My only advise for living alone is don't be afraid to call your friends when you feel lonely. My first year of college, my roommate moved out/abandoned my about two months into the first semester and I struggled pretty hard the first month, especially because I didn't know anyone that well on campus, so I didn't have anyone's room to crash in. I started calling my best friend every week and that helped a lot but it was a rough adjustment period. Don't worry, you'll get used to it eventually.

It sucks tho when you dont have a lot of friends… not everyone have that blessing. For me, I have always struggled with having friendship, and even lost some of the best ones I have had. So that makes me scared to live alone some day actually! Just wanted to point that out ☺️ but I totally agree with you on this one ofc.

I had a similar situation happen to me! I 100% agree with this comment. Calling my friends and family really helped me adjust. Definitely don’t be afraid to ask your friends to meet up with you to hang out, or to ask Ashley if you can visit or meet up with her and Chloe possibly. It definitely takes some getting used to, but you can do it!

My advice on separating dogs is lots of play dates. Just seeing each other often will help ease the anxiety. The first week or two they’ll probably look for each other but as long as they don’t completely disappear from each other’s lives they won’t be too depressed just sad.

When living alone, remember there's a difference between being alone and feeling lonely. When alone you learn this whole new side of yourself that becomes independent and you build this new level of comfort in yourself and your environment with different routines on how to do things. I felt like the first month of living alone was so stressful and scary and honestly very lonely, but then after that I loved living alone! I could come and go as I wanted and I could walk around the house in whatever I wanted😂 moving in with my boyfriend has been the best but honestly after living alone for so long, I kind of miss being on my own sometimes just because living alone really showed me who I am as a person and I figured out life on my own and it is the most humbling and amazing experience!

First of all I want to say congratulations to Ashley and you for starting a new chapter. Second of all, the best advice I can give you for living on your own, don't be afraid to call your friends and family or have them to come and sleepover once in a while, also play music, podcasts or put on the TV during the day and while you sleep, it will make you feel less lonely. It will start to feel less terrifying after a while.

Agreed as people we are social beings and it is so important to remember that. It is fine and acceptable to phone friend and admit that youbare feeling lonely. That you are struggling emotionally asking them if they are okay because that is real pure friendship. Looking out for one another not being honest means you carry that burden alone. No one should do that to themselves. I learnt the hard way I am still learning. 💙💫

This is my first year at college living alone and my biggest piece of advice is to learn to enjoy the calm. There’s nothing more relaxing than coming home to your own sanctuary after a hectic day.

This is such an exciting time for both of you!! 😊the advice I have for living alone/moving out by yourself would be allowing yourself to feel sad. I think it's a very human thing to want to just 'get over it' and not feel any sad emotions but it's very healing to express it and move forward into the new chapter. Keeping in contact with people regularly is important, I know for me that my mental health has suffered when I felt like I was annoying people or disrupting other peoples lives and just keeping to myself. My last bit of advice is do things that make you feel safe. It can be kinda creepy at first when you hear noises etc, so I like to have some background noise to fill the space.

Living alone is definitely an adjustment. I moved out by myself at 29 and it was the best decision I've ever made. Start a routine for yourself and see how it goes. I honestly love walking naked around my apartment. Haha 😂

I love living alone because I get to really know what I want to do or what I like or what I think without people around me influencing me as much (even if they mean well). It can be so healthy for your relationships. One thing I will say is make sure to remind yourself to call your friends and loved ones and check in or make sure you schedule time to hang out since you won’t spontaneously run into each other.

Not sure if you’ll see this, but the hardest part for me living alone is cooking for one and having to do all the cleaning myself. My tip is to always make enough for two so you have lunch the next day! And having a cleaning schedule for me as been super helpful 😊

When I was 29, one of my work friends told me not to spend 29 worrying about 30. It’s going to fly by so enjoy it. Your 30s is going to be amazing!

I moved out when I was 23 and have been living alone since! It’s great to have solitude and don’t ever be afraid to call people if you’re lonely! It does feel funny at first but you make it your own home and it feels so good. 💚 One thing I will say, is be careful buying food!! I always bought too much for one person in the beginning and half of it would always go bad😳

Tips for living alone: create spaces in your house for different purposes (ex. a reading nook, exercise area, crafting, etc) that you love spending time in so the house doesn't feel as big and empty. Make plans with friends during the week, not just the weekend. Take advantage of the ability of doing things that maybe you wouldn't do before with roomates due to being considerate like blasting your fav music whenever you feel like it. Get into a routine with cleaning and tidying. most importantly: enjoy your alone time and use it to get to know yourself better.

Best living alone advice that I learned after literally living with the same four roommates for four years: 1) There’s going to be the days where something bad happens and you wish there was someone there to talk to, and the good and exciting days that you wish you could come home to someone and tell them. When those times come up take them as times to learn more about yourself. My therapist told me that this is when I learn to handle emotions alone, validate myself & be self-aware. 2) You’re now in FULL control of the energy your house holds, so know when you need people over or alone time. When your home is driving you crazy and to leave. Or when it’s time to appreciate and sit in YOUR success in even being able to live in that beautiful home & room! 3) It’s easy to now leave dishes behind, clothes on the floor, leave rooms messy, etc. lol the MOMENT you even think about cleaning/tidying up JUST DO IT. If you think about it for too long your body won’t WANT to do it so you’ll either hate it when you’re doing it or just leave it. Best of luck Alisha!! So proud & happy for the both of you! For living alone something that helped me was sun light, it just makes me happy lol, but also playing music, having podcasts or YouTube videos in the background. For the dogs, I made sure to give my dog some space to get use to her new home but also show her bit more love since her sister is 7 hours away. It takes time but they will get use to it

so happy for Ash and before you know it Alisha, Ash will be coming by to visit and be back in the house a year will go by fast and I think chole will be fine if you bring her by the house often
