I can’t even describe how beautiful & meaningful this song truly is to me already. Ik it’s only been 2 days but it has such an emotional effect on me that I find rather bittersweet. It somehow connects to & embodies my oldest brother’s presence who recently passed in June 2022. Melanie also released it exactly 9 months since his death date, 06/17/22. Which is literally a whole pregnancy. This makes me feel as if he’s here with me & is speaking to me through Melanie’s music, especially this song. My brother Miko was also a fellow Crybaby & was in love with Melanie Martinez & her work as I am myself. May his spirit forever flourish.

Been listening to the perils of Crybaby since I was 14 (I’m 22 now). Don’t think I’ve ever cried this hard over the loss of a character, this song captures the grieving of Crybaby and the joy of her rebirth. Even though I’m heartbroken I’m overjoyed, it’s such a beautiful complexity of emotions. Crybaby eased the pain of my youth, and she will continue to in the next life. Truly a phenomenal song and I cannot wait to hear the album in its entirety! 🫶🫶🫶💗💗💗

I think the themes of CryBaby were based on both reality and fiction. Soap, crybaby, Carousel, sippy cup, pitty party, dollhouse. All different productions n themes but still staying. True with crybaby. Then K12 was taking the mental health n some real shit. Orange Juice, Show and Tell, Teachers Pet, Strawberry Shortcake, Lunchbox Friends. And the way it ended left for something more. Cuz Melanie never sticks with the same; so her killing off CryBaby and or supposedly rebirthing could mean Melanie is killing off CryBaby as a character as she is looking ahead. Cuz this song is quite more atmospheric, melodic, dark wave. So I could see Melanie doing something different with this album while still staying true to her style but maybe like adding different elements?

I'm absolutely in love😭💖As much as I love her pop sound, this heavier alternative sound draws me in so much more. So gorgeous, I can't wait for this album! I love the magical alien faerie vibes. Weird girlies unite 💞

Been her fan since 2015 and she's one of the few artists I still get excited about and check all the new music. Loving the new era and I've got goosebumps

This song is such a masterpiece, I find myself humming to it all day. Really excited for what she will bring to us in this upcoming album.

As a writer, I appreciate how Mel designs all her songs around the character, Crybaby. This whole experience has been one huge story. With that said, I think it’s interesting and important to note that Mel released a short promo video showing Crybaby’s grave and released this song before her album drops on the 31. Crybaby has clearly died, opening up a whole new adventure in the storyline. Freaking genius!!!❤
