What's the true range, lights heater, etc?

MG4 Xpower has some serious power there.

​@@alastair9894probably around 200 (official range is 240 and they tend to lose 10-20 in the real world). Of course if you want more range, there's the extended range which is about 2 seconds slower but gets an 'official' range of 323 miles

The MG is actually impressively low weight considering the batteries and rear seats.

The battery capacity is not that big, that's why. Chevy Bolt is much lighter, but a much "cheaper" light on equipment car.

The MG comes with a 7 year warranty also. That means you could blast it everywhere and not worry about an engine blowing up. I like a good sports car like anyone else but I’ve got to say, that MG is some value for money.

Jimmy sim raced because how the hell does someone get into racing real cars without a budget.....and now his passion for cars real or virtual means he gets to do this, is such a cool story to happen to genuinely nice and funny person. Loved this video , great chemistry on screen between the three, interesting line up of cars.

I love drag races like this. The races with hypercars are fun, but oddball lineups are exponentially cooler. Great to see a near unmolested early GT-R too. Is the Gallardo in good health? This one looks unusually slow.

Yeah that Gallardo probably has some gearbox issues.

That and the convertible is like 200kg heavier than the normal version so it’s quite a lot slower, especially bc he has the top down:

There was no difference... You're thinking of the race from 30mph vs 50mph... Both 50mph races with gear choice and without were almost identical

@@GetawayFilms oh there’s a huge difference because of gearing. Each car benefits from being in the proper gear for certain speeds

For those of you saying the Gallardo has lost a lot of horsepower, check oit the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times from when it was new, and most of those were taken with rollout, some of which done on prepped roads with professional drivers as well.

iirc when the best motoring tested the gallardo and the gtr on an unprepped road, both did under 12 so they're a bit slower this time

a slow motion camera like a phantom or something similar would look incredible, especially when launching in the drag

It's because of that flat torque curve of electric with no fear change. I've driven a gallardo and I think it has a robotic single clutch which is pretty slow to shift!

Through all these years I'm just glad Matt got his bag and seems chipper year in and year out. Good on you lad, keep on.

That brake test really goes to show how much brakes, and probably more importantly ABS, have improved over the last 20 years. Because I don't think that MG has more grip than the other cars, at least not relative to weight, so it must be the ABS more able to utilise the full potential of the tyre to stop.

ABS hasn't changed a ton in the last 20 years because it can only physically do so much in a period of time, but older cars will always have softer rubber lines that will flex and increase stopping distance. And if you see how squirrely the MG is, it's still not as stable as the other cars.

@@mediocreman2 but surely the tyres on those older cars are still modern and therefore there isn't much difference in tyre technology and overall softness? Edit: ooh you mean rubber brake lines! That makes sense. Though I'd also still think that newer abs systems are able to more rapidly apply and release brakes to improve the braking performance. Though of course there is still a huge mechanical limitation there as you've said.
