Do you know how many people have said this after he has a good game or two? He’s been in the league since 2018. What you see is what you get from Ayton. Someone who disappoints most of the time. Someone who constantly makes you say things like “why didn’t he dunk that?” “Box someone out.” “He’s gotta be better at going up for the block.” “He has so much potential, if only he was more aggressive.”

Being consistent on a regular basis will get people off Ayton's back. One thing doesn't necessarily rule out another and there are times when Ayton does need to use his size with more force because the team already has enough finesse players. So a lot of the points are valid. Phoenix will need defense and rebounding around the interior. along with the other assets rhey already posses and more than anyone else Ayton will have to provide it. To win a chip, he has to t fill that roie.

So I didn’t see the game but watching the highlights I’m still wondering why the heck they didn’t follow after it was a 1 point game with 26 seconds left? A 2 second differential isn’t nearly enough to play it out. Unless you have a 5 second differential you should never play it out. I think down 1 I would foul even with 30 seconds left. Down 2 I’d play defense with 29 seconds but no less. Such a boneheaded coaching move. It baffles me how you can be a coach and not know situational ball like the back of your hand. Chances of winning the game is around 20% if you foul down 1 there and around 2% if you don’t. It’s not even close

@Chad Ingram Giannis alone had 85 FTA in that series . Guy has the friendliest whistle I've ever seen lol. He's averaging 13 FTA/game this season. Bucks had 40 more FTA overall compared to the Suns. Also good to note that DA was 22 in his first playoffs with no big man backup in that series after Dario went down in game 1. Giannis didn't manhandle anybody, he just fouled DA out of the game and there was no replacement. So yeah, idk what that guy's talking about with the timid stuff. DA has been solid in the playoffs so far. If he keeps up this level of play, he'll have a great run.

Gets benched in the biggest game of his life. Once again disputes his contract and eventually landing back with us. I think there was only like 3 teams that had the salary cap to do it at the start of free agency…. Pacers were one of the teams. Supposedly the Pacers were in talks with the Suns at the trade deadline last season to trade Sabonis for Ayton. And then in the off season Pacers were trying to work out a trade for Ayton for Turner. The other 2 teams that had interest in Ayton were the Blazers and the Pistons. Pistons wanted to trade Grant for Ayton. Turner could have been a nice fit on the Suns so could have Sabonis but preferred they keep Ayton. Just wish they used him differently on offense and defense… I feel like he’d be a beast in another system. Hopefully the Suns start using him in way that unleashes his full potential.
