taking a look back to the fantastic run Medevedev had in the second part of the season, i find funny that the only players that were able to beat him on hard court have been Nadal and Kyrgios.

You might not know but russian surnames has some references. In fact russian "zver" is english "beast" plus typical russian ending "ev" and the same story with "medved" which translates like "bear" or "honey eater". So there are 2 animals at the court.

Medvedev is really putting everyone else outside the top 3 to shame. While everyone else is losing to the likes of Fabbiano at the slams, Medvedev is winning everything he plays. He reminds me of the most lethal combination of Kafelnikov and Davydenko. I do have to say though that his forehand motion seems a bit strange to me. It's like he's only doing half of a swing and I don't think it gives him the full power that he could unleash.

I love the fact that he doesn't celebrate after a big win. Shows that he's serious and doesn't let emotions overcrowd his skill and focus on the court. I love that about him. He just comes out here to play the best he can, keep to himself, and win. Great attitude.

Medvedev is in the best conditions, conditions that young tennis players like him are inheriting, the great legacy of their teachers are now overcoming them. and there are more young tennis players than having excellent arguments, boys and girls who make merits to enter the academy are doing it, I think that medicine for a comment by Jhon McKenroe said that sometimes there are tennis players who do everything possible to make tennis boring ... well these are not the future but the present that we were all waiting for The group that is in my network of tennis players and practically very lethal for the experience that seems to be threatened every tournament.

Medvedev will be number 1 before too long. Maybe even next year. He has that smoothness and easy game most number 1s have. And it looks like he also has the consistency. Also, his game style is very simple and efficient. Great serve with no frill service motion. No bouncing balls 20 times. No pickass rituals And no celebration even after winning the tournament. That's a nice change from all the vamos, fist pump , facial contortion, etc...

Well.. The first time ever someone is consistently tactically beating top ten players with ease only seen before when djokovic broke into the scenes 10 yrs ago. In other words... A serious contender to be at par with 3 giants of tennis. Currently the best among upcoming players in terms of mental strength, a close second is Thiem. A lesson for tsitsipas.... How to chanalize extraordinary talent with mental strength and also to keep his focus and humbleness intact!

This man's game is so consistent and clean. Over the course of this year, his forehand has been improved significantly and no longer is the weak shot in his arsenal. Medvedev gives the same vile as the peak Djokovic: Flawless aka Unbeatable. He still needs to improve a little bit in his volleys and approach shots. During these recent two weeks, I saw he lost some points at the net when he was at the advantage due to some weak volleys. Well, Nole is not very good volley but still is no. 1 though.

Players starting to fear him - NextGEN players to say the least! Tsitsipas 2 UFEs at 6-6 [5-5] in SF and now Zverev 2 DFs at 4-5 30-30 in F. There's no reasoning why Tsitsipas should drop his level suddenly in SF, it just wasn't on the cards going by how well he had been playing through that 1st set and he blinked!

He came so close to beating Nadal in the USO final but lost in the end. A lot of players would get demoralised and slump after a lost final but it didn't seem to affect him at all. He kept up his level and continues to win. That's some serious psychological strength. Future hegemonic potential there.

Medvedev hits some of his groundstrokes a bit shallow and as a result he can be attacked. However, he passes extremely well and runs balls down, not common at all for such a tall, rangy player. He's also consistent either when attacking or when defending.

A very tall matchup, both standing 6'6. Unfortunately, Zverev didn't bring any intensity or something extra against the tour's most in-form player. Before this match, Zverev was 4-0 against Medvedev, not the best time to lose his first matchup.

Great games, great champions, new kid on the block etc., will always happen every now and then. To become great, isn't about beating opponents on the court but beating injuries and bouncing back. A single injury lay off could end his confidence and winning. Sports is 70% confidence level if you got the skills to win you've got 30% I like Medvedev!

Medvedev’s baseline strategy focused on trading backhands through the Ad court with Zverev until an opportunity presented itself to attack Zverev out wide in the Deuce court, forcing a forehand error on the run. So just look at the first games of the first set , to give u an example He won 12 of the first 15 points and 9 of them were zverev forehand errors . Now add how dominant he was on serve plus how well he returned he dominated zverev in all aspects and battered him in the short rally length points and played nice and agressive tennis and forced zverev behind the baseline.
