This is still probably the most memorable Eurovision contest winner. Its not even my Finnish bias, this is just truly iconic.

As a Greek being there with my friends, it was trully iconic. We all voted for them. One of the best moments of my life.

The most memorable was the chicken lady, I think she was israeli, it was terrible but memorable because it was so bad 🤣

Agreed but Lordi's voice is nowhere near as good as his Spotify version. Understandable ofc, for some reason Eurovision likes to record/broadcast their stuff in lower quality stuff that sadly prefers certain kind of songs. But still its one inch perfect from being perfect.

I remember this night, i was 17 and was a metaller and was watching with my mom, when Lordi appeared on stage you should have seen my mom's face. She was like "wtf are these creatures?" i said her "yes this is the music and they will win" she said "no way". After the results she said "world is changing, i would tell "i cut myself if they win" before the voting, but they won somehow". I m sure this kind of conversations happened between parents and children in a lot of houses this night. Lordi forced the boomers of that time to face the reality of world.

My cousin and his parents came into my house so we could all together watch eurovision since in that time it was very big deal here. When Lordi appeared our parents were making comments how they are terrible, we were like 'yeah, yeah, so terrible' and after that we went out and were running and jumping around house for at least half an hour because of excitement that we saw something that awesome on Esc.

In our house we celebrated by listening to them again, Glad I was alive to witness our first Eurovision victory

It's been 16 years, I have watched this absolutely smashing hit hundreds of times already... and only NOW I realise that there is *a guy in a black hoodie* singing the chorus, you can barely get a few glimpses of him at the right of the stage, such as 1:24 or 1:33. My respects to the anonymous chorus guy, you also deserve some credit for making history in Eurovision

If there is one really good thing that I remember from 2006-that's it when Lordi won back then. And by the way Finland have some ingeniously good metal bands.
