As a Chelsea fan, Man City was really impressive. No KDB, No Grealish, No Foden…. No problem. They still won comfortably vs one of the top clubs in Europe.. Both Chelsea and City have ridiculously deep squads, add Liverpool and what a title race the EPL/UCL is going to be!! Get your 🍿 ready!!

@TPSposts You're the one that claimed that City doesn't need a easy bracket to win that it was laughable remember? I don't see City unless its UCL and from I've noticed they miss to many chances where maybe a good striker wouldn't there's q reason why Pep was urging a striker in the beginning of the season because he knew that they needed one its comun sense...Modern football huh? You must be one of those that agreed with the idea of a super league smh what they need is a salary cap and not this financial fairplay bs that doesn't even work and City is the perfect example where they were banned from UCL just to be reinstated down the line so basically if you have money corruption is ok right? This according to your modern terminology of the game smh yet I sound dumb you poor fool smh lmao

Watching from the side of PSG, it was just brutal. Everyone seemed confused. 1. On offense, they seem like they're committing to different contradictory game plans, but ending up achieving neither. PSG tried to build up from the touchline through Man City's press, but the midfielders don't come back to help with the buildup, and they don't pass quickly enough to make this style work. But when we DO clear the ball and play long, we don't crowd the midfield enough, which results in us giving away possession cheaply. 2. We need more offensive resources besides counterattacks. There were stretches where we had possession of the ball, but we just couldn't do anything about it for several minutes. We need more crosses from wingers, runs in behind on the defense. 3. On defense, there was not much to say. We don't press the ball enough. And Man City's overlapping runs on the wings are on point. All I can say is I hope Ramos recovers soon.
Vor 7 Monate
Joseph Smith
@Michael Lubin The problem is that both messi and neymar both drift centrally in the final third. This was perfectly fine in the MSN era because suarez was a striker who could be a target man or a poacher and also had the discipline to drift wide (to the far post and even to the wing) to create an outlet or drag defenders from congested areas of the pitch. Unfortunately Mbappe is not that player and will never suit the needs of both messi and neymar simultaneously. He also struggles with tiki taka and the 1 touch nature ingrained in the other two. Mbappe is a great player and the top scorer for the team (at the time of my comment), but he is not going to greatly enhance messi and neymar.

@Renton Tarry nah Sterling is sexy as hell. He just truly tends to play like an idiot when we need him. It seems like his head is out of the game which is okay, it happens to every player, but damn when Sterling isn’t fully there it’s a huge liability. I will say that his form is improving and I’d like for him to continue on this path more than anything. He’s too important of a player for city for his form to be off more times than not.

Difference between Pep and Poch: - Ped clearly prepared this game. Zichenko starting clearly showed his fear of PSG offense. - After conceding, he realized he didn’t have a choice anymore and went all in by taking off Zichenko, dropping Bernardo for creation, and putting Jesus No.9 to disturb Marqui and Kimpembe as much as possible. - this left Mahrez with more space than he already had. But Pep capitalized even more by making Walker make runs too, bringing the outnumbering he needed. On the other hand, Poch did absolutely nothing to help his game plan: -he got absolutely outplayed the whole game. - his offensive trio was NOT pressing man city players, making it so much harder for everyone else. That’s why by the 60th minute, psg midfield was so tired they could barely keep up anymore. - after taking Herrera, Nuno and Gana out, he should have gone with 3 in the back. And then put Mbappe on the left flank, allowing him to really hurt Manchester on left flank and make runs, while still dropping back to help the defense. And Hakimi could have remained on the right flank and do what he does best. - then Danilo and Paredes could have done their best as defensive/central midfielders. - Finally, messi, neymar, and Di Maria could have done something together, especially with Mbappe and Hakimi also pushing forward. Manchester gave them a tactical lesson today. That’s all there is to it. PSG can never make it by playing like this against top dogs like Bayern or Chelsea.
Vor 7 Monate

If people think Messi passed the ball to Mbappe then its an illusion. Messi's pass was meant for Neymar, the ball fell fortuitously to Mbappe and he nailed it. Looking at the celebration from Mbappe, there are two camps in this team, a camp of 9 vs 2.

If psg had a good coach like pep or xavi to establish good team culture and discipline they would win everything. Their problem is that even though they have the best players in the world they lack chemistry and have too many individuals. Pochettinho isn’t cut out for this type of squad. A good coach wouldn’t allow their front three to just walk around like that.

Vor 7 MonateJesse Pressler
I believe Man City are the deeper roster, but are also more vulnerable to another PL foe or a Bayern team with the world's best pure goalscorer. PSG are not as good, but have few draws where they can get upset.
Vor 7 MonateRicardo Carvalho
@TPSposts All the clubs you mention are privately own except Bayern and during this pandemic only clubs with money have kept themselves competitive it's easy when the money keeps flowing but City still needs a striker to become a true threat
Vor 7 MonateRicardo Carvalho
@TPSposts What's laughable is you mentioning City when I'm talking about PSG. Vor 7 MonateReid Pattis
Vor 7 MonateJoseph Smith
Vor 7 MonateMichael Lubin
Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, and... no offense besides counterattacks? This is just bizarre.

He didn't seem very effective overall, despite the tap in. I don't like his decision making relative to quality of most of his teammates.
Vor 7 MonateJoshua Garcia
@Renton Tarry nah Sterling is sexy as hell. He just truly tends to play like an idiot when we need him. It seems like his head is out of the game which is okay, it happens to every player, but damn when Sterling isn’t fully there it’s a huge liability. I will say that his form is improving and I’d like for him to continue on this path more than anything. He’s too important of a player for city for his form to be off more times than not.
Vor 7 MonateRenton Tarry
@Bobby Bobbington You people are very selective when it comes to certain players. He is still number 24 on England's all time scoring list and is only 26. I noticed you didn't mention his Premier League goals. Doesn't fit your narrative.

Vor 7 Monatedlau99
With the Manchester United speculations, I can see Poch's mind is not clear.

Even after PSG scored, you knew City were going to win or at least draw in dominant fashion

You can have all those stars, I’ll take my TEAM any day! Come on CITY!!

Amazing match!!

Gabriel Jesus needs to start more. Unfortunate how F. Torres is injured. Tired of seeing us play without a striker. The attack is so much different with a striker

Exactly bro it was too easy to defend against us as soon as gabby sub on in the striker role we give psg a lot of problems. Pep needs to play gabby upfront he’s not the best but we need someone up top . I’m getting sick of the false 9

PSG really needs a center mid to control and distribute.

Man city best tactical style, team play was superb, defense was alright in the first kicked it up a notch second half. Overall man city dominated psg lol can't win relying on speed only, no type of game plan, the will was there the chemistry wasn't psg two thumbs way down on this game. Ramos the only one who will probably put this team together

Looking at all the teams finishing top, and 2nd in their groups, city could’ve had a better chance at an easy round 16 draw if they finished 2nd, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd (favored) finishing top of their group.

Lmao 1st place teams play 2nd placed teams. City would rather be 1st I’m guessing

what a great matchup, I noticed that MBappe did a similar "so close" gesture @4:10 that I used to also do when I was playing professional football. Cheers Mbappe with a nutmeg goal and a salute

Big statement win for Man City, let’s go citizens

If people think Messi passed the ball to Mbappe then its an illusion. Messi's pass was meant for Neymar, the ball fell fortuitously to Mbappe and he nailed it. Looking at the celebration from Mbappe, there are two camps in this team, a camp of 9 vs 2.

City played a very good game. PSG needs to work on their defense.

Mbappe's knee slide😯👌🔥

Man City's back line wasn't great but the midfield fronted the ball well.
