Nowadays the game is a "one-shot" simulation... I'd rather buy runes than have every game suck...

i loved the new items when they came out they felt fresh, but in retrospective they killed my main Shen which i would build bruiser and would be strong the entire game with old items but now is only a boring early game tank. Which probably lead to me uninstalling the game

These tank items seem so underwhelming, compared to items from other classes but especially considering everyone will probably get 30-40 %pen by their 3rd item, and true damage on both AP and AD items are a thing now. Seems like they lack some sort of a way to amp up all their resistances entirely like the ad mythics giving extra attack speed or the assasin mythics giving more lethality, basically core stats for these champs, or some kind of a tank deathcap. If none of this happen I think tanks may become super useless, or they just start building items from other classes instead

@Christoffer Rasmussen Your comment did not age well. Shaco currently goes stealth, 1 shots someone and then immediate stealth into q into another 1 shot. This is literally what is happening in every game rn :D

@Faseegh Marcus yeah but dota also has a consumable that lets you go invis and one that lets you see invis and a item that lets you see invis meanwhile league only has sweeper which just shows where they are but you can't attack them unless you have skillshots
There is so much new movement speed introduced to the game, every champ is gonna feel like Ekko. They are really pushing the flashy play style to the max. Don't know if I like it or not.

I'll keep editing this list as I watch the video 49:20 Knight's vow has lost its healing component from damage done by your partner, which is a pretty big nerf as in a team fight you could be losing over 400~600 healing or even more depending on how long the fight goes and how strong your partner is 54:11 Just comments, no missing item changes. The slow resistance and tenacity boosters are much more important than you realize. As a tank main, tenacity is one of our most important stats as it allows us to reposition to where we are most useful to our team despite eating the majority of the enemy's cc. This to me looks like a very powerful mythic item on champions like leona, sejuani, singed, or sion. 58:20 shurelya's always has and currently does give movespeed to allies. That is not a change. (the bonus damage is new though, not sure how I feel about it)
My main take after all this: "What is broken, can be reforged." Lets see how it plays out in pre season. At least Im hopeful atm.

"Mages have the most Mythic items". I feel this is a misnomer, they specifically stated they wanted to make a class of items bruisers that use ap would build. Its like calling the bruiser/fighter items assassin items.

Actually ... Thornmail got MUCH stronger. In the past, the "healing cut" passive only worked if the Champion gave you a hit (that is, it didn't cut mage's healing) Now you can force the "cut-cure" by giving the guy a CC. Na real... Thornmail ficou MUITO mais forte. I like this change. I’m pretty sure many of the items will get tweaking if they outshine the other items. The game rewards good CSing now with higher item prices. On top of that, there are no clear champions that I can think of that won’t appreciate the items. Last thing, the game also incentivizes people to expand their champion pool and itemize according to the game state and not rely on 6 “core” items. The only thing guaranteed for next season is that NA won’t make it past group stage. Season 11 is Season 1 of LoL 2.0.
I think the main blunder you commited while making this video was not introducing mythic items before legendary - knowing what bonus you can stack on each of the legendary items when they are introduced would make it easier to theory craft. Great insight tho and thanks.
Honestly, I really like it, I've been playing the game since season 2 and some of the old items just felt so stale. The one thing that I'm not a huge fan of is the assassin item that increases damage to shields by 300% it seems really counterproductive to a lot of support/ADC utility, additionally what is even the point of taking barrier now?
@SuperCookie Cookie i dont see anyone complaining much apart from silver redditors. The new items make the game more fresh and new. I have been playing since s3-4 and im VERY satisfied with item choices. The new items make the match more situational. For example, if the team has a lot of tanks you would go Liandrys first as a myhic item. Back then people would always throw random items together. Now, players have to make a decision based on the enemy team which is way more competitive than s10 Assassins dont lack mobility. Not only that the new items provide mobility they already have it in their kit. They can always dive a turret and come out of it alive unlike tanks who all dive and die
@Tuan Anh Dang the definition of a hyper carry is litereally tons of damage, they were made purposely with lack of mobility to compensate for their high damage output. Back then ADC meta was op even with the additon of all these things, however because of these new items providing an extra 1/2 item ability its all chaos. lot of people have been complaining about it,

Thing is People are very annoyed because of the diversification being overwhelming or ridiculous for example. A hyper carry specifically were given lack of mobility due to their damage output late game which is Purely for carrying and killing people. Then riot suddemi starts giving ADC a Item that allowed them to dash and such when it defeated the purpose of a hypercarry. Or maybe yasuo W, don't like the static wind wall? Why not make it moving and release it with Samir, something' that's just toxic in people's eyes they just make it more extreme.
Even with the new items, I get the feeling it is an unwritten law that especially ADC Mains will have to deal with a lot of oneshotting potential. I am one and I think assassins will be even scarier with their new items. Personally, I get the feeling that in almost all games with an assassin on the enemy team, you'll be kinda forced to go Shieldbow if you don't want to explode in 0.5 secs against an ahead assassin
Season 11 is a new era basically, Riot is making a new season 1 to make everything broken again

At least it will bring new life to the game. The game right now is very stale. I think if they find the right items the game will be a lot better since you can try new things. I just hope champions have several viable build, right now its one build with one or two items you can change depending on the enemy team.

Hey Exil, thanks for this video of good quality as always. Funny to hear Skyrim's music on League content, that was unexpected. A bit sad to not see any brutaliser like item back but I guess it's a good thing. So what do you think we should build on GP now ? I'm a bit confuse since all the mythic are good but as an ad caster, he won't really benefit from the bonus as on other legendary items of the trinity. Furthermore Divine Devourer brings additional damage, heal and passive armor pen... how to not say no to that ? Is it me or the tank legendary items feels good on morg supp ? One bind and the guys get lowered resistances and destroyed by the accomplice ? Why not ! and the last mythic item for supp. Does Force of Nature passive activates on self abilities like Mundo or Vlad ? Another small thing, I was a big fan of TK top during his apogee but now the Kench is benched and out of Urf mode it's not as fun to play him for me. Especially since he got nerfed more and more for the way he was used in proplays. SO IF the KEnch is back in S 11 please let us know !! ;) Thanks again, Peace out !
Healing feels so bad. I tried playing soraka with a focus on heal in items, but after seing my mates being oneshotted 100-0, I realized that I cant heal death. Tank supps and dmg is just much more effective. Some enhancers like Lulu or Janna might still be viable. Sona is still damage = nice, but just as well the heal is just dumbster.

That's a consequence of there having way too much damage and burst in the game rn. Sustained fight? That doesn't mean anything outside of lane anymore.

I like the shieldbreaker assassin item, this is coming from a Janna main. The game is more exciting when assassins are super lethal, but I like long cd assassins rather than reset cheese like the new duskblade. If ahead talon oneshots my jungler through my shield at drag, it's gonna be annoying as he hops over walls while invisible and gets 3 more kills easy.
I haven’t yet watched the full video but here is my prediction: every champion has now been given a busted build path which means it is still balanced (obviously some champs will have better synergy but still) what this means is whoever gets these early items will take over the game. Therefore I think league will turn away from scaling meta and more into an early game meta to unlock the insane scaling these items bring!!!
I feel like they're muddying the water of what a champions kit is supposed to do vs what items are supposed to do. Like prowlers blade for example, how is that an assassin mythic? Isnt it a key function of a assassin to be able to reach squishies in the backline? Then why bother make an item that functions as a gap closer, when it should be in their kit in some way already. Imo prowlers blade enables champions that arent assassins to become one and I'm not sure if thats a good thing. Aatrox for example Prowlers blade + Q3 onto a squishy or Sett dasing in ulting you and killing you.

I feel like you went a bit too quickly over the new Liandry as the ap scaling on it makes it good even into squishier comps. Also since it hasn't been specified yet I can only assume it stacks with Azakana's Gaze or whatever it's called now, making ap bruisers and siege mages way scarier.
As a ryze main all I can say when looking at these item changes is: *WHERE DID ALL THE MANA GO*

I liked the changes looking back, I feel like there's far more flexibility in builds, and I can get more creative.
I wanted to simply state first and foremost that I like most of the changes. However I feel as though the numbers for alot of the items are to high. Adding more and more damage to the game doesn't seem like a healthy direction to me atleast. Now yes I'm a tank main and I've been playing since before season 1 worlds. I've seen the rise and fall of many many metas and I dont know how I feel about this one. Specifically talking about top and mid lane assassins i would hate to see a meta where it is more viable to have bruisers and assassins rampaging around the map and dominating everyone within 20 minutes. I would rather see a clear cut skill expression between a tank and a bruiser or assassins and tanks. Im not stating that a tank should be able to be unkillable I've never enjoyed that even when maokai and shen were raid bosses back in the day I felt dirty doing that to people rushing into 5 of them killing 2 and walking out with 3/4ths HP. I do agree with you that putting an active sheild on tanks feels nice and adding in the 300% sheild break on the assassin tree gives them an avenue into fighting tanks and enchanters more effectively. Again I just don't want to see a meta where tank players only get 1 or 2 major tank Champs and the rest are Niche picks or 1 tricks. All and all this break down was well put together and I cant wait to see how tencent I mean riot balances everything. Lastly Give ornn a skin 2 years highly contested in competitive play is to long without a few skins Give him 1 Or 2 Or 3 skins please.....

As a support main, I like to play with vision or vision denial. The support changes seem pretty good in my opinion. After playing this season, I felt that solo q support didn't have as much impact as before (or I'm just bad at this game LOL). I think with these changes promote more active/aggressive play for support not just in combat, but in vision as well in the early game.
Hello! Ekko main here, when you were joking about Ekko moving at the speed of light may really be true but he will lose out on some "presence" I'll call it. You see they increased the price of protobelt by a lot and the whole point of Ekko building protobelt was so that he can have a nice advantage over his lane or jungle opponent and if your doing jungle ekko is so that you can dodge cc, extra damage, and to just get in range for your abelites. But with the new price increase that changes significantly. They also changed the rockets that shoot out themselves. You see, with the new protobelt when one rocket hits a champion all other rockets that hit them are nullified meaning that if I hit a enemy with 3 rockets it would only do damage as if one rocket hit them. Which is a HUGE nerf to its damage. Keep in mind that this is a mythic item we are talking about. Its supposed to be strong and useful but if you compare protobelt to something like eclipse. It falls short... It cant even wave clear as only one rocket can hit a minion. So what is the point of building protobelt? Dodging cc wouldn't be as effective as they would already have all their items to play around that (think about bork and how you slow them just for aa 3 times). Protobelt needs buff or else it will just be useless. The other 2 ap items night harvester and Axamuks folly are meh. night harvester just gives health, damage, and some movement speed. Axamuks folley though on paper sounds good. Damage, ability haste, healing are all things that are useful for ekko. But the passive with its extra damage is where it really comes in handy. For each second in champion combat, deal 3% bonus damage (max 15%). While this effect is maxed, convert 100% of the bonus damage into true damage. Maxing the effect is where this item starts to shine, But trying to max the effect on ekko takes around 2 spell cycles (not counting ekko's ultimate). So in a teamfight trying to do this may be really difficult. So where is the justice for ap assassin like Ekko?

This comment will probably be drowned but I guess it's worth a shot. The scuttle crab DID NOT change, they put on a shield instead of higher resistances. the overall tankiness stayed the same of the scuttle crab, but instead of giving him ''invisible'' tank stats he got a visible shield that goes away when you cc him, just like it always was with the added resistances that go away when you cc him, but instead of those resistances, he got a shield.

Season 11 feels like a new season 1. It's exciting because no one will know what's going to be good or bad and we will get to experiment a lot, but it is also scary because Riot could easily break the game and LoL will probably be unbalanced for quite a while

If you feel like it's weird that mages received 6 mythic items, it's because Artillery Mages and Battle Mages are very different and have very different needs. This distinction should have been made a long time ago by making these two separate classes (not just subclasses). A lot of hate towards all mages would disappear if these two classes were not in the same category, because Battle Mages have been problematic almost all the time.
The main problen I see with many Items is that the effects can stack. Remove that and it will be more balanced
I am DREADING this season. I'm really happy with the game right now, and I'm confused by why everyone wants so much to change. I guess I'll be taking a break for a bit at the start of next season :(

I think riot has missed its opportunity to actually improve the items and play a bit around with game mechanics. I like the idea giving items the purpose to deal with specific roles but the items lack creativity. Use this item deal additional damage, use this item do this damage in a different way. The items feel similar and boring. How about an item that marks enemys after attack and all it does is grant visibility for 4 seconds. What about an active that gives vision in a short cone in front of you. An item solely for pushing turrets. how about an item that creates a tunnel so you could gank from crazy positions. An ability that buffs nearby minions for a short period of times. A support items that protects turrets and makes them attack faster. I would love to see gameplay variations and not just stats and damage
Surprised you went over Knights Vow as fast like that. They removed it's heal for the wearer, which makes it infinitely worse for tank supports like Taric, Tham Kench, Braum, etc. and everything alternative like Zac, MaoKai etc. It was basically the only heal opportunity for supports. Overall I'd say we have an insane power creep this time and I hope they resort to neerfing only over buffing - especially in the assassin itemization. For supports on the other hand, the ward stone is a nice addition, but considering how fast the game is (going to be), getting to lvl 13 is usually something that happens quite late with supportss and then placing 20 wards takes quite some time. So you finish it almost before the end game and then also still have to hold a inventory space open for it + pay gold. I wish it was a upgrade to your stacked support item that comes with hitting lvl 13, but I guess that would go to far, so we will see. Staff of flowing water could also be amazing on shops for Kog'Maw or others with dual gain DMG like TF, KaiSa, Teemo or especially Corki. There's also a 4th support item announced to come.

See I don't think this is power creep because this is all intentional. Power creep is an incremental increase in power over time with new additions, think champs up till Aphelios/Samira. Now however, Riot has just buffed EVERY item all at once. This isn't power creep this is a power jet rocket. And I'm here for it let's fucking GOOOOO

As someone who is basically LoL's historian, you should totally do a video (and it would be shorter, too) about the history of the Apple Client with Riot. It's not everyday a group of gamers gets together all over the world and reverse engineers a game's client so they can figure out how to get it work against the wishes of the company that discontinued the Apple version of it. It's been like 8 years since the official Riot Apple client went online. Seems fitting to do a tribute to the Wine port of the game, along with Boompjee and all the crazy people who were involved in making it happen. While I was a part of that community, I wasn't involved in any of the coding or anything. I just lived through it to know the tale exists, and is definitely some good ole' fashioned nostalgia for a section of Riot's gaming community that they initially wrote off for Season 2.
i think all the 'tank items' are underwhelming, probably just going to buy bruiser stuff instead. i think some of those bruiser and assassin items are so good, marksmen and supports might buy them, not just tanks.

I feel like this is such a refresh to league as a veteran player this feels almost like season 1 all over again. Relearning items and having a much needed refresh to this part of the game was long overdue. I for one am excited, but also terrified and apprehensive. Some of these changes make it sound like each class is going back to their most powerful point in history. Feels like league on steroids almost.
I like the changes a lot, it also shows that they are not afraid to risk and change the game. It will be fresh and fun to create new builds, see what champions will make a comeback and so on.
43:48 as Diana otp i can't say we will like that. Removal of cd reduction changes her drastically 1. Build path and stats of nashor allowed her to shred turrets and roam frequently 2. Basically, with that in mind Diana will start actually snowballing after 2 items rather than be able to carry with just one Honestly I have no idea what to think about that change. Because it's not a buff or nerf It's a change: from a nail gun to shotgun

I have to say, I am both excited and scared about what is coming to the game with Season 11. Excited because it is a lot of change and makes the game feel fresh, "new." It also gives beautiful ways to experiment with new options and strategies on a bunch of different champions. Scared because many of the new items already sound super OP and could cause many problems and imbalance in the game. Additionally, I am an ADC main, and I am terrified to play against any Assassin in Season 11. Also, RIP Vayne if the Behemoth Slayer item will be released like that. :(
Starting tear with Anivia sounds fun! Also wonder if they will buff weak characters like Taliyah or just be like you can use these items even though they will still be weak in comparison

For some odd reason the era people consider to be the best seasons in League is when everything was at its weakest. Hmm, I guess this just means we haven't made everything powerful enough correctly! What made the game interesting was when the fights were longer and more drawn out. It had more outplay potential and emphasized correct ability usage through long cooldowns, but now everything one shots and is on low cooldown. This game has changed very much from when I grinded LP and spent 12+ hours a day doing my best to improve my mechanics and decision making. I remember when I actually specifically practiced holding abilities to gain advantages through better use in fights, now its a lot more about one-shoting and getting the abilities out as quickly as possible to maximize ability usage, we used to hold abilities to gain subtle advantages like auto-canceling an auto even if it meant its a second longer cooldown because odds were you wouldn't have survived that long to use the ability again, now you only hold abilities for bigger reasons like dodging a veigar ult with zed ult. I feel that now the game now relies on single good plays early in the game to get a lead rather than continually playing well throughout the game, making it much harder for top-tier players to shine and much less forgiving for new players. Now even better players can get destroyed by lesser players due to a fluke and then the new player starts one-shoting the better player leaving him no chance to take back the lead through individual play, which is why jungle has been such an important role and team-fighting has been given such a bigger importance in recent seasons rather than how the early seasons emphasized individual play just as much if not more. I wonder if newer players would perform nearly as well if they were placed in older seasons. I think a good example might be Faker. How most would describe Faker back in what most have considered his prime was by calling him "Consistently good" and he was also recognized by most as the best player in the world then. Back in old league of legends you needed to consistently perform throughout the fight to win, it wasn't you make one mistake or one fluke accident happens you died and now the enemy has a lead. Why people would boast about solo-killing Faker was because it was extremely hard to beat him, he might make one mistake but thats all you could get, you didn't get back to back mistakes with Faker, which is why the cyborg faker meme existed because they questioned his humanity because he barely ever made mistakes, but they did exist, meaning that in order to kill Faker you have to rely on skill, a mistake might get you half-way to the fame of solo-killing faker but in order to finish Faker you would have to still perform near perfectly to win, if you were even slightly careless after his mistake he might even have killed you instead. My point is that with the high damage outputs its a lot more about that single mistake, and because no one is perfect, even the best of players will make that mistake and have to endure the ensuing suffering of going against a one-shot champ with a lead, which is even more relevant when they too are a top-tier player that now has a major lead on you. And most importantly, I miss Faker constantly being on the front page outplaying another fool with too high of aspirations trying to solo-kill Faker. Although now its so much easier to kill anyone because of such high damage outputs.
We're still not in Season 11 yet, but it's still cool to see just how much has changed since the preseason started a few months ago.

That just means there is no tank, bruiser are automatically shit cause they stack hp. That means adc supps and mages are gonna be even more broken and the brawler class will be destroyed once more.

@Luca M Ahh, yeah. I mean, DotA items (At least pre-S11) tended to be a *lot* more powerful than LoL items, so it's fair to say that it just looks really extreme. I just mostly wanted to point out that what makes DotA work is that a lot of items act as counters, not just power multipliers. But Riot isn't a huge fan of counterplay because "it isnt fun when someone stops you from doing something."

I feel like bruisers or assassin's are going to be building up some critical chance once in a while in solo queue also my botlane is going to feed a lot more now with this movement speed, rakan will become meta and last but not least tanks finally will not 1v9 as we have way more true damage on assassin's and this new item that gives vayne's passive to whoever builds it

I mean League changed completely with season 8 cause of runes and generally the playstyle, ADC bot were forbidden, everyone does infinity damage. Season 10 was better than season 8/9, not perfect but I prefer it over anything we had for last couple of years. My personal favourite seasons were 4-7.

Scale up the map in size and it'll feel like dota2... which I'm not completely against. As a support main I'm really excited for all of these new things.
I believe for things like Navori quickblade there are certain item categories that you can only have one item of and that's why they have that purple barrier. So i don't think people need to worry about navori stacking.
i really like your writing skills you write video on a game that is 10 years old and even with that you can make me hooked up to a video talking about a mode or a champion rework when you think about it a champion rewake at first glace can be interesting but not so much but when you get to talk about that rework you can make it so interesting talking about the developement of that champion design and the setps took to become the new one i hope that you become friends with a riot developer so you can ask him about his ideas . i have ONE request for you just please listen i think what made league of legend the game that it is today is it's community but that community has split up into two parts one that is focusing on elo witch is fine by me and the second one that is focusing on creating original content to help grow the game even better to bring new players to the game and that 2 half of the community is the best and unfortunitly is the one fading away PLEASE make a video asking , requasting for creators to come and show their talents so the game grow to become art not just elo grinding

i like how riot is adding new items to offer more identity to every class in the game. At he beginning i'm sure it will be a powecreep fiesta where everything is overpowered but after all every pre-season has always been a mess but at the end it will be (almost) prefectly balanced as all things should be and this game will be better than ever before. Also I appreciate how you make these videos Exil you put everything in a neutral state so that everyone can make up his won idea about the subject

I guess my only judgement and suggestion is there is too much ability haste. having crit uncap is still okay but ability haste really needs a cap no matter what.
A lot of the ability haste problems can be fixed if ability haste was made as a unique passive instead of a flat stat on items. That way you can't stack 2 of the same items to get OP amounts of cdr.
you can place 20 wards at base with your support item to finish the ixtali wardstone quest and be able to place 1 more control ward and regular ward on the map which is stupid imo. i think they should change it where if you have a specific vision score it auto upgrades instead of just placing wards mindlessly.
I think the shakeup is good, removes a lot of the tedium from the current game. It can only stay entertaining for so long I’ll probably actually return to play because of this. I really hope it makes the champions role fluid like before.
Damn. Predicting the battle mages (zyra specifically) becoming supports, assassin heavy mid lane, and a bit more tanks in the jungle and a few less in top lane. He was pretty accurate with that.

I played league of legends a lot from season 2 to season 6, reaching diamond rank in a couple of those seasons. and on and off again since then. coming back to season 11, I have no idea wtf is going on with all the item changes. new champion kits are very overloaded. 90% of the time in a teamfight I have literally no fucking idea what is even killing me. I don't even have fun when my team wins the game
This reminds me of the bat shit crazy days of league when things were the wild west... you'd see ap sion, yi, warwick and banana slayer soraka, just so many different choices. I'm both terrified and excited for season 11 it'll feel like old league.
I came back to the game a week before Season 11, after not playing the game for 5 years, now take a wild guess just how confused I was when suddenly the shop changed entirely.
personally I think the changes and new items were unnecessary, the last season, in my opinion, was reasonably balanced, only a few champions like master yi were quite broken but in general everything was decent balanced. riot now, just pulled the "if everything is broken, nothing is" card, which I think is a bit stupid, we all know that riot is bad at balancing stuff bit come on
I would like to see you making a video of Aurelion Sol like before and after mini rework how they made him worse and player base wanting a revert but riot just seem to forget that even the champion exists no balance changes etc. I know they had a new skin recently but it does not change the fact that asol mains arent happy i would like to see your opinions too :))

Tanks need better items. Very underwhelming compared to other items, especially because of all the tank busting options. If you pick tank you're at a disadvantage late game :/
Hextech revolver USED to be a great item for mage sustain until they got rid of spell vamp
