It's true for most modern racing in general, with a few exceptions. Equal machinery and better driver training mean less grid spread.

Thermal capacity! Got to love it! You guys are great! This is some hardcore racing. Reminds me of my days working safety and the vehicles (we raced just abut everything) going by only a few feet away.

The visual quality is getting so much better now. This is making it way better to watch gt racing.

Can anyone tell me why different teams compete in each round of either this championship or the European gt series

@Css86 It's Fanatec now but that's a minor detail. Spa 24 is part of the IGTC, although it's also part of the European GT3 Championship. I think there are four 'cups' at stake within that championship - Sprint, Endurance, Overall, and Team. Although within those categories are further subdivisions such as the 'Silver' and 'Pro-Am' trophies according to how drivers are rated. None of them are for manufacturers. There are manufacturer supported teams but any prizes accrue to those teams, not the manufacturer. Bear in mind that this is an evolving system which is constantly subject to revision as manufacturers choose to offer more or less support to the sport.

If you mean the Intercontinental GT Challenge that is a manufacturers championship where certain teams are nominated to represent Mercedes, BMW, Lamborghini etc. Other than that different sponsors have different teams although they generally prefer to have drivers used to the brand of car. Hence the likes of Stolz, Engel, Marciello and Gounon will all drive with, as well as against, each other in different championships across the globe. Last weekend's Daytona 24 is a good example where Gounon and Engel were on the same team.

@Crazylicious I think he's referring to the need to change the tracking device on 999 during their final pitstop. I don't think it decided the race. 75 would have come out on fresh tyres instead of the old ones it kept in order to gain track position. Gounon was charging during his penultimate stint and almost certainly would have caught Engel well before the end of the race. Whether he would have passed is another matter but such 'what ifs' are one reason why we enjoy endurance racing.

Depends on what you want to watch. The next race of this series are the 9 hours of Kyalami on the 25th of February. If you are interested in other endurance racing as well you can watch the Asian Le Mans Series on their YouTube channel this weekend. They will have 4 races, 2 in Dubai this weekend and 2 in Abu Dhabi next week.
