Thank you very much. In Jordan there was also a change in succession by royal decree. King Hussein's brother Crown Prince Hassan was next in line. Just before the King Hussein died and to everyone's surprise, he declared his son - now King - Abduallah II as Crown Prince. This was back in around 1999.
Vor 3 yearsRenShiWu +25
Whelp, he probably looked at his short, bald, kinda nerdy brother, looked at his not-as-short, coiffed, military man younger son, and said, "I'ma go with the young one. Sorry, bro." Also, Abdullah's mum is English, and Hussein probably considered the Brits would be willing to uphold the future regime more readily, with this connection. By the way, the other Crown Prince (for a time) was Hamzah, whose mother is American. For similar reasons, I assume, Hamzah was given his position so that America would also uphold the future regime.

Thank you for the useful video. I just want to bring to your attention that the Saudi dynasty was started by establishing the first Saudi State (Emirate of Diriyah) 1744–1818. Then they start again and established The Emirate of Nejd, which was the second Saudi state 1824–1891. The current Saudi Arabia is the Third Saudi State established by King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud.

Precise, objective, and lucid. Well done. Pretty much well known history, but it was a good refresher. The designation of Prince Talal as Crown Prince, brother of King Hussain of Jordan, and his hugely unexpected and equally unceremonious removal and replacement by Prince Mohammed, son of Hussain was missed.

As someone who is originally Arab and aware of these families histories, they're more ties to connect them to other royal families around the world, which is less known, like their connections ( the hashimite) to the Ottoman & to the former Egyptian royal family, and the latter has a connection as well to the late former Russian tsar Nicholas II

It might have been helpful to note, when discussing the Saudi brothers, that the order of succession was only relevant for those born from Abdul Aziz's favorite wife, Hassa bint Ahmad Al Sudairi. That's why these seven brothers are known as "The Sudairi Seven". (Half)brothers born from other wives had no possibility of succession.

King Saud and King Faisal, second and third kings, were sons of other, more senior wives. Faisal's mother died when he was a baby. Neither had Hassa al-Sudairi for mother. Neither were Kings Khalid and Abdullah. Only Kings Fahd and Salman (the current king) were sons of Hassa. Of course King Salman chose to abandon the generational rule principle (brothers succeeding by order of seniority and family vote) in favor of his own son Mohammed.

History of the kingdom of Morocco from administration to Alevis: In the year 788 AD, Morocco witnessed a new era in its history, after the emergence of the first Islamic country in the country, which is the Idrisi state, and here in the history of Morocco from schooling to the Alevis, we will learn about the history of Morocco from study to the ruling family of Morocco today, the Alawite family. Contents 1 Morocco during the administration. 2 The Almoravid state. 3 Almohad state. 4 The Marinid state. 5 Alawite State. Morocco during the rule of administration: After Idris bin Abdullah managed to escape the massacre of the Abbasid state in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and upon his arrival in Morocco and because he belonged to the family of Al-Bayt, it was significant, and it was sold in the Moroccan city of Volubilis by its inhabitants, the Berbers, and he became their leader. Despite his escape from the massacre in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Harun al-Rashid managed to kill him, and after his death his son assumed the leadership of the state, and he built the city of Fez and made it one of the greatest cities in the region, and his son Muhammad bin Idris II took over the country after his father's death, so that the end would begin. . In the year 836, Muhammad bin Idris II divided the country, and made for each of his brothers a share of the state, and this division had a devastating effect, as the wars between them began to control more lands, and in 974 the state officially ended, and another country began to appear. The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites The Almoravid state. The Almoravid state was not the second country in Morocco, it was preceded by a state known as the Maghraoui state, but it did not succeed in sustaining much, and it ended after less than 100 years, so that the Almoravid state in Morocco appeared as a strong country, and made the city of Marrakech its capital. The state managed to extend outside Morocco, on the Iberian Peninsula, and its golden age was during the era of Yusuf bin Tashfin, who founded the city of Marrakech, and was able to unite Morocco and add Andalusia to his country, after being exposed to numerous campaigns from the Christian kingdoms. The state lived good periods of its history, and also difficult periods, the most important of which was the emergence of a new country in the region, the Almohad state, a country that managed to end the rule of the Almoravids, after it gained control of the state capital, the city of Marrakesh. The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites Almohad state. In 1121 a country emerged founded by a number of Berber tribes, and the year 1147 was the most important year in the history of this country, after it took control of Marrakesh, the city was one of the most important cities in Morocco and the region, and then succeeded in controlling other cities outside Morocco, in Algeria And Libya to Tunisia and Andalusia. The state imposed its control on Morocco, and Ibn Khaldun says that Idris al-Maamun, the successor to the state at the time, killed more than one hundred Sheikhs of the people of monotheism in the city of Marrakesh, and made the prayer recited in the Amazigh language instead of Arabic, and also allowed the building of churches on its lands, and building strong relations with kings European countries. Beginning in the year 1213, the state began to retreat, especially after the fall of Andalusia in the hands of the Christian kingdoms, the emergence of plague, and the loss of Algeria in favor of the Hafsid state, but in Morocco a new country emerged, the Marinid state, which finally eliminated the Almohad state in Morocco in 1269 . The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites The Marinid state. The Marinids were Berber tribes that appeared in the year 1244 AD, about 25 years before the end of the Almohad state and that was at their hands, this country was able to expand rapidly in its surroundings, and did not find little resistance, until it managed to control Morocco completely, and extended to Tunisia. This state made the city of Fez its capital, and distinguished them from other countries with a number of characteristics, including the great freedom that was granted to its inhabitants in the freedom of belief and creativity, so the Maliki school appeared again in Morocco, after it disappeared for a period of time, especially during the Almoravid era. In its golden age, the Marinid state managed to build new cities, such as Fez al-Jadid, Tetouan and Mansoura, and that era witnessed the emergence of a number of Muslim personalities, the most famous of which was the traveler Ibn Battuta, and it also attracted to her a group of scholars of the age, such as Ibn Khaldoun and San al-Din Ibn al-Khatib. The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites The history of Morocco from the administration to the Alawites Alawite state. Before the beginning of this state, Morocco had ruled for a period of time from the Saadiyya and Wattah states, but it did not last long, and after its end the Alawite state appeared, in the year 1631, and it remains to this day. The first capital of the family was the city of Fez, and in 1672 the capital was converted to Meknes, to return again to Fez, and in 1912 after the French protection, the official capital of the country became the city of Rabat. The first to rule Morocco from this family is Moulay Sharif, and the ruler was called the Sultan. Beginning in the year 1957 after the founding of the New Kingdom, the name became the king, or Commander of the Faithful.

Hi i did not check in details but i found some mistakes about Iranian imperial dynasties: Qajar: Mohammad shah was the son of Prince Abbas mirza, who was the eldest son from a qajar mother of Fath Ali shah. Fath Ali shah, who was the second emperor of the Qajar dynasty was the son Hussein Qoli khan, who was the son of Mohammad Hasan Khan, the chiftain of Quyunlu branch of the Qajar Tribe and the father of Agha Mohammad Khan, the first emperor of the family. Of course Agha Mohammad khan was casterated during his imprisonment by Adel shah Afshar, king of Khorasan, and hence did not have children. An interesting story: few years ago, the for head of Qajar family, Ali mirza khan provided documents that in fact, Mohammad Hasan Khan, which is the son Fathali khan, is actually the son of Shah Soltan Hussein of Safavid empire. During the siege of Isfahan, due the services of Fathali khan, the emperor gave him one of his wives who was pregnant already. On the otherline Safavid family line also continued for another century, because Nader Shah Afshar decided not to kill them, as evrn he was thinking that they are legitmate rulers and one day Iranians, may want them back.

King Saud and king Faisal never had a rivalry between them. King Faisal had different opinions but he always respected Saud and never went above his words. King Faisal took the throne before Saud died due to Saud deteriorating health in the latter stages. Basically Saud gave Faisal the throne and left the country. King Saud (may God keep his soul at peace) had poor finance management skills and spent the oil money in all the wrong ways leading to an economy depression, while Faisal fixed it... Khaled and fahad weren't the ones who built the economy.. It was Faisal who did it.

As well as King Faisal had a spine of steel. He did not lose to blackmail During the 1973 Arab-Israeli war when King Faisal cut off oil supplies and deprived the west from oil for supporting Israel, Kissinger told King Faisal: "If Saudi Arabia doesn't lift the boycott, America will come and bomb the oilfields". This was King Faisal's reply. "You are the ones who can't live without oil. You know, we come from the desert, and our ancestors lived on dates and milk and we can easily go back and live like that again.”

Great video, but there seems to be a little error, as King Abdullah of Jordan's second wife became Princess Muna and not Queen Muna when they married.

Amman's international airport was renamed after Queen Alia, shortly after her sudden death.
Vor 3 yearsBallantyne Moyes +3
Royal Jordanian Airlines was originally called Alia after the Queen.
Vor 3 yearsamman92 +3
@Ballantyne Moyes Actually it was called Aaliyah عاليه (meaning a female of a high statusa) after the king's first born daughter from his first marriage it's similar when spelled in English but the Queen's name was Alia علياء (meaning sublime) it's probably why they changed the airline name to The Royal Jordanian

@amman92 Many thanks for your reply. I learn something new everyday. Best wishes. :-)

"renamed" is not exactly right. It was named after the late queen from day one. The queen died in 1977 while the airport was built in 1983.

Before Abdulaziz captured Nejad, the capital Riyadh was ruled by Al Rashid family. Whom he beheaded to take over, from there his conquest began to take over other provinces. Abdulaziz came from Kuwait. Throw some light on that, about his predecessors and of Al Rashid family.

The house of saud is traced back to the bakr bin wail tribe which fought the battle of dhi qar against the Sassanid empire and can be traced back further to the Amorites

Malazgirt 1071 After the Arab spring Morocco became a constitutional monarchy. We make elections every 4 or 5 years. And the current dynasty is ruling since 1661 which means they predate Italy (there was no italy backthen) or any french/british influence in north africa. No one put them they basically fought for it and united the country... They even defeated the portuguese and spaniards to reconquer almost every costal city in Morocco

@Moulay Ismail You are correct, but what is the solution, what should be done to correct the problem. Is it socialism or is it another selection from the secular options or is it Islam? I say Islam , the true Islam Khalifah rashidah.

I watched the first few minutes a of the video and there are a few things that were off. The hashemites are sons of hashim, not just the grandson of the prophet. His other daughters had sons too but they weren’t considered hashemites because their lineage doesn’t include hashim. The reason why Fatmah’s (RA) sons are considered hashimites is because their father is Ali (RA) who’s lineage ends with Hashim.

This might be hard to do but who would be king of ancient Macedonia today?
Vor 3 yearsWeltfenos +45
I mean, its useful charts, of course he can do it. But let's give him a bit of a break in that one
Vor 3 yearsA N +75
That's impossible. If your going by the argead dynasty they died out beyond trace. If your going by the antigonids they became private citizens in the roman empire so no one knows their descendents. If your reaching even more and are going by the ptolomies they did have descendents in the Roman client states but their claimed descendents are mostly baselss, and difficult to trace.
Vor 3 yearsSwoost +30
We can’t really trace descendants back that far I’m not sure if there’s even a single example of someone knowing their ancestor from 2000+ years ago. In fact it’s so long ago that if someone from back the had descendants alive today there’s a good chance there’s hundreds of millions of them lol
Vor 3 yearsMarko Leo +28
I actually tried tracing a lineage and found that the modern day Bagrationi dynasty have the best possible link to the throne of ancient Macedonia. But the lineage is very tenuous and very likely inaccurate, because of the reasons J N cited. It was a fun genealogical exercise, though!

It might be interesting for some to know that King Talal is strongly believed to have been forcefully moved without truly being ill, and the thrown passed over to his under-age son Hussein. A move orchestrated by his wife Zain AlSharaf with the support of the Brits/Americans. Also, the ruling dynasty in Morocco is of the Prophet’s decent, pbuh.
