Hmm huge Freddie Mercury fan and I can't get you to listen to the 1 guy who is still alive who sings like him and no its not Marc Martel (thats an impersonation) Listen to the isolated vocals from any MUSE song. 'Explorers' is a good one, tell me that isn't the exact same trajectory Freddie used to write the Bohemian Rhapsody and is even vocally perform similarly. Even crescendos and de-cresendos like it with the final vocals being very similar to that, the second lines melody is sang and the exact same chord as "Don't stop me now" denoting Matt heard the same melodic flow Freddie did when he heard that chord played. Why is the parallel there because Matt Bellamy has always said he was mostly influenced by Opera, Freddie, Classical (Chopin, Bach etc) and the Beatles. Even if not listening to the isolated vocals you can still hear it. He also sing s beautifully. MUSE is a band not many people catch on to, their fan base isn't as large as others despite the band being around since 1993, thats since the 90's this man has been singing this way so he is very very professional. Why their music is hard to start liking on first listen, he sings like an opera singer over rock too, it throws people off at first do to the melodic flow being greater. If you like unique and creative music and are a fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury then yeah you are gonna like them too. If you want something to review that will spark interest and be something you will enjoy hearing then it is them. Plus the intelligence of the lyrics is highly thought provoking, again listen to what Explorers is actually saying, listen to the plight in his voice, the desperation that he conveys, the frustration, the sadness, the sorrow and the feeling of watching it all being powerless to stop anything. Also it refers to "Fuse Helium-3, our last hope, yeah fusing helium-3 is how you would create a break even nuclear reactor, doing so would mean electricity with power consumption would drop and likely global warming would be a thing, but we build rockets, missiles and do stupid thing with our resources when we could be working on something like that. So very intelligent lyrics. But OK we are all Freddie Mercury fans ignoring his number 1 fan who actually became successful and produces quality music and I have suggested them several times for an interesting review. Thought an opera singer would appreciate another opera singer who is doing what only 2 other opera singers ever did. Freddie and Meatloaf.

Brendon's voice has always been so amazingly clear. He has to have great enunciation since most of the vocabulary in his lyrics is so complex. He writes paragraphs of lyrics that are spoken so clearly, it's probably my favorite part about this band.

I cannot express how excited I was to see you reacting to this when it popped up on my feed! And the fact that you’ve never reviewed Brendon’s vocals?? A tragedy truly. He’s one of my favorite artists both because of his INCREDIBLE vocal talent and because of how creative Panic! is with their lyrics and musical choices. Death of a Batchelor is one of their classics, but some of my favorites are actually Say Amen, Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time, and Roaring 20s.

Panic! at the Disco is a band that I've really come to enjoy over the last several years. Brendon Urie is such a... fascinating vocalist. The overwhelming energy I get from him is an almost... "hangover of the California dream" vibe. Like, the point where all of the glitz and glamour has spun out and started to fade, and you're starting to see kind of the dark underside of it. It's odd, and may not seem appealing, but it is something that I actually really enjoy. One of his fascinating sets of songs is a trilogy of sorts are the songs Say Amen (Saturday Night), This is Gospel, and The Emperor's New Clothes, which were written in 2018, 2013, and 2016 respectively. Their music videos actually tell a coherent story across the three of them, and it's just fascinating to see the attention to detail that literally spans about five years. Honestly, The Emperor's New Clothes is one of my favorite songs of his. And yes, at this point, it is "his." He may not be the only original member of the band, but as other members of the original Panic! have moved on from the group, he's fundamentally become the only true permanent member of the group. Yes, he has musicians that perform with him, but these days, Panic! is The Brendon Urie show. You won't go wrong by exploring through any number of his other songs/videos. Just be prepared that some of them contain... intense imagery. I'm looking at you, LA Devotee. Heck, even Say Amen, as spectacular as it is.

Dying in LA is my favourite Panic at the Disco song. He does so many interesting vocal movements and the way he sings it is just beautiful. I also have to say I am more impressed by someone who can make Bohemian Rhapsody their own than someone who tries to make it sound exactly like Freddie. Dream on!!!!! His cover of Dream On was insane. especially since he had like NO time to rehearse. Last minute was asked to preform it when Steven Tyler couldn't make it. Only like 2.5 minutes long but think you'd enjoy it. But really anything that he preforms live is AMAZING

Ooh I wasn't expecting this one. Brendon Urie has such a great voice. I personally love their performances at BBC Live Lounge with Starboy and IDGAF being two of my favorites. If you want to see another insane performance you should check out Adam Levine's cover of Purple Rain.

The "nothing really matters" at the end where he hovers totally reminds me of "Oh, Is There Not One Maiden Breast" from Pirates of Penzance. I grew up on the operetta and I loved it.

Brendan has AMAZING range and control. Into the Unknown has a ton of higher range, and Death of a Bachelor really shows his full range and has an "older" vibe to it.

Literally the only other person that can do this song justice, such an amazing singer and a great guy

I love how she introduces these modern rock, metal, and pop songs as if she's the radio host introducing the Boston Philharmonic's rendition of Chopin's Preludes opus 28 number 7 in A major...

Can't wait for this one. Also Brandon's cover of Into the Unknown off of Frozen 2 is quite incredible.

@Leonardo Ribeiro de Lima yes I do believe that is true. I believe he recorded it for frozen 2.

It is not a cover, its actually recorded by him

It was the official commercial version of the song so I don’t know if that counts as a “cover”.

Could I please make a song suggestion: Yannis Papadopoulos - Ghost Love Score (Nightwish Vocal Cover). I know that you have done the original with Floor and I think it would be a lovely comparison!!! Hope you find it interesting enough!

I’m so happy you finally got to panic and Brendan Urie. As others have said, his version of Into the Unknown from Frozen is truly amazing. And Death of a Bachelor as well.

Your honest excitement makes it soooo much fun to watch. It's fells like experiencing it together like there's someone having just as much or more fun. In digital times a great feeling :)

Urie's tenor voice is extensive; his vocal range spans four octaves (from D2 to C7)

Such a joyful reaction, Elizabeth! Every day that has a new Charismatic Voice reaction is ipso facto more fun. FWIW, the highest "Galileo!"s and "for me!" were sung by Roger Taylor in the original recording. I don't know if this was because Freddy couldn't sing that high or because Freddy wanted his own line to be something a little easier to sing live, or if it was for a reason that I haven't thought of . . .

I watch this video like anytime I am doubting a jump from notes or just struggling with a tune mentally...Brendon's voice is on another level and he always has so much fun when he sings! Thank you for covering one of my favorite covers of all time!

You seem even more excited than I was the first time I heard this version (and geez I was excited). I'd love to see you analyse the song Ragnarok by Periphery which has screaming and clear mind blowing parts or Strawberry's Wake by Dance Gavin Dance, which also has scream and clear (but from two different singers). I think you would also love the videoclip of this one !

Your reactions and analysis are excellent and delightful to watch. This is the first time I have heard this version of Bohemian Rhapsody and was pleasantly surprised. Out of curiosity, have you done any reactions to Montserrat Caballe?

I second "Emperor's New Clothes". I'm an old man, and I love Panic.. He is amazing. The chorus gives me goosebumps. My go-to running playlist... The live versions are tuned down a bit, I think- so the album version is my favorite- but he is still great live.

I am so happy as to where Brendon has developed his voice techniques over the years. During the early days of his career, during LIVE performances, Brendon would often get vocally fatigued on stage and get pitchy. Look at him go now!

Really glad to see Brendon on your channel!! He was actually extremely ill during this show (something like a 102 degree fever). He struggled a lot with illness on this entire tour and actually started using this low larynx placement because he found it easier to sing this way while sick. You won't hear this style much outside of the live album/DVD. I hope you'll check out more from Brendon/Panic! I really recommend the "Say Amen" performance from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He's truly a brilliant performer.
