If Texas and Florida are allowed to attack the constitution, why would New York cares about the tranquility, defense, or welfare of Texas?

This is not hyperbole, there are segments on podcasts, Youtube channels, and right-wing news media that are showing people in those places LITERALLY opening their houses and property to total strangers that fall in to these categories. One story , in particular, struck me in the feels. A woman's son had died some time ago. When he was a teen she had the area above their garage, or maybe it was a barn, converted in to a living space. This was done to give her son some freedom and personal space. She refused to make a kitchen, due to the financial strains and safety issues, but he had his own bathtub, shower, sink, and obviously running water. The boy had his self-imposed curfews on friends, girls music, and whatnot. He was very respectful that his elderly mother had to get up very early. The mom felt guilty cuz dude was like 16 and was such a dutiful son she made him the pimp shack. A few years later the boy, while on his way back home after going to get his friend when he called from a friend's party and said he was too drunk to drive. He got out of bed and decided to just take him to his house because the friend couldn't find his keys. Not fat from the party, a drunken dude that was going back to the party to get his cellphone he had left, went over the line and bullied her son's cat off the edge of the road. It wad a far enough drop for the car to roll over completely before rolling g again and leanding on the roof. I don't remember but I want to say they said he was fine but just said that because the mom was so freaked out. She met her son at the hospital but he was announced dead. I remember think how weird life is. Of his friend called 10 or 20 minutes later, if his friend didn't lose his keys they may have went a different way to get him home, if the other driver didn't leave his phone, didn't realize until he was home. If he had a friends to say give me... ok, I won't go into all that. We all get my point. Crazy shizz happens it's confusing and sucks. Anyway, she hadn't touched the room since she had straightened it up a bit. A bit of dishes here, a pair of socks or work shirt there. It was otherwise very organized and tidy. She had overhead a conversation of a small family one day. The Spanish migrants were very polite and happy, she recalled. The father was asking the cashier about the hiring status of the company. He had some vouchers and an electrics food stamps card, but the benefits were nearly depleted and the man needed a job.As she sat in line ,coming closer to her turn, she then heard him ask about lodging. The man promised if his two children and wife could stay they would work, hand and foot, doing anything the lodger would ask of them. Dishes, laundry, housekeeping. If they owned a farm or business, the wife and children had experience doing gardening, tending animals, and the wife had some experience on a register. Whatever she had forgotten she could easily pick back up, quickly. The children weren't perhaps quite as helpful, seeing as they were very young and didn't perhaps retain as much of the experience, but the man had emphasized they enjoyed doing things like tending animals, housework, and various chores one would imagine are suitable for small children. He repeated, time after time, there was need for whoever to count him amongst those staying. He would take care of himself, but if it were possible, he would like to come to the location and spend time with his family. He stressed ,over and over, he would pay whatever interest, he used the word "extra" they would ask for however many weeks it would take him to find work. He was to begin working immediately when he came to the states, but of course the people that were supposed to meet him and help him get started on this side never surfaced. Leaving him and his family stranded with little options. Anyway, the cashier told the guy to stop back in a couple days he'd ask around. Which, he probably genuinely did, wasn't helping the family that day. So, the woman talks to the dad and mom. The lady offer to make dinner and talk about what she or her community do tonight. In truth, the lady said she had already decides they were staying with her, she was actually steeling herself for packing her son's things. As they ate and drink, before too long. The lady said she had briefly forgot about having to pack. She had enjoyed a dinner, laughed, and was happy for a bit. Anyway, long story not even longer, they all went and packed the garage/barn and the family squeezed tightly, but oh so happily, in their new home. The first bit of stability since they reached this side of the fence. The lady said there was not a morning where she didn't have her newsaper and coffee sitting on her table on the porch with a little note, "Going out to look for work. I picked you up a coffee from the church and brought your paper up the driveway. (Wife's name) and the kids are home if you need anything. Thank you so much! "And he drew a little Spanish man with a sumbrero and he was riding a donkey and the ....nah I'm just kidding. It just said tyvm and that was that. The lady did say the church was aside a spot where they deliver methadone to people. They were so well acquainted the church would have gatherings, cook something like soup or something and, invite the people for church events and to sit in on preaches and speeches,many went to the church as patrons, believers. But yeah, they opened every morning super early and gave out free coffee and maybe some people chit chatted or somebody did a little morning prayer. Seemed nice to me. Anyway, bro walked like 2 to 3 miles a day. The lady said it was 2miles the narrator interviewer person said it was 1 and a half. The lady might of meant both ways, mile there mile back. Anyway 3 miles a day to get her a coffee cuz she made an offhand remark about how she used to always go down there and liked the coffee and chat with people. He'd do that, by then the bus was running and he'd hop a ride. 2 bus drivers drove him to town, like there version of downtown, and he spent all day going to every business and asking if he could do anything for them or if they were hiring. Within a month he was working a full gig. They still stay there and the family is doing great and the lady loves having the kids around, especially. This was in early 2022. I imagine they are still there.

My heart breaks too, I worked 50 years, too get what i earned and in walks all these imports and get every thing handed to them that I had to work for, if you say nothing then it must be ok with you that they steal your children's future, as well as yours.
