recollecting his best memories, then takes that step and presses on. The song and video emphasise his unwaivering will to atone, shown also with his walk cycle animation and head bobs being synced with the song, which is about making things better. It's a masterpiece.

When this song came out I was at my lowest point in life, just a dumb teen wrapping myself into dumber mistakes, letting people judge me for who I was and taking it all for granted. This song came out and at first I rejected it, made me feel even worse than I already was and cried myself to sleep, flooding horrible memories of what my life was before it went all wrong. Now, listening to it now, after never wanting it to hear it again, I’ve never been happier to listen to it, cause it was meant for me, for what my life is now, how I surpassed everything thrown at me.

pues respondiendo a tu comentario, te doy algo de contexto, el oso es de un libro ingles llamado "quiero mi sombrero devuelta" ("want my hat back") que trata de un oso que busca su sombrero, preguntando a todos los animales si lo han visto o si lo tienen, hasta que llega a un conejo que lo tiene, pero le miente diciendole que no, pero el oso se entera y lo mata de la ira, (la flor que carga es la que tenia el conejo que asesino) mientras que poco a poco se va arrepintiendo, reflexionando hasta entregarse a la policia, si mira bien, casi al final donde llega a el pueblo vas a ver como hay carteles con un conejo y flores, que dicen cosas como "queremos al responsable" o algo asi (si miras los carteles del conejo, veras que tiene esa misma flor que carga el oso), por eso pasan esos flshbacks, otro dato, es que el cocodrilo del final tambien hizo algo similar, por el minuto 1:21 se ve el pantano con ranas y flores, para que al minuto 1:31 solo hallan flores destruidas y un nenufar con muchas floras, dando a entender que el cocodrilo se comio a las ranas (puedes verlo por que el cocodrilo tiene tambien una flor) y pues lo del gato, ni idea, caundo sepa actualizare, y la cancion te ayuda a reflexionar, y darte cuenta de los errores que hiciste y como cambiarlos, por eso palabras como "take it back to the start" de como puedes, si intentas, iniciar de cero para ser mejor, cosas que prestandole demaciada atencion al video y sabiendo este contexto puedes apreciar (igual si sabes lo del gato me podrias decir?)

Edit: there's also two version, one of them being the dr version but not being the one this is based off. Maybe the non dr version featured the ending scene of this song.

6 years later i realise its a song by Mr.Weebl, remixed by TLT and animated by Kekeflipnote. This crossover is more ambitious than avengers ever was

The naivety yet somewhat matureness of the bear at the beginning when he says, " Everyone makes mistakes, I've had more than my share but it's okay 'cause I'm gonna repair it" really hits different after watching and listening to this song over and over realizing that he only wants redemption for his actions after the 'incident' he incurred towards the little rabbit but we all know that in life nothing is ever truly forgiven and repaired; the family will always remember him as a murderer no matter what he does and so will everyone else have that memory of him while to us he's forgiven seeing as to how he feels, reflects upon and even has the will and courage to turn himself in willingly to hopefully prove that he has truly "Had a change of heart" as he says in the song.

When I first heard this song three years ago it really stuck with me. I'm glad to see that it is still a banger after all these years.

Something about this over the original is just. Like a true feeling of deep sadness and remorse over the original. The animation just fits so well but the song by itself feels like I am falling into a dark lit where there is one single ray of light at the top of the pit that I fell into. The feeling of falling into water and sinking down into the dark depths while still being able to breathe is just. Surreal.
