Keep in mind that this is Year 1 and Lincoln Riley has the Trojans competing for the Playoffs. Yes he brought Caleb Williams, Jordan Addison, and a multitude of talented guys with him. But taking over a roster that was 4-8 a year prior and meshing that roster with 19+ transfers is extremely challenging. To do it in just one off season is remarkable and recruits are going to take notice. Much Respect to the entire USC football team.

He has so much confidence in himself and his teammates, so when your Quarterback shows that to his team, they believe in themselves even more. I’m so happy for USC man. The Trojans have been good in spurts throughout the past decade, but haven’t been able to put it together consistently. Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams have been the missing pieces that USC has needed.

We lost nine consecutive bowl games (1994-2006 or some such) cuz we kept being invited to hi-paying bowl games (as if ND doesn't already have enough $ running through it) we had no business playing in. We sell out our allotment of tickets & then some. We spend a lot of money in our host cities. We don't destroy property in our host cities (as a team from E. Lansing, MI has done several times, not mentioning any names LOL). & there's the extra added bonus of our "Haters" tuning in to watch us lose, adding to the TV ratings. Being 8-4 instead of 9-3 increases the probability of our playing a team we can actually beat. I have seen predictions that we will play either South Carolina or Kentucky. IMO, it would be nice to play a team we've never played, or at least one we haven't played in decades. Looking forward to finding out. GO IRISH!!!

@John Massingale That ND game was an obvious Heisman showcase for our QB, but in our win @ Oregon St, he was almost a non-factor, and our defense (surprisingly) actually stepped up that time and won it. We lead the nation in both overall turnovers and interceptions... without this we'd have more losses and nationally our QB would be ignored. So despite him being our MVP, it's silly to pretend like he's a one-man show. Even w/ ND, our RB rushed for 150 yards and our run defense shut down ND's RBs, forcing them to pass.

@Jim Fab He definitely is. The defense made Drew Pyne - the worst ND QB I can think of look amazing. Drew Pyne accounted for more yards than Caleb Williams. None of his receivers were getting open until the play was broken and he was scrambling. ND also had a starting safety out and both corners were TRUE FRESHMAN. Caleb Williams had to be heroic to beat the worst ND team since 2016. The team is not that good, he makes them better than they are - which is why he should be Heisman. If you switch QB's in that game ND wins 52-14.

I have so many comments about the improbabilities of this game. I really needed to question whether or not Caleb Williams was the protagonist of “The Get Down” on Netflix. I also had to question how Michael Mayer was able to get off of the line of scrimmage and into open coverage amongst a squad of defensive backs who most-likely could run sub-4.5 second 40-yard-dash times at (5:35). This guy looks like he should be catching blocks from a center. Audric Estime also is a shockingly athletic running back for his size and body type. He looks like a Space Force cadet running down the sideline at (6:43). Sometimes, these are the interesting things that make football fun — including the comical amount of preparedness of the Notre Dame defense at (1:30) and the referee at (9:15) being in the worst possible position, in the event of that particular interception. He couldn’t even seem to make the right call in regard to his own safety. I appreciate the sharing of these plays and the opportunity to comment upon them. Darian

You'll always get it from other teams fan's like me and others who have seen the struggle and felt the highs of ppl saying "if you beat this team or if you beat that team then you can call yourself legit" We have beat teams like Clemson and other though teams and then barely won against other teams we should have shut out.
