I like how he doesn't say he's "fixed" the Pokemon - he's merely redesigning them, including their lore, backstory, and meaning. So many people say they're "fixing", and I don't care if their "fixes" are better or worse - it's implying they think their version is better, and that the original was "broken" or "in need of fixing". You can think a Pokemon is terrible, but to say you're "fixing" them is subjective and rude. That's why Ron's videos like these are really great, whether or not his designs appeal to people.

That redesign for Aromatise looks like a fairy-type counterpart to Honchcrow.

I loved Aromatise re-design, the only thing missing for me were the claws, but the design is way cooler overall

@Jana Lybarger well... it does. Gen 1 basically started and created everything we know about the universe of Pokemon, it's the most creative gen by default. The others just have to expand upon what's already there.

I think it’s eyes are open but the pupil and iris are white and therefore blind

In defense of Sunflora, it's a Johto Pokemon, from the days when they were still kind of figure things out.

Sunflora always felt like a middle stage that never got a final form. If it ever does, I hope it's really tall like real-life sunflowers.

Just wanted to say that I absolutely love Klink and everything about it. I can see why people wouldn't like it, but when I first found one in my first BW playthrough I fell in love instantly and used it for the rest of the playthrough

I really think that should be the inspiration for it and not plague doctors and spanish dancers with big skirts

I love the new design for Aromatise! Vaguely reminds me of Persona and I just overall love the look. If that had been the actual design, Aromatise could've possibly been my 1# favorite Fairy type design wise.

I've noticed that many of my favorite YouTubers (Truegreen7, MandJTV, etc.) got introduced into Pokemon during Generation 3 and most got Pokemon Ruby, not Pokemon Sapphire!

Klinklang is one of my fav Pokemon, even design wise since I've always had a thing with gears and bolts and such when I was young, like with erector sets, but I think your design is really cute! I love the face! I think the sunflora and semipour look really cute too! I wish sunflora could be better, like how you said, I really like that Pokemon...

In my opinion, I like the simis, the cartoonishness is cute to me. Simipour reminds me of my old friend in a way, maybe it's the facial expression or hair? But your design is good too. I love how you made Aromatisse! She still looks like a flamingo and flamenco dancer, but has better proportions and also brings to mind a plague doctor.

I actually have a fondness for spritzee, I used one on my first playthrough of pokemon X version, and didn't evolve it because I didn't know I needed to trade it with an item for it to evolve. It still put in work with moonblast so it still was a strong member of my team.

The Klink Klink design is my favourite of them all. It look convincing, unique, and endearing.

I personally liked the aromatisse redesign, but thought it looked more like aromatisse’s evolution

I like how he redesigned Aromatisse’s as well. However, it needs more shades of the color. I feel like it should be a little more sparkly. There’s still something missing to it like it’s not a complete design. Additionally, changing Aromatisse’s design officially is a big change. If anything, the new design should be a Mega Evolution of Aromatisse rather than changing its final evolution completely.

I think it would actually make for a good branched evolution for Spritzee.

I really like the design but I think the final art looked very flat, it lacked shading and highlights on the body/torso, it looked better before he colored and shaded it. I don't think it looked like Aromatisse's evolution though.

I absolutely love that Klinklang redesign!!! It’s extremely endearing. I like your Aromatisse too, but honestly, I think the original Aromatisse is not as bad a design as people say. Its origins are pretty clear in its design and I mostly see people complain about how its supposed to be a “sexy” can-can dancer. It’s not one of my favorites for sure but it really does get unfairly judged

I fully agree. I love the regular Aromatisse. It's absolutely beyond me why people act like it's the ugliest pokemon ever. It isn't. It's awesome. His redesign looks good, but not better than the regular Aromatisse imo.

I'm not a huge fan of the original design (and now that I've noticed it has humanoid like arms, I like it less), but honestly that's probably because Spritzee is all cute and I thought it'd be tall and pink like the bird it's based on. So expectations are to blame :P

While no where near my favorite Pokemon, I like how the original Simipour looks; it reminds me of my best friend! I got a shiny one in my first 'White' playthrough, and named it after my friend, but the name was in reverse as he would more likely start fires than put them out. Simipour's hair reminds me of his hair in high school and the dress reminds me of a jester's costume, which my friend wore a couple times. I love the fact you said the hair looked like a wig, as my friend goes with a shaved head look nowadays. Awesome video! Love the gear creature!

i feel like the KlinKlang evo' you designed could be a split evo. the one we got focuses on defense, whereas the one you made focuses on speed and intelligence. now it's less like Metagross, and more it's own thing. the rest were also great but now Aromatise looks like the awkward middle evo to your design. which is so perfect.

I love the Simipour redesign, maybe they went more cartoony to avoid another Jynx fiasco? Sunflora suffers from that too, ignoring the iconic brown centre of a sunflower makes me think they were still cautious about skin colours and possibly offending in the same way. I think you did the theme justice but didn't stray into problematic territory. Slurpuff as more of a dog is so cute! As for Aromatisse, I think it has the same problem as Simipour, in my opinion it seems to be based more closely on can-can girls (poofy skirt, dancing, masquerade elements, feather headpiece, less emphasis on arm/hands in design), plague doctors and Charles Le Brun's physiognomic heads, especially the parrot one. I think it too suffers from a concept made childish, the can-can is obviously a bawdy dance and that inspiration was probably softened to the point where it just becomes an overgrown bird furby. I'd really look forward to another one of these!

After seeing ur version of kling-klang I feel like klang’s designs could be the parts detached cuz klink is a totally different design so it would be like a normal gear, breaking, and becoming something abstract

swirlix and spritzee were two of my favorite designs in gen 6. then they disappointed me by evolving into 2 of the worst designs in gen 6.

the kling klang and the last one were really good. the rest were honestly just too similar. Sunflora, for example, just looks like a regular sunflora, just with a darker type of sunflower. Also, id recommend you slap some more pose to your characters. The last one looked really cool, but i feel like you couldve made it arch more and make it a bit more curvy, to get the impression that she was really in the middle of a cool dance pose or something.

The Slurpuff one looks more like an final evolution and the Aromatisse one looks so amazing! I love it! I really like the concept and execution of this video a lot. Great job Truegreen7! Your drawings are really top notch!
