Hey, anyone from the early days following Manson (teenagers in the 90's) what you make of this situation? For me this album and the next two are important albums. This alleged torturing stuff is pretty concerning. I have always seen Manson as being, ironically, on the moral high ground with his music. I think golden age was a good metal album, but after that I just thought he gave up trying, so that's when all this alleged (probably true) stuff went down. So, are these albums affected in your minds? I mean, we are all adults with kids, jobs, responsibilities now. (only people from the early days who lived through that time please). I listen to GG Allin on occasion, but he was an animal, a monster, not a real member of society, so I don't feel any guilt there. I listen to GNR, again, extreme abuse; but Axl was pretty legit psychotic; thought these women were witches from past lives and stuff, so he's kinda innocent by means of insanity. This is a different thing though. deriving pleasure from tormenting young women. hmmm.

@NightFox interestingly, recently Manson said that antichrist superstar was not so much about religion and politics, but about expressing that art is above those topics. That's a great message, and I agree. But if these allegations are true, is the art of the artists above there own actions, if those actions are a type of prolonged mental and physical torture against people who feel defenseless and afraid? Personally, my guess, just a guess, is that Manson's idea of what relationships are, what they are meant to be, is very different from my own views on relationships. And obviously the views of these women. I'm rambling on, but only because it's a total bummer, the whole thing.

I think he knew the response that he was going to get to a large extent, he's a very fucking intelligent man, but he probably wasn't expected being blamed for mass shootings. Imagine being burdened with that. Even losing "friends" because they believe it too. I personally hope that this stuff is a big misunderstanding. My question was more, if it is true, and he does enjoy really tormenting and physically harming women in relationships with him, were does that leave the fans? you don't believe the women because of past events, that's fair enough. To be honest, I actually do believe them. In time perhaps a more nuanced explanation will come to light that exonerates Manson. I hope it does.
