Now do Judge Judy!
So good, Great info. Many years ago I was going through a really rough patch, and I thought I'd stop being hard-headed and listen to a medical doc who prescribed anti depressants. At the time, a former competitive triathlete who sustained a serious back injury, my weight about 140 but I was working out regularly and still fairly fit, active, and productive with no drugs and no back surgery. The anti depressants she prescribed were great at first, but I started gaining weight... 2lbs a week though nothing in my activity/food had changed. This WAS depressing! My doctor reassured me that things would balance out but they didn't, I worked out harder and ate less and still gained weight, we switched medications 3 times. My life circumstances were getting worse, my husband at the time was abusive, I quit working out bc it wasn't helping anymore, not realizing what the drugs were doing to my body. I got up to 230lbs, contemplated destructive behaviors, started drinking. I went through a divorce, job changes, and finally, determined to get off those drugs. It was quite scary at first and I couldn't manage a day without taking my AD, but I cut those tiny pills in half and I would only reduce meds on one day a week for 2 weeks, then reduce another day for 2 weeks until I had reduced a full week to half dosage, then I went to a quarter. I saw that the drugs had cause me to not know how to deal with the emotional upheaval of my life and I came close a couple of times to having a panic attack that I couldn't handle my life without the drugs. While I never struggled with my weight before, I now have had a hard time getting below 180. The damage the drugs did to me is still felt years later... probably mostly mental at this point and I just need to invoke some discipline to getting all this weight off. It's like the whole US is medicated anymore... I advise everyone I meet to get off that stuff! Thank you for this awesome podcast helping people see this problem!
I think Dr.s Phil and Peterson can have a fantastic conversation.
Which one of these guys is Joe?
Surprised the twat waffle isn't knocked up
Sorry Dr phill but I was raised by an alcoholic and I never thought I was second class.. I just thought "these are some spoiled mutha fuckas with their home and parents. These fucking pussys." Now I have kids and couldn't imagine doing a lot of things my parents did. You just have to try and do the best you can do. If you don't like the way you were raised then do your best to raise your kids the best you can. Stop blaming your childhood. That excuse expires when you have kids cus now it's your turn... Make the best of your time with you kids
I used to talk a lot of shit on Dr. Phil but he has some insights
I'd like to see Chuck Liddell sometime
The bit about comparing based on you home experience was quite moving, that struck a chord.
Does anybody recall joes standup routine way back making fun of Dr. Phil? I wonder if that ever came up in setting up for this interview. I haven't listened to the entire interview yet and I wonder if that whole thing will come up.. I'd love to hear joes answer to how you a blast a dude in a standup routine and then sit with him and schmooze.
Joe “Give me a hug* Rogan
Phil’s lip smacking makes it not watchable
Please interview Esther Perel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObtmLBOfIRM
My dad has shrapnel in his neck, knee and brain stem. Lead bullet and grenade fragments. Fuck this pain is good shit. Have some humanity and let him have his Vicodin back so he can go to sleep at night. Ibuprofen and therapy ain’t cutting the mustard when you live with bullets and knives in your nerves. This tough love nonsense with Opiods ignore all of the things opiods were developed to treat that nothing else treats. If it’s their life, let them live it. Maybe it’s not the drugs. Maybe it’s the pain this society creates. Where nobody gets married or believes in love anymore. Nobody has children, nobody goes to church. Few believe in God. Few have present fathers. Most trade honor for hedonism or nihilism. Decent jobs and secure livings are impossible to get unless you work in STEM or have an exceptional IQ. If you’re unlucky enough to be born an average white male, you’re the last pick of the litter and society blames you for everything. Maybe the addiction is an indicator of the real problem, and the pills aren’t the root of it. The opiod epidemic coincided with the loss of industrial America to China—along with all of the working class jobs it provided. I mean Jesus. You’re just going to drive miserable people to huffing gas like they do in the third world. That said, Prozac is terrible. These medicines that don’t even make you feel good and even ruin your life, they pass those out no problem. But someone in terrible pain with cancer, aids, chronic pain, chronic depression...let them have a little extra dopamine and fuck off with the judgement.
Amazing episode, one of my favs
How bout dat!
fear of weakness = you might be frail. not necessarily physically, but certainly in some capacity.
you didnt ask if its healhy to jerk off 3 times a day fk YOU JOE ROGAN
Did not expect to cry watching this when I first started it, but when Dr Phil started talking about your “self truth” brought me to tears.. struggling with this every day
So what I've learned here is... you all take Dr. Phil seriously now.
Congress and the government are aware but don't give a damn because they want us all medicated and addicted. We're easier to control that way. Medical marijuana got me off of xanax. That's a fact.
ALBERT EINSTEIN ONCE SAID.... Everybody is a Genius. But If You Judge a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree, It Will Live Its Whole Life Believing that It is Stupid.
Wow! By the way, I've been trying for ten years to figure out the theory of relativity- still working on it.
Joe's comments about the gay guy burning his house down and calling it a hate crime as actually aged pretty well. Dozens of arsonists are currently setting Australia ablaze, and calling it a climate crisis... This kind of thing is just getting more and more out of control.
What a douche.... Joe we all know you're a re.tard, but did you have to double down with this f.ucktard... Guy has a PhD in Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Psychological Intervention.... really Joe... An Oprah pile of shit that has been unleashed on the culture of America - For shame, you shameless re.tard....
Girl, get your shit together and stop being crazy! Cash me outside, how bout dat.
I’m glad I watched this, I have a new found respect for Dr Phil because I did. Definitely got me thinking about my current problem(s) and if I’m being a coward or if I’m doing the right thing
Hearing Dr.Phil swear is like my favorite thing ever
Tune in a bucket catch me outside
Call him out bro!
Dr. Phil is a cool guy, I never watched his TV show because I thought he was a psychiatrist just selling air time.
I would like to watch just ONE podcast where Joe doesn't talk about that juiced up POS Jon Jones.
I believe the phyciatry business is a money making racket. I believe the entire field is about 90% bullshit. They charge $100 or more per hour and they don't cure jack shit. Are you feeling sad? Here are some pills. Are you feeling depressed? Here's some pills. Feeling anxiety? Pills. Can't sleep? Pills. There's a pill now for absolutely EVERYTHING. The whole thing is a fucking racket.
30:34 Just Savin This For Later Don't Mind Me XD
I love u Dr.Phil❤️
Its not a labeling problem, Phil. Its a spiritual problem. NIhilistic society all interested in how much and whatever they want to bang, then ignore, then dispose of then on to the next appetite..WITHOUT consequence. Fat people cost ALL of us for their gluttony...sexual expression has cost us all with children raising themselves and abortions and STDs. Its all predictable. But we wanted to have it all
At the end when Phil is talking about his son loving joe, and how “he knows how to have a good time”. Joe is hurrying it along because those “good times” are probably them gettin high as shit.
Beatin is as bad as cheatin !!! We’ll be right back
I love papa Phil’s Twitter
I could have not spent my time better! Awesome talk, loved every single bit! The comments talk for themselves..
Dr Phil talks so much shit though 😂😂😂
Dr.Phil is intelligent as hell and surprisingly has amazing comedic timing
You can always use words to contradict someone, but the challenge is finding words faster then the other person to articulate why you are right. we all have white teeth to start, we all die and bleed red. but the words we use in are life change are path in life. i would also like to point out that someone getting loud and mad is the only human ability we have to announce importance subconsciously, without physical action.
1:05:00 huge title fight quickly check date lol
Problems are a... problem. But solutions are... solutions.
Can't believe I missed this podcast until now. I love it, thank you very much! I needed that so much.
Yes phil. Pills are nasty. It makes people crazy. Just another tax on stupid people
Dr Phil! There are no words to describe how much I love you, your approach and education. Need to talk to you for two minutes and I promise you the rest of our lives will be change the world. I’m a ACOA
If I could smoke with two people, it would be Joe and Phil.
This is the most unlikely partnership ever
With regard to the consequences for prescribing boys add medication. Now we have a huge male NEET population, males are far less likely to go to college, males are far less likely to engage outside of their home or school, males are working far less than they did, etc. If we ignore a pretty obvious correlation like that, I dont know what to tell you.
I’m a psychiatric RN and man he’s right on the money regarding ADD/ADHD and polypharmacy!!! Wish I worked with psychiatrist who think the way he does !
They should put their heads together and take a selfie....... it would look like a nice pair of tits......
Stop prescribing the opioid base painkillers for more than 3 days. Burn all of the poppy fields in Afghanistan, close the southern border to slow the meth, heroin and coke coming in.
There a ton of Joe Rogan interviews that I did not like, for one reason or another. This is not one of them. When I was in high school I thought DR. Phil was kind of a sham. These days I think he is fantastic, Back then he was trying to give me the advice I needed, but did not want to hear.
Only one question. Why do they have to wear headphones?
