Paula and I went to Vietnam together as part of ABA ROLI, and I learned what a force of nature she is for good, not just for herself or family and friends, but for everyone in this world. I am so very glad she lived and very sad that she passed too soon. I will miss her deeply. But I will never lose the gifts she has given me of being part of her life, even so briefly.

On behalf of Justice Mary Fairhurst: What a wonderful ceremony remembering a beautiful person who will remain in our hearts and memories. She was a bright star who made the world a better place by being in it and being passionate about the people and endeavors she cared about. I will miss her very much but know that she is close in spirit and always there for us. Fly in joy Paula. XO

I have not seen Paula since her college days when she was a roommate of my daughter, Carla. She truly was an extraordinary example of a life well lived and one who will never be forgotten by those whose lives she touched.

Thank you for sharing this tribute to Paula with us. She was a very special person who made a difference in the legal profession that few realize. She saw how the world of providing legal services is and will continue to change. Her dedication to making it better is an example we all hope will continue through her example. How I miss her friendly greeting every time I saw her. She always made me and all she came in contact with, feel loved by her.

One of my favorite memories of Paula is that I've never met anyone who was as insistent and unapologetic as Paula about giving her friends the biggest hugs in the world. She was always my champion and I treasured our friendship. A couple years ago I had a chance to write a profile of Paula's career, please enjoy it at https://www.kcba.org/For-Lawyers/Bar-Bulletin/PostId/435/profile-paula-littlewood-passion-play-a-perfect-set-up. Warmest Regards, Andy Prazuch.

What a legacy. Not just her accomplishments, but her character and kindness. Our third year of law school, some of us took a class "Street Law," teaching law to high school kids. Paula got paired up with me, seven years her junior, few interests in common, a Christian frat boy straight out of undergrad. Yet she treated me like a peer, teaching with her was an amazing experience, and we became friends. I never heard her utter a bad word about anyone. What a fundamentally decent human being. I can't think of someone better to emulate in how she treated everyone with respect.

Missing my friend so much. We met when I was the Director of the King County Bar Foundation and Paula was at UW Law School and we served on a committee together. We soon learned we had adjacent birthdays. We tried to celebrate together each year pausing when I was in SF and she was in Telluride and picked up where we left off. We shared personal and professional experiences as EDs, bar execs, fundraisers, moms of kids the same age, with relationship ups and downs and ups again, and even same pregnancy complication. She was so much fun! And so smart. I loved chatting and eating with her and so appreciated her wisdom and perspective. So many of her words over the years still resonate in my head today. When I told her my partner and I met on December 4 she had a big smile and said “You met on Steve’s birthday!” She lit up like that whenever she talked about Parker, Sophie or Steve. She had a brightness about her that sparkled in her blue eyes. When she told me about her diagnosis she was insistent only wanting positive thoughts and vibes. Sorry I didn’t get to share with her that I had covid eloped before she left us, as she had cheered me on in this relationship for eight years. I miss seeing those blue eyes and her awesome laugh. My sincerest condolences to Parker, Sophie, Steve and all of her family. With love, Jennifer N. Brown

Thank you to all who put this tribute to Paula together. I worked with Paula on many of her efforts to improve access to justice. I admired and was inspired by her passion, by her sense of urgency, and by her commitment to improving the justice system for people who can't afford a lawyer.
