The gym used to be my home. I as of late turned drugs into my home. This song has gotten me back into the gym the past few weeks and I feel the same emotional connection to it. This song is a huge part of saving my life.

I watched my wife take her last breath as the life left her on January 1 of this year. It was a 21 day battle with cancer she couldn't win. I've listened to this song at least a hundred times since that moment. I've found my own meaning and comfort in it. Thank you.

As a man who has only in the last year finally healed from an agonising childhood. One of my greatest struggles is the fight to keep my children free of the trauma and agony. This song feels like an acknowledgment of the pain a parent feels in their efforts to protect their children from the darkness we can bring into their world. It brings me to tears every time.

This song shakes me too my core. I’ve never heard a song that so perfectly encapsulated my emotions after a certain event and time period in my life. I had truly lost my shape and what felt like my reason for living and my destiny. Yet over a few years that grief and sadness turned into determination to change (I will rise up for you.) I dedicated myself to becoming the man I had failed to be. 10 years later I discovered this song and it brings all those emotions back but now there is some sense of accomplishment within that sadness because I escaped that darkness that was amplified in the silence.

Since i found this song I'm listening it over and over and over again. I can't really express my emotions anymore or even speak about them, maybe i never could or just lost the ability along the way. This song does it for me. I have found very few songs that could express the exact feeling i had and couldnt show anyone. Reading the comments there are people with far worse things to live with and far worse pain to endure than I do. I just love someone for years now who doesnt love me anymore or maybe never loved me at all. I wanted to give her all of me but she had her own problems (mental issues) and could only see those and never me. She said she loved me, maybe she did maybe not. Still I'm here 3 years after still frozen in time still unable to enjoy anything in life and unable to progress with my life. I take words very seriously but i also know they can be manipulated so easily so i dont really say anything important in words this song speaks for me instead.

I love the emotions and memories this song evokes for me. Ive had problems hearing lyrics for yrs, so I make up my own. My hearing has degraded to the point where the singer is just another instrument in the band. -SO- this song brings to mind walking to work in the early morning when the birds and people are just waking up. Feeling a sense of anticipation. I may not hear everything but Im grateful I can still hear the music (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

I guess I have an answer to the question of What is your favourite song? anymore. (After 31 years) You know there are many good pieces, and it is difficult to choose one, but this makes me feel all the opposite feelings at the same time: blues, weakness, rebellion, a strange peace, power, loss, honour ... I normally don't like loud music like rock, electro, metal etc but this takes me in slowly. I understand that these lyrics can't be sung without shouting.

One of most amazing songs that helped when I was really at a time I was at serious struggle for words to convey my total mindset and feelings to help me through a painful, eye opening situation and a learning and growing time and it hit the nail on the head as they say! I can never tell you how much I love this song. Something about this song makes me want to cry but also grateful that this song exists. It is so powerful and meaningful to me. Music has always been extremely important to me but this one, it does something to my feelings. This one is something else.

I cannot begin to tell you what this album (and this song in particular) means to me. I’m a grown woman with children... when I first heard this song, it reminded me of our own journey into parenthood. The tiny moments of seeing the baby on the ultrasound, the big moments of anxiety, the constant questioning, especially by my husband, like did they get the best parts of us or the worst? Are we doing everything right? I was heavy into listening to this album on repeat when one of my best friends, whom I was in a crib with when we were newborn babies 37 years ago, was losing her life to cancer this past summer. This song turned from reminding me of my emotions associated with my own children to experiencing immense empathy for her mother as she lost her only daughter, and I cried for entirely different reasons as I experienced it in a whole new way. I actually listened to it on the way to say goodbye to her while she was still lucid and knew she had only days left. I also think about my own dad, whom I lost 20 years ago, and how he must have felt leaving this world with his wife and children behind. One of the last things he said to me was, “Who is going to take care of you?” before he went to the hospital and never came home again. I’m sure none of the band members will ever read this, but if you do, I want you to know how much your music means to me. It hits so many raw nerves at the same time for different reasons and I am grateful it takes me to all those different spaces of reflection every time I listen to it. Thank you. ❤️

I'm a sound man and a musician. Tonight my dad, who have 50 years of experience as a sound engineer, ruined my gig. He wanted to the best job possible. He wanted to help me for a technical problem. And I realized - after finally facing the overwhelming evidence - that he was actually starting to become deaf. My dad could hear the water down from the basement and tell something was wrong with it just by sound. My dad could hear the tiniest overtone of the lowest sound I never was aware of on a song I listened to hundreds of times. My dad could tell the slightest syncopated hiccup from the rhythm section that didn't feel just right - sometimes not even 1 bpm of difference. Every night I work, the artists always love the job I do. I owe everything to my dad. He told me everything about the craft of sound. He is still one of the best sound guy I know for recording because he feels the vibrations so well. But tonight I realized that my dad, my ultimate sound hero, with 45 years of a brilliant career spawning France and America, is just a reflection of what he used to be. He might end up living in silence. And tonight I opened my computer and this video was hanging there I don't where it came from. And I just started crying, and crying, and crying. Sometimes life sucks, but music is always here to heal. This reminded me why I do what I do.

I found this song by accident, and it's times like this that I love accidents! This is an absolute classic song, sung with a classic voice; the voice of a bloke-angel. I'm glad for other artists that this isn't heard on mainstream, because if it was, it'd push them all out the way and hog the No. 1 spot for all eternity.
