I have read that McCarthy is some kind of hero or mastermind now that he got an agreement with the Prez and it look like the measures will pass both houses. I don't think a 'gun-to-the-head' situation makes anyone a hero or a genius. The GOP is leveraging it's House majority to drive a compromise with the Dems over an issue that would wreck our economy. Everyone with a brain is going to want to play ball on this issue. Let's see McCarthy get truly controversial and one-sided legislation passed. Then he's a hero.
